Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll announced her resignation Wednesday, a day after she was questioned by authorities investigating an Internet cafe company that she once represented.
Carroll's resignation letter to Gov. Rick Scott, dated Tuesday, offered no details about her reason for leaving. But Scott's chief of staff, Adam Hollingsworth, said she was interviewed by Florida Department of Law Enforcement officers Tuesday regarding her work with Allied Veterans of the World.
She resigned to ensure her ties to the company would not be a distraction for the administration, he said. Carroll had owned a public relations firm that represented that company.
While serving as a state lawmaker, Carroll's ties to the company were also questioned when she proposed a bill that would benefit internet cafes.
Carroll's aides said they had no immediate comment Wednesday.
Gov. Rick Scott's chief of staff, Adam Hollingsworth, released a statement explaining, "Individuals were arrested Tuesday for racketeering and money laundering charges in connection with Allied Veterans of the World's illegal gambling companies. Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll consulted for Allied Veterans while serving as a member of the Florida House of Representatives in 2009 and 2010. She was interviewed by Florida Department of Law Enforcement officers Tuesday regarding her work with the company. Lt. Gov. Carroll resigned in an effort to keep her former affiliation with the company from distracting from the administration's important work on behalf of Florida families. She made the right decision for the state and her family."
Report: New Florida laws hurt minority vote
Former Fla. Gov. Crist, once a Republican, now a Democrat
The owner of Allied Veterans was arrested Tuesday in Oklahoma on charges of racketeering. He is accused of making $290 million after supplying illegal gambling software in Florida and claiming the games' proceeds would benefit a veterans group. Oklahoma authorities say the group actually received only 1 percent of the money. Chase Egan Burns, 37, and his wife, 38-year-old Kristin Burns, both face extradition to Florida to face the charges. An attorney for Burns did not respond to a request for comment.
Chase Burns owns International Internet Technologies in Anadarko, about 60 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.
He and his wife were arrested after an investigation that spanned several years and involved the Internal Revenue Service and various law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma and Florida, including the sheriff's office in Florida's Seminole County,Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt's office.
A telephone number listed for Allied Veterans in St. Augustine has been disconnected. Multiple emails sent by The Associated Press to an address listed on the group's website weren't returned Tuesday evening.

Media Prepares Public to Accept Defeat of Prop 37 to Label GMOs.
Is the fix in for California’s Prop 37 before the polls even close later this evening?
Supposedly unbiased papers mirroring mega-corporate interests have lined up by the dozens to uncritically regurgitate the phony claims that GMO food is ‘tested’ and ‘safe’ throughout the election cycle. Now, they are celebrating their own success over cries to Californians to go back to sleep and ignore the public’s right to know, systematically campaigning to dull the senses and avoid sparking a movement that could have qucikly spread across the United States to demand labeling and greater transparency with genetically modified organisms on the market.
After weeks of the “No on 37″ crowd – Monsanto, DuPont, Pepsico, etc. – spending upwards of $46 million, and reportedly $1 million per day, to lobby against the food labeling initiative, with media lapdogs in tow, the MSM are reporting that Prop 37 may indeed fail.
Polls were initially clear, with over 60% of California voters clearly in favor of knowing what’s in their food. But a deluge of heavily-financed propaganda has sadly whittled that support down, with support for labeling (Yes on Prop 37) dropping to only 39% according to current reports.
Fudging poll numbers has its own science, as well as art, so it’s difficult to know if these numbers really represent Californians, but it is clear that it is influencing them to accept defeat before the fact. On election day, anyone combing the news is given the impression that Prop 37 has become a hopeless measure, even if the public in general have made clear that they want to know what is in the food they are eating.
But without a doubt, op-eds and even supposedly objective reports have boldly claimed that Prop 37 is not only much ado about nothing (there are already ways to choose organic, they say) but potentially costly and even damaging (by way of supposedly encouraging frivolous lawsuits over labels). The L.A. Times has predictably led the charge in this effort. Yesterday’s “Proposition 37 campaign is about everything but the meat,” blamed pro-labeling activists for trying to hold the other side accountable for misrepresenting quotes from the FDA, instead insinuating that the activists were the misleading ones. It further argues that Prop 37 is poorly written and would be ineffective, and this bunk argument is entirely typical.
