"The bloodbath in Karachi continues. The death toll in the last week alone has reached over 100. A glance at the online tally of dead bodies in Karachi leaves not much room for hope in Pakistan's largest city. The citizens appear helpless, the government looks impotent, and the future looks grimmer by the day...""The bloodbath in Karachi continues. The death toll in the last week alone has... more

Karachi has long been the face Pakistan wished to show to the world. The port city, one of the largest cities in the world -- placed sixth or seventh, depending on whom you ask, with a population of more than 18 million -- once represented the ideal of what Pakistan ought to have been

This film is a short insight in the happenings on 28th December 2010 in Bolton Market, karachi, Pakistan where after an blast during a procession, 100's of shops were burned down by the people for the people in an organized planned manner. Not only our culture and heritage but 1000's of lives went into flames. What we have become is the product of our own doings and this is what this film emphasizes on.

It's been nearly a year since Pakistani militants' deadly attacks on Mumbai, and the NY Times reports that the group responsible, Lashkar-e-Taiba, is still alive and kicking.
Despite pledges from Pakistan to dismantle militant groups operating on its soil, and the arrest of a handful of operatives, Lashkar has persisted, even flourished, since 10 recruits killed 163 people in a rampage through Mumbai, India’s financial capital, last November.
Indian and Pakistani dossiers on the Mumbai investigations, copies of which were obtained by The New York Times, offer a detailed picture of the operations of a Lashkar network that spans Pakistan. It included four houses and two training camps here in this sprawling southern port city [Karachi] that were used to prepare the attacks.
Not great news for India or for India's testy relationship with its neighbor, Pakistan. The NYTimes also points out that the influence of the group could hurt coalition efforts in Afghanistan. Pakistan has become the fulcrum of a lot of the battle against international terror, what with the remnants of Al Qaeda in its Northwest Frontier Province, and being the home base for the Mumbai attacks of last year. But is Pakistan doing enough to combat terror? Is the ISI, the country's spy agency, secretly backing some of these groups? Or does the government have enough power to effectively fight terror?

At least 25 people have been killed and dozens injured in a suicide bombing on a Shia Muslim march in the Pakistani city of Karachi, officials say.
The attacker was walking in the middle of a procession with tens of thousands of people, said the interior minister.
After the explosion, marchers turned their anger on security forces, journalists and ambulance workers.
Pakistan's security forces had been on high alert as Shia Muslims marked the holy month of Muharram, or Ashura.
Monday was the climax of the holy period, which commemorates the death of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, which comes amid an upsurge of attacks by Taliban militants in Pakistan.

I am grateful to Mr. Don Harkins the editor of THE IDAHO OBSERVER, (USA) and her associates Ms. Anne Wilder Chamberlain to help me prepare my story.
The following short note comes from them:-
KHALID
When we first began corresponding with Khalid Awan in 2007, we had no idea why he was serving time in U.S federal prison. We soon discovered Awan was one of the first of thousands of Muslims taken prisoner in the post-9/11 U.S "terror War". As the story began unfolding in our letters, we began to realize that this honest, humble and sincere man was not only innocent, but the ongoing injustice being done to him provides critical insight into the mindless, mean-spirited, bureaucratic-yes-men idiocy fueling the illegal U.S. "War on Terror" (and just about everything else that is going wrong in this country). At our insistence, Awan wrote his story and supplied us with whatever documents we requested. And now, after three months of cooperative efforts, the story of Khalid Awan can be told. We have come to know Awan as a peaceful man engaged in peaceful work, who has been wrongfully accused, detained and repeatedly convicted of crimes he did not commit because he was a Muslim with international connections and an office in New York on 9/11. Anyone who might of the Muslim belief, especially a person raised overseas who has difficulty understanding our language and our corrupt judicial system, can be arrested and detained indefinitely in this country, certainly without a trial before a jury of his peers. Khalid is one of these Muslims.
We present this to you in faith that you will realize a deeper understanding of the levels of complicity necessary for the "land of free" to tolerate the phony war on terror year after year and in hope that Awan --- and all the other million or more political prisoners being held by this country---will one day be reunited with their families.
(Thanks from the bottom of my heart to you, Mr. Don Harkin and Ms. Anne W. Chaimberlain for your devoted, caring attention in helping me expose my plight and injustices being suffered by myself and others. Your humanitarian devotion, on-going help and attitude truly an inspiration to me in my life!)

Pakistan broadcasting officials are turning off the transmissions of important programs whenever they feel like to.......
When ever there were discussions about solving racial or religious issues......TV broadcasting was shut off abruptly.
GEO TV was broadcasting the famous movie"THE MESSAGE", and suddenly the broadcasting was shut off from SATELLITE owners or Pakistan's PAMRA'S officials.
This is the most bizarre feeling I ever had.
Sincerely,

Even though Islam and Prophet Mohammad has allowed to marry with choice of freedom, majority of the people in Pakistan are not ready to practice what they preach about marriage. Almost all parents are aware of this fact and the right of an individual to marry and have family with choice and freedom, but they don't allow their own children to marry by love or choice.
So many areas in Pakistan, nowadays, have such incidents in which the boy or girl have been murdered and killed just because they did a love marriage.
A shameful situation for Muslim Community, which needs to be addressed by Government of Pakistan and High level clerics so that people put this in their practice not to bother youth about their marriage issues.
This is their basic right to marry and have family. Some parents are so ignorant that they pressurized their kids with threat of taking off their name from the will so that they won't be able to et anything from the property or wealth. Some parents beat their kids and try to scare them off from marrying with their choice of bride or groom.
A shameful situation for Pakistan.Even though Islam and Prophet Mohammad has allowed to marry with choice of freedom,... more

People of Karachi and students mostly, greatly suffer from transportation problems. There is a great shortage of buses here.
People needs new and better buses in which they can travel comfortably not standing tightly next to each other, or sometimes sitting on the top of the buses as you can even see one overloaded bus in the last picture.
Government of Pakistan should care more about the issues and problems, its citizens are confronting. Like electricity, water, transportation etc.People of Karachi and students mostly, greatly suffer from transportation problems.... more

Dear world nations and donors,
When the basic life requirements of people would be fulfilled, only then people can relax and live a healthy and peaceful life.
So my request is to please come yourself to Pakistan and incest this money yourself in department of electricity or start projects of electricity, water, food and stuff like that.
So that people do not suffer these basic amenities anymore.
You can give what ever money to the government of Pakistan, but people do not see any improvement in their lives. And it has been happening for 60 years now.
People are suffering electricity shortages on every day basis, students cannot study, people can not run their electronic equipment, no lights, its just very bad situation.
People do not have sweet water to drink even in many areas in Karachi, the biggest city of Pakistan. How would that feel?
People have to buy water to drink. That is insane.
So please please please come Pakistan and incest that money in your presence, do not give that money to Pakistan's official.
People do not trust them completely, how can they? since they are not helping them anyway...................
Thanks
Sincerely,
People of PakistanDear world nations and donors,
