The myth—rather, the Goebbels-like big lie—of voter fraud

More lies from Walker--Wisconsin
"The alternative" to higher state worker pension and health care payments "is to look at 1,500 layoffs of state employees or close to 200,000 children who would be bumped off Medicaid-related programs.": LIE
http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/feb/15/scott-walker/wisconsin-gov-scott-walker-says-alternative-state-/
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has rocked the state Capitol with a host of proposals that would affect state employees, including requiring them to pay more toward their pensions and health care.
Those two moves, part of a budget repair bill introduced Feb. 14, 2011, would raise nearly $30 million. The Republican-controlled Legislature has the measure on the fastest of tracks, and could approve it in under a week.
Raising $30 million would be a big step toward meeting a $137 million budget shortfall before the 2010-2011 budget year ends June 30, 2011 -- and help reduce a larger gap in the next two-year budget.
In pitching his proposal for the higher pension and health care payments at a Feb. 11, 2011, news conference, Walker presented a stark picture of the options he has:
"The alternative in this budget alone, in fiscal year 2011, is to look at 1,500 layoffs of state employees or close to 200,000 children who would be bumped off Medicaid-related programs."
As governor, Walker certainly has the power to lay off state workers.
But can he remove children from Medicaid, the state-federal program that pays medical bills for low-income individuals and families?
To back up the statement, Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie provided a Feb. 8 memo from the state Department of Health Services. It says spending $30 million over three months provides BadgerCare, a Medicaid program, to 194,539 Wisconsin children.
That supports the numbers. But the memo says nothing about whether the state has the authority to cut kids from the Medicaid program.
We asked Walker directly whether the state has such power.
"Well, that’s what the equivalent would be," the governor replied. "That’s just one option. The more immediate one -- if I had to, I don’t want to do any of them -- would be the 1,500 layoffs. But that’s what the equivalent cost is."
OK, we understand that removing nearly 200,000 kids from Medicaid would save $30 million over three months, but could the state do that?
"Again, we just picked out numbers in terms of equivalent dollar amounts," Walker said. "I literally did not even go through the mechanics of that because I’m planning on doing what’s in this bill, not the alternatives."
We looked at the mechanics by consulting several experts:
* Jon Peacock, research director of the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families
* Joan Alker, co-executive director of Georgetown University’s Center for Children and Families
* Kaiser Family Foundation, a national research organization that focuses on health care (memo)
* The Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau’s memo on Walker’s budget-repair bill
They all agreed: The federal health care reform law that took effect in March 2010 prohibits states, until at least 2019, from changing their Medicaid eligibility requirements for children.
In other words, states can’t take Medicaid away from kids who are receiving it.
In fact, if a state did cut kids, it would forgo all federal Medicaid funding, according to a Center for Children and Families memo. That would be significant, as Wisconsin spent $6.7 billion last year in federal and state money on Medicaid for children and adults.
"I think when you’re discussing how to balance your (budget) choices that you ought to make comparisons of actual options," Peacock said.
Let’s review.
Walker said that if his proposal for state employees to pay more for their benefits is not adopted, alternatives such as removing nearly 200,000 children from Medicaid would have to be considered. But that’s a phony alternative. Legally, the state does not have the option to remove kids from Medicaid; Walker acknowledged he did not check before making the statement.
We rate Walker’s statement on Medicaid and kids False."The alternative" to higher state worker pension and health care payments... more-

WI Republican State Senators caught in untruthful statements.
http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/feb/17/alberta-darling/wisconsin-state-sen-alberta-darling-says-unions-pr/
As Republican leaders fanned out to defend the bill, state Sen. Alberta Darling, R-River Hills, appeared on WISN-TV’s "Upfront with Mike Gousha" on Feb. 13, 2011. She is co-chairman of the powerful Joint Finance Committee, the first stop for the bill.
She began her comments by agreeing with Gousha about the scope of the proposals, which have stirred massive protests at the Capitol -- "It’s huge." -- and went on to say it was important that public employees pay their "fair share," just like workers in the private sector.
Darling added, "The governor is proposing that we have collective bargaining deal only with wages which is how it is, for the most part, in the private sector."
That didn’t sound right to us.
Walker’s bill would rewrite the state Employment Relations Act -- a law covering state employees that is more than 50 years old and was last amended in 1971. But private sector unions are covered by a federal law and generally bargain on all sorts of things.
We tried to reach Darling to ask for her backup, but she didn’t respond.
