Fans of rapper Juelz Santana in Grand Rapids, Michigan were disappointed last night (April 3) when the popular rapper canceled his show, due to medical reasons. Santana was supposed to perform at Club 131, which is located inside of the Deltaplex Arena and Conference Center.
Fans who arrived were given a flyer instructing them to hold on to their tickets, as the promoter vowed to scheduled a make up date.
Juelz Santana’s show in Grand Rapids was canceled because the rapper had to undergo surgery for a root canal.
“A! Grand Rapids. I'm not gonna make it 2nite. Had 2 get a root canal,” Juelz Santana stated via Twitter. “Respect 2 promoter RIO. Makeup date is coming. Keep da peace.”

Dipset's Juelz Santana recently said he has been in touch with Lil Wayne during his current incarceration
Talking with radio host DJ Whoo Kid, Juelz said he is trying to protect Wayne during his stay on Rikers Island.
"Wayne is like my brother, that's my dude," Santana said in an interview. "I stay in contact with him pretty much every so often. Yeah, he's locked up in New York -- we gonna set the homie out. That's all I'm gonna say, we gonna set the homie out. We gonna make sure the homie right. I promise you, I'm gonna set the homie out. This is our city, you know we got a lot of people around the area so we gotta make sure the homie's good. [The inmates], they love Weezy but you got idiots everywhere you go. It's just like going to a club, there's always on idiot. That's what I'm saying and they always think it's us [causing problems.]" (Radio Planet TV)
T-Pain recently said the rapper's one-year jail bid has delayed their duet project.
"The T-Wayne album, we're actually gonna wait until he gets out," Pain said in an interview. "He has so much going on. He has Rebirth out right now. I don't wanna interrupt that. We just gonna wait until he gets out to really get in on that. We recorded a bunch of songs. But, right now, it's time for him and his personal sh--. We definitely got an album's worth of material, but it's only an album's worth. It's nothing to pick from. We just got an album. We can put out whatever we feel like and say, 'Hey, this is T-Wayne's album,' or we can actually try to make it good. Like we're actually trying to make an album and say, 'This is the good T-Wayne album.' Rather than just record 12 songs and say, 'Here you go, mutha----as! I know you want it. You gonna buy it anyway, just 'cause you think it's good.'" (MTV)
Since being placed behind bars earlier this month, Wayne has already experienced restrictions due to his fame.
A rep for the Correction Officer's Benevolent Association tells us officials issued the no autograph mandate because "Lil Wayne is not a celebrity in here." The rep also tells us Wayne isn't getting any special treatment while at Rikers -- but we're told the rapper really hasn't requested anything out of the ordinary. (TMZ)
He was officially sentenced to a year behind bars last week.
Lil Wayne has been sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty in a New York City gun case. The Grammy Award-winning rapper was taken away in handcuffs to start serving his term immediately after his sentencing. He'll serve his sentence in city jails, not a state prison. He could be released in about eight months with good behavior. (CBS News)Dipset's Juelz Santana recently said he has been in touch with Lil Wayne during... more
Dipset's Juelz Santana recently discussed sharing the microphone with G-Unit's Lloyd Banks on their smash hit "Beamer, Benz or Bentley" and why not all collaborations are necessarily good ones.
According to Santana, "Beamer" is his first joint record with the "Punch Line King."
"I knew what that song was gonna be when we did the record," Juelz said about his duet with Banks. "The beat is so unique, then you got two artists that's never done a record before. And it's a record that people would like to hear. It's a 'hood record and we was both spitting on there -- you rarely get that anymore, especially with two artists like me and Banks. A lot of time people teaming up and they just making records because the names sound good. But the records don't sound good because they either rushed or n---as just getting up just to get up. You know how they say when two artists get together and make a song how it is supposed to be? It completes everything we do. It's radio, but it's still hard. 'Beamer, Benz or Bentley,' that's still 'hood rich. It captures the essence that people would have liked for it to have with me and Banks on the same record." (MTV)
The duo's music video premiered earlier this week and featured a guest spot from rapper Beanie Sigel.
Finally! The video premiered today on MTV Jams. Glad to see Lloyd Banks back in the spotlight with a smash hit. If you look close enough (or even care), you'll catch Beanie Sigel making a cameo in the video, looking like an oprhan who needs a home. (Karen Civil)
Banks recently compared his "Beamer" record to the Lost Boyz's 1990's classic "Jeeps, Lex Copes, Bimas and Benz."
"'Lex Coupe, Bimas and Benz,' that's something I thought about after," he explained. "'Cause I asked somebody, 'when was the last record that was like that?' Then you hear like 'Chevy Ridin' High.' It was always old-school records. So 'Lex Coupe'... that was probably like the last one." "It's crazy cause we grew up in the same neighborhood," he said of the group. "Rest in Peace to [Freaky] Tah, I actually went to school with his brother." (XXL Mag)
Slim Thug and Fabolous are reportedly going to be on the song's remix.
"We did a remix to 'Beamer, Benz or Bentley," Fab said in an interview. "Yeah, they had reached out to me, I think I hadTwittered it or something so somebody had reached out to me like 'Yo, we would love to have you on the remix,' and I was like yeah that would be dope. Actually I worked with Banks before, I don't think it ever came out though, like something for his first project, I've been trying to dig up that song, [DJ] Clue been trying to dig it up as well, he's got his shovel. I guess it's in the G-Unit fort." (This Is 50)Dipset's Juelz Santana recently discussed sharing the microphone with... more
You can catch Juelz Santana currently riding shotgun on one of the biggest records that have recently came out of New York with Banks' Beamer, Benz or Bentley. And for the fans, people who didn't forget Elz recently pulled a Loso by pushing back his mixtape again after it was scheduled to drop on Valentine's Day, but apparently Santana had a good reason.
"We got another record for the mixtape," Elz explaining how he & Banks will follow up their current record. "That record's actually got me, Fabolous, Jadakiss and Banks on it. ... We took the Estelle sample from 'American Boy' that goes 'Take me to New York' and kept repeating that. I sent it to everybody that I felt [could kill it], which was me, Fab, Banks and Jada. But me and Banks gonna have to do another one together with just me and him. That record is crazy. That Reagan Era is gonna be a problem — that's why I been taking my time strategically building up. I think now is a better time. Every day I'm drawing more attention to myself."
Santana also explained how he knew the record with Banks was gonna be a hit.
"I knew what that song was gonna be when we did the record," Speaking on Beamer, Benz or Bentley. "The beat is so unique, then you got two artists that's never done a record before. And it's a record that people would like to hear. It's a 'hood record and we was both spitting on there — you rarely get that anymore, especially with two artists like me and Banks. Ties have disconnected between Dip Set’s Juelz Santana and former Dip Set members, Mega and Mayhem (S.A.S.). The abrupt end to the business and personal relationship between UK’s duo and Dip Set’s Santana followed an incident that took place in the UK on August 31st, where promoters and a large crew of 30-40 followers surrounded the hotel Santana resided in, allegedly requesting money owed from Santana’s previous manager, Big Joe, for unfulfilled contract obligations which included 70,000 pounds, allegedly stolen from the promoters for two of Juelz’s performances that never took place.
Santana concluded a two-week European tour where he and S.A.S. touched the stage in various venues including Amsterdam, Sweden, and Switzerland. The night prior to the last scheduled performance the promoters and their entourage requested for Juelz to leave his hotel room and negotiate the fulfillment of former contractual obligations. Juelz allegedly refused to do so, as he requested police escorts.