These talking points are appearing all across the media in the final hours leading up to this election. The Christian Science Monitor asks suggestively if Prop 37 is really about ‘Safer food or invitation for lawsuits?‘ while Slate published ‘Delusions of Danger: Why the food movement’s demonization of genetically modified crops isn’t just scientifically baseless—it’s politically stupid.’ Meanwhile, others pen articles giving the misleading perception that biologists have been surveyed, and indeed ‘say ‘No’ on GMO Labels Proposition 37.‘ Indeed, there are many scientists against Prop 37, but at study of their ties to Big Agra would be very revealing of where their interests lie.
The Daily Nexus ridiculously argues ‘Don’t Let Frankenfoods Scare You.’ Patrick Allen, admittedly imaginative, argues the literary point, writing, “Perhaps if proponents of Prop 37 had access to a library they would realize how ironic the term “Frankenfood” (used to describe GMOs) is. The Frankenstein monster was actually an intellectually benign monster until he became hated by a hysterical mob.” The implication is clear – the right to know crowd is somehow hysterical, and themselves to blame for demanding food labels and sufficient testing for GMOs.
None of these and plenty of other dirty tricks are new, and bought out media has been a continuing problem for the movement trying to achieve food accountability.
Just days ago, the New York Times was engaged in trashing activists urging the Department of Justice to investigate the misrepresentation of the FDA’s position and misuse of their official logo by the ‘No on 37′ camp.
Monsanto & friends have formed their disinformation campaign around the issue of consumer wallets, deceitfully claiming that Prop 37 would cost people $400 per year in the handed-down costs of labeling, despite the fact that food companies have painlessly adapted to changes in labeling requirements over the years, such as nutritional content, and have jumped at opportunities to brag about supposed beneficially ingredients contained in their products. As if GMO mega-corps hellbent on domination really care about saving consumers money! Their effort is quite clearly a massive deception to fight transparency and keep herd-like Americans in the dark about the takeover of food staples with experimental crops....

Pt 1/2 [above img is 1024x768]
Hello,
What follows is an extremely important & URGENT msg that every US citizen should be aware of. We contemplated not releasing this info to the general public yet; however, after experiencing a significant postponement (& also realizing that at this point this matter is far too important to withhold from the public any longer) we decided against any additional release delay. One final thing that I would like to add to this intro is for artists that are inspired by some of what is displayed below. To all artists that are inspired to create art that they will exclusively freely share with the public you are encouraged to do so. The consent referenced below covers that...just include things like relevant links, relevant tags, and of course proper credit, etc. (again, refer to the consent). This even applies to those who feel inspired to record and freely share their own rendition of the included poem. We know how we will perform the poem when we release our video, but we nonetheless encourage others to freely share their vision...again, just remember the things like links, tags, credit, etc.
FYI, the below message is a variant that has been emailed to various entities that are, at least to an extent, capable of encouraging the execution of justice and capable of affecting change.
Thank you
----------------------------------------------
Being one that has been made aware of rampant & major public corruption that has extended to things such as the 2012 election (remember the June 2012 emails?) you have been forwarded this email. If you didn’t receive 1 or both of those emails then just ignore that statement & please review these new materials…they will “get you up to speed” on everything. There is a 1 page fact chart @ the following url:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/707/gatorgaitadiagram.jpg/
That chart, via imagery, tells a true & horrible story practically in 1 letter-sized pg and an accompanying supplement / investigative rprt / etc. fills in the gaps & fleshes out that true story in a manner that proves to be largely incontrovertible. For the record, there is a smaller (but nonetheless informative) chart that was added to the supplement as a “late addition” atop page 162. That chart makes the things that have occurred all the more disconcerting. FYI, there are bound to be some readers who aren’t happy about what they see on the 2 charts; therefore, I ask that all who receive this correspondence plz understand that the charts merely reflect facts. Having stated all that, the supplement is illustrated & spans 197 pages. The truthful supplement can be obtained at the following url:
http://pdfcast.org/pdf/epic-bicoastal-public-corruption-in-2012
[IT'S STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT READERS DON'T ATTEMPT TO READ THE PDFCAST PREVIEW SCREEN, BUT INSTEAD DOWNLOAD THE ENTIRE REPORT & READ FROM THAT. TOO MUCH CONTENT & FORMATTING ARE MISSING FROM THE PREVIEW FIELDS. IT IS ALSO SUGGESTED THAT VIEWERS READ THE ENTIRE INFORMATIVE POEM FIRST (READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE). THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE FOR NEW FOLLOWERS. FOR EVEN IF READERS DON'T YET KNOW EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON, THE POEM WILL HELP THOSE READERS QUICKLY IDENTIFY SOME OF THE ONGOING CORRUPTION-RELATED SHENANIGANS. CLICK THE "X" AT THE RIGHT/TOP OF THE PAGE AFTER CLICKING THE LINK.]