So we turned to some experts who are involved in private sector labor relations. And we took a look at federal law, the National Labor Relations Act,which governs most private employers.
According to this overview on the National Labor Relations Board website:
"Congress enacted the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) in 1935 to protect the rights of employees and employers, to encourage collective bargaining, and to curtail certain private sector labor and management practices, which can harm the general welfare of workers, businesses and the U.S. economy."
The law gives workers the right to bargain collectively for a contract that sets wages, benefits, hours and other working conditions, the NLRA says.
The law also requires workers and employers to "bargain in good faith about wages, hours, vacation time, insurance, safety practices and other mandatory subjects."
That covers a lot more than wages.
To see how it plays out on a practical level, we checked in with some folks on both sides of the bargaining table.
Candice Owley, president Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals, said wages are only part of what’s important to nurses when they negotiate with hospitals. Her union represents about 3,000 nurses, about half of whom are employed at private facilities.
"We spend very little time these days on wages and a whole lot of time on working conditions," she said, such as seniority, schedules, the length of shifts, and what happens when a nurse is assigned to a different department.
Said Owley: "We bargain every kind of working condition imaginable."
James R. Scott, a Milwaukee laywer who represents management. His firm, Linder & Marsack, has about 80 percent private sector work.
"That’s not true," he said of Darling’s statement. "The standard is that you can bargain about everything that affects wages, hours and working conditions."
Scott noted that recent high profile negotiations have involved concessions from workers at companies such as Harley-Davidson, Kohler and Mercury Marine.
All of those manufacturers recently sought, and won, contracts that included two-tiered wage structures, the use of temporary workers and other changes that will reduce labor costs. With the companies reeling from the recession, the union members voted for changes that saved their jobs from being moved to other states.
"When you’re in concession bargaining it tends to be about money," Scott said, but added that unions "are not prevented from making a non-economic proposal."
Rick Badger, executive director of AFSCME District Council 40, whose membership is largely public employees, but includes some private sector workers.
In the cases of Harley and other manufacturers, "really drastic measures were taken to some jobs, but the unions still exist," Badger said. He said future talks will, of course, include discussions of benefits, schedules and other matters.
"All of these things are negotiated," Badger said. "You sit down and come up with solutions. It’s not just money, it’s the workplace."
Let’s return to Darling’s statement.
In arguing public employee unions ought to be treated more like their their private sector counterparts, she said "for the most part" private contract talks are limited to wages.
However, the National Labor Relations Act make it clear: Private employers with unions are not only allowed to bargain on many other issues -- that law requires the subjects be about far more than just wages.
We rate her statement False.http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2011/feb/17/alberta-darling/wisconsin-st... more-

The Faintings At Obama’s Speeches Are Staged
1) Obama speaks.
2) A person is so overcome with being in Obama’s presence that the person faints. Usually more than one person faints, often many.
3) Obama pauses his speech to alert paramedics and EMTs to the fainting person or people.
4) Obama asks if anyone has water and then offers his own bottle of water.
5) Obama offers medical advice (i.e. give the fainted person some room to breathe, get the person some water, make room for the paramedics)
6) Obama pronounces the fainter as fine. How would Obama know that? That person could have had a heart attack, but somehow Obama knew these people were all okay.
7) At the most recent fainting episode in Maryland on October 7, 2010, the temperature was 74 degrees. Yet reports had two dozen people fainting during that speech. How is that possible? This was a speech to young college kids.
Does anyone remember people fainting at speeches being delivered by other Presidents — much less the epidemic of faintings that happen at Obama’s speeches?
James Taranto of the The Wall Street Journal in 2008 raised the issue, cataloging instances of fainting at Obama’s speeches that looked suspicious even way back then. Here’s part of Taranto’s report:
• Hartford, Conn., Feb. 4, 2008. “And when a woman appeared to faint in the standing-only VIP section in front of the podium, Obama paused his speech for over a minute as he directed the crowd to make way for an EMT team and tossed a bottle of water from the stage,” reported the Yale Daily News.
• Seattle, Feb. 8, 2008. “Climate change, the Iraq war and Obama tossing a bottle of water to a woman about to faint all received big cheers,” MSNBC.com reported. “As Obama told the crowd to part so that the woman in question could leave and called for help, a young girl in the crowd shouted out, ‘What a man!’ The audience roared with laughter (although the press that has seen this happen before rolled its eyes).”
Obama knows he and his party are in trouble, so is resorting to his old tricks again — trying to reignite the old magic.
So these faintings are all part of the act and are scripted on Obama’s teleprompter.
