Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party's 2012 Candidate for President, was arrested for holding a sit-in at the local Fannie Mae office located in Philadelphia, protesting the housing foreclosures occurring throughout our country. She was formally charged with "defiant trespassing". So do we now have tyranny in our country when individuals peacefully exercise free speech?
In explaining why she protested, Stein said that almost half of Americans now live in poverty or near poverty, while eight million families face eviction from their homes due to foreclosures, and over a third of mortgage holders are "underwater" - meaning that they owe more to the lenders than their properties are worth on the market.
Said Stein, "The developers and financiers made trillions of dollars through the housing bubble and the imposition of crushing debt on homeowners. And when homeowners could no longer pay them what they demanded, they went to government and got trillions of dollars of bailouts. Every effort of the Obama Administration has been to prop this system up and keep it going at taxpayer expense. It's time for this game to end. It's time for the laws be written to protect the victims and not the perpetrators. It's time for a new deal for America, and a Green New Deal is what we will deliver on taking office. "
I applaud Jill Stein for her courage in standing up to tyranny for all Americans. This is the civil disobedience that worked so effectively for Gandhi and Henry David Thoreau. This is the courage of real leadership.
Thank you, Jill Stein, for standing up for the working classes of America. Certainly Obama, Romney, and the Congressional Republicans and most Democrats won't stand up for the working and middle classes of America since they are all on the corporate payroll of these financiers.

John talks about, peace, peaceful revolution, the black panthers and the Native American situation.
Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we’re being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I’m liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what’s insane about it. -John Lennon

"There are no ready-made answers on how this epochal effort should unfold. No comforting alternative dogma waits in the wings. Old ways of thinking seem immutable because new paradigms are not yet equipped with clear formulations or solutions. But what emerges from this period of introspection does not depend so much on dazzling original ideas. Realigning our worldly projects with civilizational purpose depends entirely on those whose honesty will not be compromised by ideology or held captive by prejudices and pet assumptions. Indeed, perhaps the most precious skill in this context will be the ability to live with ambiguity and ambivalence while cultivating self-awareness. This need not involve recourse to morally demanding philosophers like Gandhi. The sixth century B.C. Chinese military strategist, Sun Tzu, left behind the dictum that success depends on knowing yourself before you know your enemy. Recovery to business-as-usual is the enemy. Our current wilderness—economic and social—is a space where we can come to know ourselves better.""There are no ready-made answers on how this epochal effort should unfold. No... more

"Jain" comes from the Sanskrit word "Jina" that means "conqueror" and implies the conquest over one's inner passions – anger, hatred, greed, ego, and deceit. The primary goal of Jain Dharma is the perfection and purification of soul -.the principle, governing the successions of lives on earth, through karma.
To accomplish this total freedom from ceaseless cycles of re-births, living, pain, misery, and death, Jains achieve the righteous path through right perception, right knowledge and right conduct. Right perception creates an awareness of the reality or truth. Right knowledge impels a person to proper action. Right conduct leads to the attainment of total freedom.
All followers of Jainism observe five disciplines: (i) Non-violence (Ahimsa) - or not causing any harm to any living being; (ii) Truthfulness (Satya) - to speak harmless truth; (iii) Non-stealing (Sateya) – not to take what is not given or earned; (iv) Chastity (Brahmcharya) - not to indulge in illicit sensual pleasures; v) Non-Possession (Aprigraha) – absence of self-interest over people, places and all material possessions. Therefore, Jain philosophy teaches how to live a life without violence in thought, word or actions that leads to universal love or Ahimsa. Time magazine quotes: "Jainism's pre-eminent discipline, Ahimsa (non violence) deeply influenced Mahatma Gandhi and altered the course of Indian history" as it did for Martin Luther King Jr. in America and Nelson Mendella in South Africa, and is very relevant for today."Jain" comes from the Sanskrit word "Jina" that means... more

Mahatma Gandhi and Hermann Kallenbach, pictured here with his secretary Sonia Schlesin.
Oy, does the term TMI (too much information) apply here? That would be a yes. A new book, Great Soul: Mahatma Gandhi And His Struggle With India, depicts the Indian icon as a sexual weirdo who left his wife in 1908 for a German-Jewish architect and bodybuilder. Talk about moonlighting. The tome, written by Pulitzer prizing #winning author, Joseph Lelyveld, addresses some of the letters and dishy bits about the romance the two had for six years. Recently, the Oscar-winning Best Film, Gandhi, was on TCM and no where does it mention this factoid. I loved that film. And now, knowing about this poontang story, I wish they had included it in the film. Surely if the film was being made now, it would be all about this gay affair. A film about Gandhi’s valiant efforts to free the Indian people from England’s autocratic rule? Who cares. Poontang with a Jewish bodybuilder, which is a bit of an oxymoron, definitely. One does not automatically think of sex when thinking about Gandhi. I sure don’t. On the contrary, he is an unattractive, A-sexual looking being. Now, I can’t stop thinking about this taboo affair. So let me get this straight, or not: if there is a cover for every pot…where is my lid?