Obviously it may take a few minutes for the file to download. However, being 1 that is concerned w/ issues to which the report pertains you will quickly realize that the wait was worth it. While on the download process, I’ll add that there is a simple “human confirmation step” that must be completed. We felt that this was a better option than utilizing a service that requires viewers to relinquish their anonymity—relinquish it via a login process—in order to see the damning materials.
I will keep the “business end” of this email relatively brief for everything you need to know about the epic scandal is at the above urls. However, I will share four more things with you in this email. First, be sure to see the consent on page 197. Second, to all who are reading this if you don’t already know it, please realize that major/astounding/disturbing/frightful crimes are still underway. As the saying goes, “the proof is in the pudding”. And in this case pudding = report. Third, below is an informative poem that was penned specifically for the report. Fourth, the poem can be found on pages 183-185 and, for readers’ convenience, critical information (such as the embedded page numbers, etc.) is highlighted in the version of the poem that is included in the report. For those who find some of the pdf file’s print challenging to read please remember to zoom-in on the small text.
“The Induction of Gatorgait”
From Florida to Cali egregious crimes have been committed.
Undeniably, the righteous against the damned have been pitted.
During the course people and things upon have been sh!++@d
via acts even the worst heathens wouldn’t permitted.
Thus it’s time for Gatorgait’s perps to be sitted
behind perimeters of concrete, steel, razor wire, and glass.
Time for them to relinquish a few pounds of flesh from their a$$.
And that’s for each and every one of you poor excuses for humans…
so many acting like you’re only four administrations past Truman’s.
And from Harry to your figurative kindred spirit Henry…no not Ford or The Fonz…the one that is Fond
and trailed by an “uh”; like he you’ve enriched yourselves and put yourselves in gold…just not a pond.
It’s not even like Lake Alice at the university.
You see it’s like it’s more like it’s a sea
due to the fact that you’ve completely voluntarily
been abusing
the jobs in which you had some control…in choosing
to escape—that is, seemingly—the ranks of the demimonde.
Methinks you should have fought temptation, been satisfied with life’s lovely pond.
Alas that would be too simple. However, we shall not waste time & space and expound;
but the line of this poem that touches upon a miracle indicates with a deep look that you’ve turned it into a battleground.
We shall digress while on the subject of the word battleground. It’s interesting that in political circles Florida is referred to as that kind of state,
too bad for you we’re gonna bust your likely plan for the big steal of November ’12 before it’s too late.
Time to revisit Fonzarelli. For because your craps…make that crap-py ways
have messed up many-many-many “Hap-py Days”
fines and resigns…won’t suffice.
That’s absolute fact, it’s not time to play nice.
You’re wretched souls and you roll loaded dice.
We told “investigators” months ago via Yahoo! “this issue goes high”.
We’re not like you co-conspirators…unh-unh, see the June email referenced on page 194. We don’t lie.
Now you find yourselves in a spot like you tried to squeeze into a thing that’s tight,
but it’s your own d@mn fault cause time and time and time again you refused to do the thing that’s right.
Bad actors creating a laundry list that’s filled with problem after problem,
Henry of Fonz fame would say there’s no denying it’s gonna take “MacGyver” 2.0 plus some to solve all ’em.
Too much power…and you’re abusing it by a gross amount aren’t you?
Think we’ll call ya’ll Jay Roach, cause ya even directing us to a “Recount” - Part 2.
Antitrust hmm, Yahoo!’s beset by Google in an apparent corporate assail.
Pages 67, 72, 46, 47 & 154 in that telling sequence speak volumes…readers thinkin’ “Seriously?...Do tell.”
Monopoly has betrayed ALL OF YOU in - an - ep - ic - fail.