This also appears to be part of Obama’s broader effort to set himself up as some kind of quasi-religious or Messianic figure. It’s the kind of egocentric, self-aggrandizing behavior that’s straight out of the tyrant’s handbook.1) Obama speaks. 2) A person is so overcome with being in Obama’s presence... more-

Top New Zealand military scientist quits after resume 'lies'
How bad was the lie and why is the main article posting a picture from the Cool Runnings film?
The top military scientists lied on his resume, which claimed he knew Jamaica's Cool Running team and raced against them as an Olympic bobsledder while also stating he was an ex-Marine. Though possibly the reason he resigned was because he falsely claimed he was a nuclear weapons designer for Britains Polaris missiles.
"Mr Wilce headed Defence Technology Agency (DTA) for five years but 60 Minutes alleged he had padded his resume with false claims about his qualifications and past achievements.
They included being a combat veteran in Britain's Royal Marines and a member of the British bobsleigh team at the 1988 Calgary Olympics and competing against Jamaica, which inspired hit the 1993 movie Cool Runnings."-news au

Blacks Not Buying Race Baiting Perpetrated By Obama and His Left Wing Press
Race baiting attempt by Kelly O'Donnell of NBC News ended in failure.
This video should serve as an illustration to tea party activists of different races on how to neutralize a race baiting question posed by a liberal in the media. Darryl Postell is the black tea party gentleman shown in the video being "interviewed by NBC Nightly News report Kelly O'Donnell who happens to be white. Kelly stated that "There aren't a lot of African-Americans men at these event." Then she asked Darryl “Have you ever felt uncomfortable"
Darryl's answer was the best answer anyone regardless of race could ever give. His answer solidified perfectly the contrast between what it is to be conservative versus what it is to be liberal. Darryl answered Kelly's race baiting question by saying "No, no, these are my people, Americans". Liberals are always trying to divide our nation among "racial and economic" lines. I've been to several tea parties and I have never once felt "uncomfortable". Then again, I don't have race on the brain 24/7 like some of the left like Kelly O'Donnell has. Most conservatives believe in a nationalist point of view. That simply means "love of country". Reagan coined the phrase "American Exceptialism". The left uses race as a control mechanism. They use it against non whites as a way to shame them into being subservient to their ideology. That is why the left uses terms like"Uncle Tom", "Sellout" etc. The left uses race against whites who don't subscribe to their ideology by labeling them "racists", "bigots" etc. Darryl is a man liberals loath. He is a man who isn't guided by race but by his beliefs and conventions. To say that liberals for the most part aren't big fans of this country isn't exactly breaking any new ground. It does serve to reinforce why they attack non whites as traitors for embracing this country. I think I'm on to something.Race baiting attempt by Kelly O'Donnell of NBC News ended in failure. Iran scientist: CIA offered me $50m to lie about nuclear secrets
An Iranian scientist who says he was abducted and taken to the United States by the CIA returned to Tehran yesterday to a hero's welcome and claimed that he had been pressured into lying about his country's nuclear programme.
Shahram Amiri said that he was on the hajj pilgrimage when he was seized at gunpoint in the city of Medina, drugged and taken to the US, where he says Israel was involved in his interrogation. In the US, officials were reported to have admitted that Mr Amiri was paid more than $5m (£3.2m) by the CIA for information about Iran's nuclear ambitions.
The US claims to have received useful information from him in return for the money, but is clearly embarrassed by his very public return to Iran. The offer of a large bribe is reportedly part of a special US programme to get Iranian nuclear scientists to defect.

Why your biggest lie is to yourself
On the evening of February 11, 1963, when she was 30, the poet Sylvia Plath put biscuits and glasses of milk near her sleeping children, sealed the rooms between them and the kitchen, turned on the gas but didn’t light the oven and, lying down, put her head inside. The coroner’s verdict was suicide.
On April 20 of this year, Richard Fuld, CEO of Lehman Brothers, told the US House Committee on Financial Services that while he took responsibility for the way he, like many others in Wall Street, had misjudged the seriousness of the economic crisis, he knew nothing about the kind of transactions called Repo 105.
He said: “I have absolutely no recollection whatsoever of hearing anything about Repo 105 transactions while I was CEO of Lehman. Nor do I have any recollection of seeing documents that related to Repo 105 transactions. The first time I recall ever hearing the term ‘Repo 105’ was a year after the bankruptcy filing, in connection with questions raised by the examiner.”
