"How did you spend the Fourth of July? Maybe having a BBQ with friends and family, watching a fireworks show, and generally enjoying a happy patriotic holiday? Batshit-insane American Quitter Sarah Palin ended her own special “Independence Day” by posting a series of desperate grammar-challenged nonsense and vicious threats on her Facebook and Twitter pages. Senator Ensign, Governors Palin and Sanford all prominent members of their party and legitimate contenders for the next Republican nominee for President have once again proven the adage - they go in threes. More shocking then the recent rash of celebrity deaths is the death of these political careers. Much like the death of pop star Michael Jackson, the methods of the politicians demise is most intriguing.
What is truly afoot here? Has the public intellect finally evolved to the point where the mindless madness of the Republican mantra is no longer effective? Is this a super secret plot of Mitt Romney's or Rudy Giuliani perhaps? More likely than not they are the victims of the instant information age making the politics of hypocrisy all but obsolete. Failure to adjust, to adapt is thinning the heard and these are the latest and most prominent casualties.Senator Ensign, Governors Palin and Sanford all prominent members of their party and... more

In the end of her note today on Independence day:
"I shared with you yesterday my heartfelt and candid reasons for this change (resignation as governor of Alaska); I’ve never thought I needed a title before one’s name to forge progress in America. I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint. I hope you will join me. Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness!
God bless you! And I look forward to making a difference – with you!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said Friday she will resign this month and will not run for re-election as governor.
"I'm not seeking re-election," Palin told a news conference at which she said she would transfer authority to Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell.
Palin was Republican presidential candidate John McCain's vice presidential running mate in last year's election and rallied the party's conservative base. There has been speculation that she would seek to be the Republican Party's presidential candidate in 2012.
"We know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time," she said.
Palin said her decision came after much "prayer and consideration." She did not want to waste time on "political blood sport" and cited public criticism of her actions and her family since the 2008 campaign.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- The abuse-of-power investigation of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was unraveling Wednesday, with most key witnesses refusing to testify, new legal maneuvering and heightened Republican pressure to delay the probe until after Election Day.
Palin initially welcomed the investigation, saying "hold me accountable," but she has increasingly opposed it since Republican presidential candidate John McCain tapped her as his vice presidential running mate.
In a reversal of position, a key Democratic lawmaker said Wednesday he may convene the committee that is conducting the investigation into whether Palin dismissed her public safety commissioner when he would not fire a state trooper involved in a bitter divorce with her sister.
Some Republican members of the committee have asked for such a meeting, to consider delaying the probe or replacing Democratic state Sen. Hollis French as its manager. The investigation's conclusions are supposed to be released by Oct. 10. The Legislative Council, made up of 10 Republicans and four Democrats, had unanimously approved launching the probe.
A lawyer for five Alaska Republican legislators suing for a delay of the investigation known as Troopergate said he will wait - but not too long - to see what the Legislative Council, a joint bipartisan oversight panel, does before asking a judge for an injunction.
The chairman of the council, Democratic state Sen. Kim Elton, said he would poll other council members on whether to meet.ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- The abuse-of-power investigation of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin... more

Humanity needs LESS war, not MORE. Stopping the election of Palin-McCain may be equivalent to saving the world. I hope that grandchild you have in the oven is ready to enlist, Sarah. So s/he can fight the wars you dream of, because I sure as hell will not, and I will encourage every young person I know to stay away from the U.S. Oil Industry security force - I mean, the U.S. Military.
Yes, I understand the agreement of NATO, but you do realize that there are other nations in NATO, I hope. Lastly, why not use that awesome diplomacy skill you've developed since you live near Russia. Wow!
Let us move AWAY from war, please and stop Palin-McCain. Chickenhawks rejoice! The rest of us need to elect Obama.

I really don't understand why Sarah Palin has ambitions to rule the USA. Why would she want to be Vice President of a nation that is based on ideals so different from hers?
For example, she doesn't like freedom of the press, as shown by her curious interest in banning library books. She doesn't like the press at all, as shown by her running scared from the media. She scoffs at community organizing, which is it say, she scoffs at freedom of assembly. If she had any real respect for unions (as she claimed in her one speech) she wouldn't dare be a Republican, since that party has spent so much time working against unions.

Read this fascinating article on someone who accidentally ended up at a PALIN-mccain Photo-Op.
Why is Sarah Palin so terrified of the media? What is she scared of? Obama went on Fox on O'Reilly's show. She can't even talk to an iPhone.
She's clearly taking a page out of Dick Cheney's VP book and hiding in an undisclosed location, refusing to answer to those she wants to "lead." She's probably already planning her war crimes, too.
Sarah, please. If you're really so courageous, talk to the media. Hillary has been doing it for years. She's fearless and you're not!