"It is easer for a Camel to go through the eye of a needle, that it is for a Rich Man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven." Or, maybe you just need to buy a bigger needle?
It's official: as Egypt was burning, Mubarak was stealing the gold. When we reported, presumably jokingly, two weeks ago that the Egyptian Central Bank may have been plundered, it turns out we were pretty much accurate once again. For all those wondering why Mubarak was refusing to hand over power for the past two weeks as hundreds of people were dying, we now have the answer - it was all just to make sure he transferred his assets, especially gold, to safe regimes (in the process paying tens of millions in commissions to that most noble of jobs - the banker class). The Telegraph reports: "A US official told The Sunday Telegraph: "Hosni Mubarak used the 18 days it took for protesters to topple him to shift his vast wealth into untraceable accounts overseas, Western intelligence sources have said...There's no doubt that there will have been some frantic financial activity behind the scenes. They can lose the homes and some of the bank accounts, but they will have wanted to get the gold bars and other investments to safe quarters. The Mubaraks are understood to have wanted to shift assets to Gulf states where they have considerable investments already – and, crucially, friendly relations. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have frequently been mentioned as likely final destinations for Mr Mubarak and possibly his family."As usual, we remind readers that according to the World Gold Council, Egypt had 75.6 tonnes of gold at the end of 2010. Should this number not be reduced following Mubarak's plundering, we will know just how pervasive Tungsten is in the world central banking cartel.

From Telegraph: ---
The former Egyptian president is accused of amassing a fortune of more than £3 billion - although some suggest it could be as much as £40 billion - during his 30 years in power. It is claimed his wealth was tied up in foreign banks, investments, bullion and properties in London, New York, Paris and Beverly Hills.
In the knowledge his downfall was imminent, Mr Mubarak is understood to have attempted to place his assets out of reach of potential investigators.
On Friday night Swiss authorities announced they were freezing any assets Mubarak and his family may hold in the country's banks while pressure was growing for the UK to do the same. Mr Mubarak has strong connections to London and it is thought many millions of pounds are stashed in the UK.
But a senior Western intelligence source claimed that Mubarak had begun moving his fortune in recent weeks.
"We're aware of some urgent conversations within the Mubarak family about how to save these assets," said the source, "And we think their financial advisers have moved some of the money around. If he had real money in Zurich, it may be gone by now."
-------------------- //~// ----------------------
Perhaps Goldman Sachs can take a proactive PR step and disclose to the population that the flow trade-frontrunning hedge fund had nothing to do with facilitating the transfer of Mubarak's billions in stolen wealth from point A to point B. And perhaps all other banks can follow suit. Either that, or we can all just wait for Mubarak's sworn deposition when he is put on trial for crimes against the Egyptian people some time in 1-2 months. Doing text searches for "Goldman" in those thousand page PDFs will be breeze...

Delhi, India - Amrapali Media Vision announces Dear Friend Hitler, a film about Mahatma Gandhi--that derives its name from two letters Gandhi wrote to Adolf Hitler prior to and during World War II, will be previewed February 13 during a special event and available for sale during the 2011 European Film Market. The film, which the Times of India calls a 'curtain raiser' was shot entirely in India. With a budget of more than 3 million dollars, it is one of India's most expensive independent productions to date.
In 1939 Gandhi composed a letter to Hitler, using the standard greeting of the time. Through his first letter, dated summer 1939, Gandhi sought to prevent the upcoming violence. Dear Friend Hitler set during the final days of the second world war visualizes the ideological clash between Mahatma Gandhi and Hitler and presents Gandhi’s ideologies of peace, non-violence and equality.

Indira Gandhi was the politically influential Nehru Family. Her father was Jawaharlal Nehru and her mother was Kamala Nehru. It is a common myth to relate the name Gandhi with Mahatma Gandhi, but her surname is from her marriage to Feroze Gandhi. Her grandfather, Motilal Nehru, was a prominent Indian nationalist leader. Her father, Jawaharlal Nehru, was a pivotal figure in the Indian independence movement and the first Prime Minister of Independent India.