Repo 105 is a way that companies can raise short-terms loans using their assets as collateral. Fuld needed such loans to finance his purchase of huge assets.

Phila. officer admits lie in saying he was shot | Philadelphia Inquirer | 05/11/2010
It was the phone call police in Philadelphia most dread: an officer shot while on patrol.
In a city that has seen more than its share of police killings in recent years, the department's leaders were grimly prepared. Sometime after 4 a.m. on April 5, after Sgt. Robert Ralston was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a shoulder wound, the department's top brass rushed to his side, including Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey, who was sick with a stomach virus.
Ralston's injury turned out to be minor. But when he started telling the tale of his brush with disaster, the story raised red flags almost immediately.
Ralston, 46, said he had been shot in West Philadelphia by a black man who pointed a revolver at his head, then grazed him in the shoulder when Ralston knocked the gun away. He said he had returned fire and hit the man in the chest, but no gunshot victim turned up in a hospital.
When Ralston called his children to report what had happened, one police officer at the hospital noticed Ralston seemed eager to appear heroic.
And within hours of the shooting, Ralston got out of his hospital bed, picked up his bloodied shirt, and put it back on. He then returned to the scene to help with the investigation.
"It was strange," said Deputy Commissioner William Blackburn. "His reactions didn't add up."
Over the next few weeks, as police searched the scene and the neighborhood for clues, Ralston's tale continued to unravel. Gunpowder residue found on Ralston's shirt matched the ammunition in his own service weapon, and suggested he'd been shot at point-blank range. Ralston made mistakes when describing the layout of the area where the shooting took place. And though Ralston was adamant he'd shot the assailant, no blood was found at the scene.
Around 4 a.m. Tuesday, after four hours of questioning by detectives at Police Headquarters, Ralston admitted he had shot himself, fabricated the story, and made the false report.
Ramsey, who announced the officer's admission five hours later at a hastily called news conference, called the incident "a terrible and embarrassing chapter in our history."
John McNesby, president of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 5, who also had raced to the hospital to meet with Ralston when he was shot last month, expressed disgust.
"The community has supported this city's police officers through so much, every time we lose an officer," McNesby said. "To have something like this come along that could possibly tear that down is a disgrace."
Ralston, a married father of five and a 21-year veteran of the department, was suspended Tuesday with the intent to dismiss. He will be off the force officially in a month, and his badge number will be retired so no officer will ever share the number with him.
Ralston will not face criminal charges because he was offered immunity from prosecution in exchange for his confession. That means he will most likely receive his pension, Ramsey said.
"It was the only way we could tie this up," Ramsey said of the arrangement.
Ralston's pension has not yet been calculated, but a city official estimated that he would collect about $24,000 annually if he took his pension now.
Some of that may be used to recoup the expense of the massive manhunt that was sparked by his lies, Ramsey said. Police spent hours combing the West Philadelphia neighborhood for possible suspects in the shooting, and the department has not yet calculated how much the investigation cost.
Rumors had circulated in the department for weeks that Ralston made up the story. Some sources speculated that he wanted attention, commendation from the department, or a transfer to another district. Ramsey said he did not know why Ralston had made up the story.
"The big question in everybody's minds is why," said Chief Inspector Anthony DiLacqua, of the Internal Affairs division. "There's only one person who knows the answer to that."
Ralston could not be reached for comment. There was no answer at the door of his home in the Northeast.
Ralston was hired in March 1989. He was promoted to made sergeant in 2007, and last year earned a salary of $65,424.
He spent much of his career working in the 25th District in North Philadelphia. In 1995, after he was named in a complaint, an investigator found that Ralston had hit a suspect on the head while arresting him, and that he had mishandled other aspects of the arrest.
Sometime after 2003, Ralston went to the relatively quiet Fourth District, which covers part of South Philadelphia. He recently was transferred to the busier, West Philadelphia-based 19th District, a move that police sources said Ralston was unhappy about.
Ralston was patrolling near 56th Street and Lancaster Avenue, in the city's Overbrook section, early the morning of April 5. Police were investigating a string of burglaries at a strip mall in the area, and Ralston told police he was on the lookout for anything suspicious.
He said he saw two men on the railroad tracks and tried to stop them, but one ran and the other drew a silver revolver and put it to Ralston's head. Ralston told police he had smacked the gun out of the way, but it went off and grazed him. At the time, officials said Ralston's quick reaction might have saved his life.
Ralston told police the assailant was a black man with his hair in corn rows. He had a mark or tattoo under his left eye, according to Ralston.