Like the dice game no delay GO - DI - REC - TLY - TO - JAIL!
Just like your victims can you say “time - in - liv - ing - he!!”?
Another quick note about Ya-hoo!
over which we won’t cry boo-hoo.
Is we’re gon-na keep go-ing

Pt 2/2 [above img is 1024x768]
(Cont. from part 1 @ http://current.com/community/93943807_epic-2012-election-impacting-scandal-amongst-casualties-florida-s-gov-rick-scott-google-part-1-of-2.htm )
and keep - the fight grow-ing,
enga-ging, and obviously alive.
But so readers can have more information on Yahoo! take a peek at page 45.
Now back to the hellions. Clearly you’ve behaved like the evilest heretics,
now you insult intelligence with talk about ethics.
You stamp everything with “In God We Trust”,
but horrible worldly things are truly what you lust.
Hubris and immorality unchained
and uncontained…
as has been previously implied,
in the midst of the numerous times you’ve lied & spied,
you’ve even spread your infection
to the people’s election.
Quick insert. So as not to receive unwarranted rejection
we urge readers to view pages 6-8, pages 54-57, the highlight (etc.) on page 165, and pages 160-162 in this fact collection.
Now let’s continue. Contract improprieties, fraud, collusion, rampant corruption, and other abuse
are the things that you bad cohorts, or should we say gang members of page 97, gladly opted to choose.
And it’s for the spoils and depravity those things yielded you’ll now lose.
Regarding some of that, Irby too signed to hide it.
Really poor choice, he should not have tried it.
See page 5 if he tries to deny it.
And is it possible that Holloway – was made to get the he!! away?
And if she was what problem could Eighth Circuit have – if the J.A. was let to stay?
Now you’re reacting like under your behind there has been placed a candle
after wrongly mobilizing your version of dogs of war in a failed covert attempt to “get a handle”,
having never righted the wrong that should have been fixed many moons ago before it raged into a scandal.
Like there’s no darkness, you call your home the state of “shining sun”.
That’s bullsh!t. Take a look at pages 2, 81, & 189-191.
Kreider, Martha, Mann…of the house…
better yet SAO & “Saus-”.
Or should we say “Spencer: For Hire”?
Zero that…correct that, make that Fire!
Stinson, Browning, Greene plus Greene, Governor Scott.
We could go for infinity so we’ll just add dot-dot-dot.
Readers there’s Painful Truth in this poem…plenty! Negative, make that really a Lott!
Remember Rosemary times 2 and Florida Voices, to all who forgot!!!
While on these people—but not those Marys of Rose—we’re thinking ‘bout Machen & Mayer,
do folks really think that they’ve played fair?
At this point here we must segue,
Yahoo! being the employer of Mayer we must say
is analogous to UF being the employer of Holloway.
If this were about point B on page 194 and it were a riddle
Google and Eighth Judicial Circuit would be the answers to “who’s playing the populace like a fiddle?”
This brings to mind Malcolm…I mean “Mountain View in the Middle”.
And with that, mental processes generating Intuit-ion
leads one to think that player Smith’s ambit-ion
has gotten him into an afoul posit-ion.
197 pages of pure condemnation…wow, that’s sad!
Incontrovertible proof, as this poem like a small Iliad suggests, that you’ve been epically bad.
During this homage to poems of Homer,
to call you all devils is not a misnomer.
This is the story of David and Goliath played out,
too bad Kreider didn’t read 1st Samuel 17 to know what his namesake’s story’s about.
See we know there are musings running through your collective mind.
You’re asking yourselves questions about things to which you are blind.
Saying to yourselves “how are they doing this?”, as you’re figuring the math.
But that’s your problem right there, your computation’s all wrong cause you’re guided by the wrong spiritual path.
See Google,
you’re being frugal
when it comes to your goodwill.
Penny-wise and pound foolish regarding “Don’t be evil”.
Once respectable,
now abjectable.
Those were true words to live by.
Now your corporate soul
has gotten ice cold
and you’re giving the dark side a try.
We’re hoping that you take heed; cause we’re envisioning automated breathing and things like “Luke I’m your father”.
That doesn’t pertain to he between Mark and John or the white-collared one in the chapel over yon; more like a galaxy far-far away so think a lil’ bit
farther.
