Violence at primary school nativity play as two fathers have a fight and one bites off the other’s finger.
The bloody scene took place at the Harton Primary School, South Shields, Tyne and Wear as pupils – aged five to eleven – were about to begin the nativity play performance.
According to witnesses a man stormed into the school and launched an assault on another man already in the building. One parent said: “The two men started to fight in front of all the mums and dads. One bit the finger off the other and spat the blood out.”
The incident is believed to have been the result of a long feud between the two men that had escalated in recent weeks.
A 32-year-old man was taken to hospital where surgeons are thought to have re-attached his severed finger. A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

If ever there were a reminder that giving the finger is a fine art, take heed from KPRC in Houston’s anchor Owen Conflenti. He attempts to give the finger to a staffer off-camera during a live newscast. Small problem: His finger was in frame.
While he’s not as joyfully exuberant giving the finger as that Russian newscaster or outside the box as the BBC weatherman, it’s a masterpiece in a lack of awareness of being on TV and wide camera lenses.
It could have been worse. He could have been doing hilarious Puppetry of the Penis off-camera to antagonize one of the producers. It’d be like the Janet Jackson Super Bowl incident all over again…only sexier.

Ronald Neilly was working at an International House of Pancakes in Hallandale, Florida one Sunday morning when he accidentally cut off a fingertip while preparing an order. Neilly, 35, was immediately rushed to a local hospital by Department of Fire Rescue workers. But the severed fingertip (nail intact) could not be located by his fellow kitchen employees.