Ramsey said Ralston apparently described his assailant as black because the area where the shooting took place is predominantly African American.
"It's troubling in a lot of ways," Ramsey said. "It inflames racial tensions in our community, and that's certainly something we don't need."
Ramsey said it was fortunate that officers never stopped or arrested anyone matching Ralston's description of the gunman.
Officers with dogs searched along the tracks and woods at 52d and Lancaster, and knocked on doors in the neighborhood looking for people who might have heard or seen something. The FOP posted a $10,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
From the start, police said, the facts of Ralston's story didn't add up. But there was little evidence found that could disprove his story, either. No one witnessed the shooting. There were no surveillance cameras close by, and the incident took place in an area that is relatively desolate even in daylight hours.
"Putting the truth together took a great deal of effort," DiLacqua said.
In the end, police concluded they could not charge Ralston unless he confessed.
District Attorney Seth Williams praised Ramsey's swift move to fire Ralston.
"We took a badge and a gun from a person whose actions proved him unfit for either. . . . Ultimately our goal was to get to the truth," Williams said in a statement. "Unfortunately, we could only arrive at the truth through his statement given to the police, and that statement cannot be used against him."It was the phone call police in Philadelphia most dread: an officer shot while on... more-

How Americans Are Propagandized About Afghanistan | | AlterNet
No matter how many times this process is exposed, the Pentagon's relentless propaganda machine never seems to diminish.
April 10, 2010 |
Published on Monday, April 5, 2010 by Salon.com.
On February 12 of this year, U.S. forces entered a village in the Paktia Province in Afghanistan and, after surrounding a home where a celebration of a new birth was taking place, shot dead two male civilians (government officials) who exited the house in order to inquire why they had been surrounded, and then shot and killed three female relatives (a pregnant mother of ten, a pregnant mother of six, and a teenager). The Pentagon then issued a statement claiming that (a) the dead males were "insurgents" or terrorists, (b) the bodies of the three women had been found by U.S. forces bound and gagged inside the home, and (c) suggested that the women had already been killed by the time the U.S. had arrived, likely the victim of "honor killings" by the Taliban militants killed in the attack.
Although numerous witnesses on the scene as well as local investigators vehemently disputed the Pentagon's version, and insisted that all of the dead (including the women) were civilians and were killed by U.S. forces, the American media largely adopted the Pentagon's version, often without any questions. But enough evidence has now emerged disproving those claims such that the Pentagon was forced yesterday to admit that their original version was totally false and that it was U.S. troops who killed the women:
After initially denying involvement or any cover-up in the deaths of three Afghan women during a badly bungled American Special Operations assault in February, the American-led military command in Kabul admitted late on Sunday that its forces had, in fact, killed the women during the nighttime raid.
One NATO official said that there had likely been an effort to cover-up what happened by U.S. troops via evidence tampering on the scene (though other NATO officials deny this claim). The Times of London actually reported yesterday that, at least according to Afghan investigators, "US special forces soldiers dug bullets out of their victims’ bodies in the bloody aftermath of a botched night raid, then washed the wounds with alcohol before lying to their superiors about what happened."
What is clear -- yet again -- is how completely misinformed and propagandized Americans continue to be by the American media, which constantly "reports" on crucial events in Afghanistan by doing nothing more than mindlessly and unquestioningly passing along U.S. government claims as though they are fact. Here, for instance, is how the Paktia incident was "reported" by CNN on February 12:
Note how the headline states as fact that the women were dead as the result of an "honor killing." The entire CNN article does nothing but repeat what an "unnamed senior military official said" about the incident, and it even helpfully explained:
An honor killing is a murder carried out by a family or community member against someone thought to have brought dishonor onto them.
The U.S. official said it isn't clear whether the dishonor in this case stemmed from accusations of acts such as adultery or even cooperating with NATO forces.

Michelle Obama: Kenya is Obama’s Home Count
Infowars.com
April 5, 2010
Obama’s wife admits what many have long suspected — her husband’s home country is Kenya. Does this mean Obama was born in the African country as many have long suggested? Maybe. It should be enough to re-open the “birther” case against Obama.

It won’t be, of course, because the establishment media controls the debate over the issue. Even so, the video clip below should be added to the case — that is so long as it remains posted on YouTube.(VIDEO) OOPS…Michelle Obama Admits Pres. Obama’s Home Country is Kenya... more-

GORDON DUFF: BUSH “EVIL DOERS” NOTHING BUT “COVER,” TERROR LEADERS A MYTH : Veterans Today
GULBUDDIN HIKMATYAR, “BUSH TERRORIST MASTERMIND” AND BIN LADEN ASSOCIATE WORKING FOR U.S.?
WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN LYING ABOUT?
By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
For many months, our sources in Pakistan, including the country’s top military advisers, have been telling us that “top terrorist” Gulbuddin Hikmatyar, a man being hunted by the Delta Force, CIA and thousands of American troops, was advising American negotiations to end the war in Afghanistan. We had been told that he had been a “trusted source” for many years, including the years that the US listed him as a top bin Laden lieutenant. If this was true, and we have since learned it is, then most of what we had all been told about the Bush “war on terror” had been total baloney.
Friends in Afghanistan have known Hikmatyar all his life. Some don’t care for him much, although he was Prime Minister in 93 and 94. During the war against the Soviet Union, Hikmatyar was the primary CIA contact in Afghanistan, channeling nearly $1 billion dollars in aid to fighters there assisting the CIA’s top asset, a Saudi named Usama bin Laden. I had wanted to meet with Hikmatyar but was warned it would be a violation of law, even for a journalist, and I would be arrested, as so many others have been, not just for talking to him, but for knowing people who know him or even communicating with his “associates.” It was all called “material support of terrorism” and it was all a lie.
IT GOES SO MUCH FURTHER THAN THIS
Last month, Jeff Gates I attended private military briefings in Pakistan. Along with briefings by various services, our staff from Pakistan and Afghanistan, including Maj. Mujtaba, Gen. Asif Haroon Raja, Dr. Tarik Jan, Fayyaz Shah and others were briefed by former Chairman, JCOS Pakistan Admiral Sirohey, former Army Chief of Staff Mirza Aslam Beg, Dr. S.M. Rahman, former PsyOps Chief, Lt. General Hamid Gul, former Director General ISI and most of the top military staff that coordinated our efforts to remove the Soviets from Afghanistan. We then met with political party leaders and were briefed by the nations top think tanks. A few things became more than a bit clear.
Not only did nothing we were told by both official and unofficial sources match up with what was being reported in the news, we were able to verify that America had been involved in a vast and complex campaign of disinformation and deception against the American public, one designed to, not only blame Pakistan and everyone else for the deteriorating situation in the region but that American policies showed clear indications of America’s real purpose in Afghanistan being something very different than stated.
MARJEH, AFGHANISTAN, SURROUNDED BY OPIUM FIELDS
No group has ever met with people who have personally known all the leaders the Bush administration had designated as terrorist, including bin Laden. Without breaking personal confidences, one thing was clear. It is a humiliation for Pakistan, a country that is fighting for its life in a war against terrorism that has killed thousands there, including family members of some I met, to have to pretend to hunt for bin Laden, who all of us admitted had died many years before. In meetings with people whose names, out of courtesy I omit, we all looked across the room from each other and rolled our eyes back into our heads. The general agreement is that the Easter Bunny would be easier to find that bin Laden and represents a greater threat to American security.
Bin Laden, himself, is an enigma. Most of the statements credited him when he was alive were mistranslated. According to those who are the world’s foremost experts on bin Laden and military operations in the region, bin Laden never had a major following nor was he ever in control of any worldwide terrorist organization. In fact, the other major terrorist leader, Mullah Omar, when described by close associates of the American effort in Afghanistan, is also described as never a terrorist leader of any kind. Mullah Omar is spoken of, in general, with great affection and seen as a folk hero by millions. Where Hikmatyar has enemies and a reputation for brutality while working for the CIA, Mullah Omar is greatly respected. Nobody sees Omar, or most of the other leaders we list as major international terrorists as anything but minor players with little more than bodyguards and household staff. Everyone “in the know” claims the US simply makes it all up just to fool the public.
WHY TARGET BIN LADEN?
Bin Laden’s history is a strange one. His family has had direct ties to the Bush family for years, with close friendships and complex financial interrelationships. On at least one occasion, George “W” Bush was bailed out of a business failure by bin Laden money. The bin Laden’s were the portal that former Reagan administration cabinet officers used to get into business with Saudi Arabia, making billions in profits through takeovers of several major American arms companies. Nearly 100 billion dollars, most from “Operation Desert Storm” countries is managed by Bush and his associates, investing in everything from arms, to slave labor operations in the Middle East to the ownership of Dunkin Donuts.
President George “W” Bush’s first priority after 9/11 was to get all bin Laden family members out of the United States and away from the FBI. The next flight out, when every other plane was grounded, went to Israel.