But since good don’t help the “bottom line”- we know you don’t really give a d@mn - so part of me is thinking “why bother?”
You need some new habits…we suggest you go find a nun.
Are they rubbing off on you? Or are you rubbing off on them? Like your now-partner state of reported “shining sun”.
Now reader if you’re a skeptic…and you doubt their “good run” is done.
Before you object…to our prospect…take a glance at page 51.
On that note, thinking back to another era and to another “_omer”.
Actually to the one that precedes the former.
Brings to mind our beloved Gomer,
as in Pyle,
who would certainly revile…
and lay blame…and exclaim…
“s-h-a-m-e – shame – shame – shame – shame”.
But back to things that are impacting presently,
of the main original three
there seems to be
only one with complete integrity.
So for that we give to Ripoff Report and Ed “mad props”.
That’s for not relenting…no shameful flip-flops.
Being absolutely clear…about whose side…you’re on.
Not sabotaging the right…for the cause…of the wrong.
What we’ve evidenced…on pages 40, 107, 122, etc.…definitely doesn’t belong.
While on that subject, we’re kinda torn about this.
Don’t wanna make him a bigger target, but at the same time we don’t wanna diss.
So all we’re gonna say is Bill Windsor…those who follow…understand.
Only thing that needs to be stated…are two words…good man.
Regarding fighters for truth and justice…we know…there more.
We’re asking that you all please…do not…be sore.
Realize there are other things we’ve gotta focus on cause we’re entrenched in war.
Like we’ve gotta concentrate on using logic and our wit and being clever
and using these wrongdoers’ wrongs against them as an invincible lever.
Because from a sick and twisted perspective
that unfortunately, in the past, has likely proven to be exploitable and quite effective.
The victimizers are used to victimizing those that, regarding resourcefulness, they know are categorically rusty.
But to their dismay we’re not amongst that rusty group…unequivocally not…trust me.
And we’re determined to make a miracle happen as we contemplate things like broken-system fixing, 35th, game-changer, and the Battle of Olustee.
Take notice. Reminiscent of an underdog those named near the bottom are a 10th round 1-2 punch,
fighters for justice gonna eat your lunch.
Unimagineable stress, 60 pounds of muscle 1’s lost.
But don’t be mistaken that body weight that you’ve cost
has done little more than get the vic to fighting size,
as implied in the “Bernie report”, by the time this is over we’re gonna blacken all your eyes.
We’re blessed by a power that ya’ll can’t understand,
it’s heavenly omnipotent and surpasses any man.
Excuse our interweaving of verse of the everyday secular
with that of the higher level of ecclesiastical regular.
Delving into the worldly vernacular
oftentimes makes the message spectacular
enough to be broadcast to a broad segment of the masses.
This important message must reach people of all classes.
Having said that we’re going H.A.aM. and trashing ya’lls bologna.
This history of victory is gonna serve as a dual-purpose testimony.
Trust what is written cause nuthin’ we write is ever phony.
Change is here,
you evildoers shall now truly know fear.
In your nightmares the next names’ll ring loud and clear!
Gibson and Ghandi…two sequential Real G’s of one season.
Obviously then there is more than one reason;
reasons for which you will forever remember October.
But regarding your impunity, it’s when the scorecard finally read…GAME - OVER.

This part is funny. She tried to plead "no contest," but the judge wouldn't let her and changed the plea to "guilty."
From the article:
"Kelly Rindfleisch, 43, served as Walker's deputy chief of staff in Milwaukee County in 2010 and spent much of her time at her taxpayer-funded job doing campaign work for Brett Davis, a Republican state representative who was then running for lieutenant governor, as well as Walker, her criminal complaint said. Rindfleisch, whose desk was about 25 feet away from Walker's office, frequently used a secret wireless Internet system to communicate with Davis, Walker campaign staffers and other campaign workers, according to the complaint.
Walker had been subpoenaed to appear as a witness in Rindfleisch's case, first by prosecutors, then by the defense. Her plea agreement spares him from taking the witness stand and testifying in open court.
Rindfleisch may be called as a witness in the trial of another former top Walker aide, Tim Russell, who is accused of embezzling more than $20,000 from veterans and their families. Russell's trial is scheduled to begin in early December.