Sept. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is bringing in campaign cash for the Democrats as well as her own party.
Barack Obama, 47, reported raising at least $10 million from more than 130,000 donors today after Palin, the Alaska governor, addressed the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, and criticized the Democratic presidential nominee.
``Sarah Palin's attacks have rallied our supporters in ways we never expected,'' Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said. ``And we fully expect John McCain's attacks tonight to help us make our grassroots organization even stronger.''
The money followed an e-mail solicitation campaign manager David Plouffe sent out right after Palin's speech.
``You know that despite what John McCain and his attack squad say, every day people have the power to build something extraordinary when we come together,'' he wrote.
McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, raised $10 million after Palin was selected as his running mate Aug. 29, part of his record $47 million haul last month.
``She's energized the base,'' said former New York Senator Alfonse D'Amato, who has raised at least $250,000 for McCain, 72. ``Money will not be a problem.''Sept. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is bringing... more

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Sen. John McCain of Arizona embarks on his final drive for the White House on Thursday night, accepting the Republican presidential nomination and addressing the party’s national convention from a stage that workers were hastily rebuilding to fit his “town hall” approach.
On the final day of the convention, a lot of the talk was still about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the vice presidential nominee, who gave her big introductory speech Wednesday night, less than a week after being chosen for the ticket.
McCain’s wife, Cindy, suggested in an interview that she does not agree with Palin’s support for a nearly total ban on abortions.
And the Democratic vice presidential nominee, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, declared that some news coverage of his Republican counterpart had been sexist.
Construction workers moved parts of the platform at the Xcel Energy Center to bring delegates closer to where McCain will give his acceptance speech, giving the stage a T-shape. Organizers said the change reflected the town hall-type forums in which McCain has campaigned.
“The extended podium will serve as a fitting complement to John McCain’s preference for direct interaction with his fellow citizens,” said Maria Cino, the convention’s chief executive.

(CNN) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin accepted the GOP vice presidential nomination at the party's convention Wednesday with a speech highly critical of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.
Palin, who was mayor of a small town before she became governor of Alaska almost two years ago, slammed Obama for what she insisted was his lack of political experience and accused him of being two-sided when he is appealing to voters.
Her speech received raucous applause from the convention crowd in St. Paul, Minnesota, and an equally strong reaction from iReporters across the country.
"She came in with bats swinging and hit a home run with me," said iReporter Barbara Grant of New Haven, Connecticut.
Grant, who voted for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry in 2004, said she plans to vote for Republican candidate Sen. John McCain in November. She is pleased with his choice of running mate. "[Palin] seems like a very solid person," Grant said. "I look forward to hearing more of what she has to say."

“Palin Power” may represent conservative principles and women’s ascension, but it could just as well mean purchasing power. After Gov. Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech last night, merchandise with her name or likeness is super hot.
The auction site eBay offers Palin pins, pouches and paperweights, magnets and mugs, caricatures and clocks, window decals and license plates, T-shirts and iron-ons. Rosie the Riveter revisits, and pink bumper stickers scream, “It’s a Girl!”
A 1982 Wasilla High School yearbook is going for $150. An autographed pass to a Republican National Convention event starts at $49.99.
Real estate in cyberspace costs a little more. A handful of Palin-related domain names are being sold on eBay, with starting prices that range from $500 (for PalinRSS.com) to $7,000 (for SarahPalin.me).
Opportunistic sellers are ascribing Palin endorsements to ordinary items. A yellow Sprint back pack is being billed as a “Sarah Palin VP back pack” (”look good while traveling”), and a legend knife appears under the capitalized headline “SARAH PALIN COUNTRY!!”
The demand for Palin merchandise underscores the velocity of her ascent. Marketers are scrambling to catch up to the woman whom Mr. McCain introduced one week ago.
Amazon.com is “temporarily out of stock” of the only Palin biography, “Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska’s Political Establishment Upside Down.” Only 7,000 copies were printed this spring, and the publisher is now rushing a paperback edition.“Palin Power” may represent conservative principles and women’s... more

Leaders of the congressional Republican campaign against parochial pet projects in spending bills joined the party’s aggressive campaign to promote the vice-presidential candidacy of Sarah Palin on Wednesday, labelling the Alaska governor a “reformed earmarker,” who could be trusted to help trim wasteful spending from federal budgets.
“When it comes to earmarks, McCain-Palin is a reformer’s dream and a pork-barreler’s nightmare,” Rep. Jeb Hansarling of Texas said at a hastily-arranged news conference.
“There’s one person in this race who’s actually vetoed earmarks, and her name is Gov. Sarah Palin ,” said Hensarling, who chairs the Republican Study Commission, a group of fiscally conservative House members.
As an Arizona senator for two decades, McCain has lambasted colleagues in both parties with equal fervor for their pursuit of line-items in appropriations bills that commit slivers of the federal budget to public works back home, some of them with little evident merit. As president, he has said, he would have no hesitation to veto spending bills with such earmarks. “ John McCain was fighting wasteful government spending before fighting wasteful government spending was cool,” said Rep. John Shadegg of Arizona.
The news conference was arranged to tamp down any worries in fiscally conservative circles about Palin, who’s commitment to budget discipline has come under scrutiny in the week since she was tapped by McCain for the No. 2 spot on the ticket.
When her nomination was announced Aug. 29, Palin declared that she had “told Congress ‘thanks, but no thanks’ on that Bridge to Nowhere” — a reference to the nearly $400 million appropriation for a bridge project to connect an island of 50 people to the mainland in Alaska, which became the focus of national ridicule and prompted a renewed congressional soul-searching about the propriety of earmarks. But, in fact, Palin supported the project as a candidate for governor and only turned against it after she took office, by which point it was no longer politically viable.Leaders of the congressional Republican campaign against parochial pet projects in... more

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."
In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."
Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there.
"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet.
Palin told graduating students of the church's School of Ministry, "What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys." As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.
"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
Palin attended the evangelical church from the time she was a teenager until 2002, the church said in a statement posted on its Web site. She has continued to attend special conferences and meetings there. Religious conservatives have welcomed her selection as John McCain's running mate.
Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, lamented Palin's comments.
"I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," he said. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."
The section of the church's Web site where videos of past sermons were posted was shut down Wednesday, and a message was posted saying that the site "was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days."ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska Gov.