What we do know about Usama bin Laden is that he denied any direct involvement in 9/11. Any reports to the contrary have all been discredited and traced back to agencies fronting for Israeli intelligence services. Another thing we know is that Usama bin Laden worked for the CIA for years. We are also told that he was moved from place to place on American planes and received medical care at US facilities for advanced kidney disease. FBI translator Sibel Edmonds has confirmed that bin Laden and other terrorist leader were regular passengers on US government flights. The FBI called these passengers, “bin Ladens” in official documents. Attorney General John Ashcroft ordered Sibel Edmonds silenced for 6 years. Now the press has a “blackout” on her testimony, statements supported by documentation that prove many high officials of the Bush administration and members of congress to be involved in espionage against the United States.
GULBUDDIN AND THE FAILED MYTH OF INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM
Thus, when I had been told all that time that the great terrorist leader, one busy planning attacks against the United States, Gulbuddin Hikmatyar, has been working with us all along, and that other “major leaders” were never leaders at all and that bin Laden was never really the “bin Laden” we thought, it all comes apart. Combining that with the FBI revelations that the US has been flying, not only terrorists around but plane loads of opium and it all falls apart. There are no terrorist leaders, there are no international terrorist organizations and those “all too timely” terror attacks we seem to have are no more real than the phony bin Laden tapes the Israelis send us.
If Gulbuddin was ours when we were supposedly out hunting him, was bin Laden also? Mullah Omar? The others? In fact, we seemed to have gotten out of the Bush years, with not only no credible intelligence on anything but even our useless information has now proven unusable as it also was illegally obtained through wiretaps that violated criminal law.
Is it any surprise that dozens of people died today in attacks in Iraq, the country we supposedly pacified at a cost in lives and money that has yet to be tabulated?

GORDON DUFF: TERRORISM, ALWAYS SUSPECT A “FALSE FLAG” FIRST : Veterans Today
REAL TERRORISTS ARE RARE AND USUALLY EASILY CAUGHT
ALWAYS ASK: “WHO GAINS FROM THIS?
By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER/Senior Editor
Every time there is a terrorist attack, the nations blamed say that it was a “false flag” operation. This is what America did to cover up My Lai. We were lying. Germans claimed Poland invaded Germany in 1939. An educated guess is that 75% of terrorist attacks we hear of were staged, never happened or were done by “radical groups” that were first infiltrated, then controlled and eventually financed and supplied by intelligence agencies. Intelligence agencies are, in actuality, the biggest terrorist organizations in the world. The CIA has blown up more buses, airplanes and markets than any almost anyone else. The Mossad may be number one, followed by, well, everyone, the RAW, ISI, MI-6, IRA and dozens of others.
Either directly or through idiots, clones (operatives using false identity to look like “terrorists”) or through simply doing it themselves, these groups promote national policy by destabilizing nations, swinging elections or defaming religious, national or political groups by staging attacks and using the press to place the blame. The popular video game Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 even has a terrorist attack on a transportation center in Moscow built into it, a “false flag” attack. Today, the real thing happened.
MOSCOW "FALSE FLAG" ATTACK IN VIDEO GAME
FRANCESCO COSSIGA, FORMER PRIME MINISTER, PRESIDENT AND MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR OF ITALY SPILLS HIS GUTS
With communism threatening to overrun Europe, NATO set up terrorist groups under Operation Gladio (short sword) to act as guerrilla armies in case Europe was overrun. As this became less and less likely, intelligence services began using the terrorist groups meant to fight Russia to manipulate politics in Europe through terrorist acts, such as bombings. We wouldn’t know the details if Cossiga, one of the planners of Operation Gladio, hadn’t spilled his guts about this and other “false flag” operations in Europe and elsewhere. This is what Cassiga told Robert Maroni, Italian Minister of the Interior about methods employed to control civil protests in Italy:
“Maroni should do what I did when I was Minister of the Interior.
“University students? … infiltrate them with agents provocateurs … and let the agents provocateurs devastate shops, set fire to cars and put cities to the sword for ten days.
“Then, having won the sympathy of the public … the police should pitilessly beat the shit out of protesters and send them all to hospital. “
One of the operational leaders of Operation Gladio, representing NATO with the CIA, was Vincezo Vinciguerra who stated under oath:
“You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the Italian public, to turn to the state to ask for greater security. This is the political logic that lies behind all the massacres and the bombings which remain unpunished, because the state cannot convict itself or declare itself responsible for what happened.”