Another former Walker aide, Darlene Wink, has pleaded guilty to a charge related to the John Doe investigation into Walker's former aides and associates. The investigation has already led to charges for six people. Former Walker appointee Kevin Kavanaugh has been on trial in Milwaukee this week.

BRAVO! BRAVO! ~ The Public Could Really Use A Super Hero Right About Now!
Gerard Ange'// 02-27-2011
The online activist group "Anonymous," which in the past has used coordinated denial of service attacks ~ to temporary disable websites belonging to foes ranging from The Church of Scientology to late last year; MasterCard, Visa and Paypal after their attacks on WikiLeaks. More Recently, (in the last two months) Anonymous has set their sties higher, and had a very active rolls in Targeting three Fascist Regimes and assisting the citizens of Tunisia and Egypt in ousting their Brutal Dictators.
And even more recently (within the last few weeks) averting bold attacks by a military DOD defense contractor "HBGary Federal" exposing multiple plots by Bank of America and plots by "THe US Chamber of Commerce" to Finance HBGary to target and attack activists who support Labor Unions and "The US Labor Movement" thus exposing a plan in progress to conduct Cyber Warfare against US Citizens by HBGary Federal.
Anonymous has yet again.... taken on a persona of a "Public Super Hero" Defending the public interest like "Batman" or, Superman! Anonymous in a Bold move to "Support the Labor Movement and all Middle Class Americans " has turned their skills and talents against the billionaires who funded Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker;...none other than... David and Charles Koch. In the last few hours targeted their conservative group "Americans for Prosperity", making the group's website intermittently unavailable tonight.
The Attack followed the typically press release, that states:
"Dear Citizens of the United States of America,
It has come to our attention that the brothers, David and Charles Koch--the billionaire owners of Koch Industries--have long attempted to usurp American Democracy. Their actions to undermine the legitimate political process in Wisconsin are the final straw. Starting today we fight back.
...Anonymous cannot ignore the plight of the citizen-workers of Wisconsin, or the opportunity to fight for the people in America's broken political system. For these reasons, we feel that the Koch brothers threaten the United States democratic system and, by extension, all freedom-loving individuals everywhere. As such, we have no choice but to spread the word of the Koch brothers' political manipulation, their single-minded intent and the insidious truth of their actions in Wisconsin, for all to witness.
...Anonymous hears the voice of the downtrodden American people, whose rights and liberties are being systematically removed one by one, even when their own government refuses to listen or worse - is complicit in these attacks. We are actively seeking vulnerabilities, but in the mean time we are calling for all supporters of true Democracy, and Freedom of The People, to boycott all Koch Industries' paper products. We welcome unions across the globe to join us in this boycott to show that you will not allow big business to dictate your freedom."
The DDOS attack appears to have made Americans for Prosperity's website intermittently unavailable, but it will likely serve as a shot across the bow among conservatives groups that have funded Governor Scott Walker's and the on going Attacks on Labor across this country.

Last time we checked in with PayPal, it, along with MasterCard, Visa and others had blocked its services with regards to donations to WikiLeaks foundation.
Today it is being reported that PayPal has taken further action against another WikiLeaks-related fund, in freezing the account of the Courage To Resist foundation which, in conjunction with the Bradley Manning Support Network, gives donations to the Bradley Manning legal defense fund. The imprisoned Manning is allegedly the source of the US Embassy cables leaked by WikiLeaks.
In a phone call earlier today, PayPal representative Anuj Nayar told me that this action is not WikiLeaks related and that PayPal has only temporarily restricted the fund, “This has nothing to do with WikiLeaks.”
Courage To Resist and PayPal are still in talks, and according to Nayar the former is infringing against PayPal’s policy on 501 3c non-profits, which hold that a non-profit needs to have a bank account associated with their PayPal account. “For the vast majority of none profits this is not an issue,” says Najar.
Nayar also takes up CTR’s claim that PayPal would not un-restrict the account unless CTR authorized PayPal to withdraw funds from the checking account by default, “We can’t do that without the authorization of an account holder, so a) We can’t do it b) We don’t do it c) Even if we did the bank would resist the charge.”
So why make this a WikiLeaks issue? “That’s a question for them,” he says.
