The El Orbits is a band that specializes in the great music heard throughout the southwest United States, and particularly Texas, through the last 40 years. The band likes to play sets comprising of pop radio swing standards from the 50's and 60's, country hits from your grandfather's AM car radio, and nearly forgotten Gulf Coast R&B favorites.

Paul Beebe has been playing guitar since the sixth grade and has a BA in Music (Theory) from Tulane University in New Orleans. Making a living as a musician, Paul focuses most of his compositional efforts on his solo efforts, and sings lead and plays Rhythm Guitar in an original band called Reading Days, which is on temporary hiatus. He also sings and plays Bass in Beetle, Thunderado, and The Light Rock Express, and Drums in The Small Sounds, and sings lead and dances in the hottest new disco band in town, Disco Expressions. Beetle performs at The Continental Club in Houston for the No Cover Happy Hour show every Thursday from 7-10pm. Paul also plays his Solo Show at The Big Top Lounge next to The Continental Club the first Friday of each month from 10pm to approximately 1am, when he does not have prior engagements (See Events for listings). For over 67 years artists have been recording music at this recording-industry icon. The Big Bopper recorded "Chantilly Lace" here, Freddy Fender recorded "Before the Next Teardrop Falls" here. A parade of artists that reads like a who's who of music history,The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, Todd Rundgren, Smashmouth, Ted Nugent, Johnny Winters, Janis Joplin and so many more have filled these studios with memorable sounds and memories.