When the Italian parliament investigated, a number of allegations arose. It seemed that one of the Gladio operations was a train bombing in Bologna in 1980 which killed 85 people. This was supported by both physical evidence and significant testimony. It was also discovered that “Palestinian terrorists” operating in Europe including Abu Nidal were working for the CIA and Mossad. Investigations by the Italian parliament reported the following about Stefano delle Ciaie.
A neo-fascist group tied to extremist Masonic lodges in Italy had formed a political action cell called “P2.” Though none of this was reported in the US, this group, tied directly to NATO intelligence services was linked to terrorist acts throughout Europe and even in South America. The report reads as follows:
“In December 1985 magistrates in Bologna issued 16 arrest warrants, including at least three to P-2 members, accusing members of the Italian intelligence service SISMI of first planning and then covering up the Bologna bombing. One of these 16 was P-2’s leader Licio Gelli, who had spent most of the post-war years in Argentina. A small group of anarchists, penetrated by delle Chiaie’s man Mario Merlino, were blamed at first for the Piazza Fontana bombing, even though Sismi knew within six days that delle Chiaie was responsible, and Merlino had planted the bomb.”
Osama AIPACTHE “BUZZ WORDS” OF MURDER
We now use terms like “Low Intensity Conflict” and “Surrogacy Warfare” to describe terrorism operated by governments against either foreign governments or, more often, their own people. Most “false flag” attacks are used to influence elections or to push through “Patriot Act” and “FISA” type legislation or to justify acts like the invasion of Iraq. Control of both the press and any potential investigation makes such operations a mainstream effort of national policy, so commonplace that those who work in intelligence or at the highest levels of law enforcement automatically write off major terrorism incidents as staged.
In Vietnam, Operation Phoenix was terrorism, meant to kill civilian “communists” including doctors, nurses, teachers and even religious leaders. We ran similar programs in Central America for years, killing thousands, nuns, reporters, union leaders and moderate politicians we were afraid would eventually join with communists. It was a horrible embarrassment to the CIA that the “communist dictatorship” in Nicaragua was voted out of office in an open election they sponsored. We had been running death squads throughout that country from our bases on Honduras for years.
Similar operations have been staged all over the world, from Chile to Korea to Indonesia, the Philippines and the United States. Half the bombings during the 60s and 70s were planned or influenced by “informants” or “agent provocateurs” as described by Cossiga. The massive infiltration of the militia movements of the 80s and 90s brings the Oklahoma City bombing into question.
EVERY DAY, ALL OVER THE WORLD
If a train or bus blows up in London, it is best to look at who is visiting, what political party is going to gain or what scandal needs to be pushed off the front page. In India, the Mumbai attacks, blamed on Pakistan, did nothing for Pakistan. Who gained? Israel gained as did India, gained massively. When a school is blown up in Pakistan and blamed on the Taliban, Pakistan doesn’t believe the Taliban had anything to do with it. When Iran is attacked from Balochistan, it knows nobody in Balochistan planned the attack.
Yes, there are real terrorists, people without hope who are pushed to extremism through exploitation, often by religious fanatics or hucksters. For every Maddrassa in Pakistan, there is a church in the US, perhaps ten, advocating beliefs that can lead nowhere but to violence.
BREEDING TERRORISM AT HOME
Radicals within the United States have always been a serious problem. A good analytical tool is the simple public poll. It reveals how gullible a population is and how easy they would be to fool. The primary groundwork for terrorism is control of the press and the molding of public opinion. With foreign governments with highly suspect intelligence agencies infiltrating the press, as they have in the United States, there is little doubt that providing cover for “false flag” terrorism is in the cards.REAL TERRORISTS ARE RARE AND USUALLY EASILY CAUGHT ALWAYS ASK: “WHO GAINS FROM... more-

A little secret about Obama's transparency - Los Angeles Times
The current administration, challenged by the president to be the most open, is now denying more Freedom of Information Act requests than Bush did.
March 21, 2010|By Andrew Malcolm
The Democratic administration of Barack Obama, who denounced his predecessor, George W. Bush, as the most secretive in history, is now denying more Freedom of Information Act requests than the Republican did.
Transparency and openness were so important to the new president that on his first full day in office, he dispatched a much-publicized memo saying: "All agencies should adopt a presumption in favor of disclosure, in order to renew their commitment to the principles embodied in FOIA, and to usher in a new era of open government. The presumption of disclosure should be applied to all decisions involving FOIA."The current administration, challenged by the president to be the most open, is now... more-