The company’s official statement, below:
“Today’s temporary limitation of the Courage to Resist organization’s PayPal account is due to PayPal regulations requiring non profits to associate a bank account to their PayPal account. It is nothing to do with Wikileaks. Back in December 2010, we permanently restricted the account used by WikiLeaks due to a violation of the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy, which states that our payment service cannot be used for any activities that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity. We’ve notified the account holder of this action. This is not the case with Courage to Resist”

During my service I held a Top Secret security clearance and worked as an Afghan-Pashto linguist; my duties included consuming and producing a large number of intelligence reports. After reading many of the Iraq/Afghan/Cablegate logs I am compelled to inform my fellow citizens that I saw nothing in these logs that could endanger our troops or public servants.
Here’s what I did see: I saw Iraq war logs that painted a very bleak picture of the situation there which doesn’t match up with the “improved security” that’s been reported by the “Defense” Department for years. I saw proof of public officials acting dishonestly and abusing their posts. Overall, I saw an out of control government that is in over its head and does more to endanger the lives of its people than any publishing organization ever could.
I volunteered to protect this country under the impression that my government followed the will of the American People and adhered to the US Constitution. As it turns out, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were never constitutionally declared and despite public opinion being against the two wars they continue to grow more destructive. My experiences in these wars differed greatly from the propaganda the American people were sold by America’s mainstream media outlets; many times I would return from a mission to see wild inaccuracies being reported on Fox/CNN/MSNBC about the very operation I had just been supporting. Wikileaks has helped shine light on the true nature of these illegal wars and the policymakers that perpetuate them, for this I am thankful.
Speaking of policy makers that perpetuate war… Apparently, this nation is bankrupt. The US dollar, under the custodianship of Ben Bernanke’s Federal Reserve System, continues to lose its purchasing power as new dollars are printed to pay for warfare and corporate welfare (in the form of bailouts for bankers). We must recognize that printing more money will not solve our problems, it will only make Americans increasingly poorer. The foundation of America’s financial system is corrupt and dishonest; Wikileaks is also working to unmask this corrupt central-banking system.
For too long, bastards (using Julian Assange’s definition) have been able to use America’s good reputation as a cover for their misdeeds. These days, it seems that powerful interests wield more influence in Washington than the whole of the American electorate. These interests see the American people as nothing more than sheep to be fleeced and so they use their influence to make it easier for us to be held down. I support Wikileaks because I want to see these insidious influences exposed. My hope is that the 21st Century will be one of liberty and transparency, not of greater secrecy and slavish submission to authority.
Let it be known that there are many of us who will resist any attempts to stifle 1st Amendment protections; that America’s veterans take seriously their oaths to the US Constitution and will demand transparency and honesty from government officials; that America’s veterans stand ready to defend the ideals of a free society in the 21st century.

Wikileaks has shown that our government and military form a 'vast lying machine' that perpetrates mass murder in our name.
January 3, 2011
Do you believe that it is in Americans' interest to allow a small group of U.S. leaders to unilaterally murder, maim, imprison and/or torture anyone they choose anywhere in the world, without the knowledge let alone oversight of their citizens or the international community? And, despite their proven record of failure to protect America -- from Indochina to Iran to Iraq -- do you believe they should be permitted to clandestinely expand their war-making without informed public debate? If so, you are betraying the principles upon which America was founded, endangering your nation, and displaying a distinctly "unamerican" subservience to unaccountable authority. But if you oppose autocratic power, you are called to support Wikileaks and others trying to limit U.S. Executive Branch mass murder abroad and failure to protect Americans at home.
These two issues became officially linked for the first time when former U.S. Afghan commander General Stanley McChrystal explicitly stated that the murder of civilians increases rather than decreases the numbers of those committed to killing Americans, and actually implemented policies -- since reversed by General Petraeus -- to reduce U.S. murder of civilians. McChrystal said that “for every innocent person you kill, you create 10 new enemies." By so doing he made it clear that killing civilians is not only a moral and war crimes issue, but -- in today's interdependent world -- also threatens U.S. national security.
As important as is the issue of free speech, it is the question of whether the U.S. Executive is in fact protecting the American people through its mass murder abroad that really lies at the heart of the Wikileaks controversy. Executive Branch officials justify persecuting and threatening to murder Assange on the grounds that he has damaged U.S. "national security." If McChrystal is right, however, it is the past decade of U.S. Executive mass murder in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, now revealed beyond any doubt by Wikileaks, that is the real threat to U.S. national security.
The chilling fact is this: whether you believe that September 11, 2001 was due to incomprehensible fanaticism or genuine grievances, it seems likely that U.S. leaders’ murder of countless Muslims since 2001 will cause the next 9/11 should, God forbid, it occur, The recent suicide-bomber in Sweden who came perilously close to succeeding taped a message saying "so will your children, daughters, brothers, and sisters die, like our brothers, sisters, and children die." Similar sentiments were voiced by the Times Square bomber, and it is likely that those responsible for future American deaths will also be motivated by revenge for the hundreds of thousands of Muslims for whose deaths U.S. leaders are responsible since 2001.
This is not, of course, to justify such attacks. Any attacks on civilians, whether by the Taliban or General Petraeus, are totally unjustified and crimes of war. But if the issue is how best to enhance U.S. national security, it is critical to rationally discuss the most prudent and sensible means of preventing further attacks -- which in this case is to stop creating huge numbers of people who want to kill Americans. If General McChrystal is correct, every American should tremble at the long-term danger to America caused by the last decade of U.S. war-making in the Muslim world. If only 1/100th of 1% of the world's 1.6 billion Muslims are moved to want to attack America because of America's post-9/11 killing of Muslim civilians, for example, the U.S. Executive will have created a pool of 160,000 Muslims devoted to murdering Americans.

Gorillas: Kings Of Congo, CNN's Anderson Cooper Visits Endangered Mountain :
They act tough, but mountain gorillas are really gentle giants. They are playful, peaceful, highly intelligent, and one of our closest animal relatives. The gorillas live in families, each headed by an adult male called a "silverback" because of its distinctive coloring. Over the years, they've been gradually introduced to people, so scientists can study them, and taught that people won't hurt them. But this year, in Congo, humans have betrayed them. Mountain gorillas are under attack.
"They’re extremely threatened in Congo. Threatened to the extent that we're worried about the survival of the whole population," Dr. Emmanuel de Merode, head of the non-profit group WildlifeDirect, explains. "The whole population could be destroyed. Could be wiped out."
WildlifeDirect helps pay the salaries of Congo's park rangers, who protect the gorillas. Dr. de Merode was with the rangers in July when they made their most gruesome discovery, finding the bodies of four gorillas who had been slaughtered in the dead of night.
"It was a terrible, terrible scene to witness," de Merode recalls. "It was our whole lives. Everything we were working for-that was shattered in front of us."
The dead gorillas were part of the Rugendo family. They were the first gorilla group introduced to humans. "We had spent time with that group. And it was, in many ways, a strong sense of trust," de Merode tells Cooper.
The first victim de Merode found was a female named "Safari."
"She was quite famous in many ways because she had just had a baby," he says. "And we had taken a photo in the days after she was born and that photo had been you know a real symbol of hope for us. And then to find her dead. And her baby nowhere to be seen, was gutting and for all of us."
Safari, de Merode says, had been shot twice through the chest. Her killers then poured fuel on her and set her on fire....

WASHINGTON - It's not just the American dollar that's losing value. A government agency has decided that an American life isn't worth what it used to be.
Each American is now valued at $6.9 million by the EPA in figuring out the costs/benefits of certain rulemaking — that's nearly $1 million less than five years ago.
The "value of a statistical life" is $6.9 million in today's dollars, the Environmental Protection Agency reckoned in May — a drop of nearly $1 million from just five years ago.
The Associated Press discovered the change after a review of cost-benefit analyses over more than a dozen years.
Though it may seem like a harmless bureaucratic recalculation, the devaluation has real consequences.
When drawing up regulations, government agencies put a value on human life and then weigh the costs versus the lifesaving benefits of a proposed rule. The less a life is worth to the government, the less the need for a regulation, such as tighter restrictions on pollution.
Consider, for example, a hypothetical regulation that costs $18 billion to enforce but will prevent 2,500 deaths. At $7.8 million per person (the old figure), the lifesaving benefits outweigh the costs. But at $6.9 million per person, the rule costs more than the lives it saves, so it may not be adopted.
Some environmentalists accuse the Bush administration of changing the value to avoid tougher rules — a charge the EPA denies.
"It appears that they're cooking the books in regards to the value of life," said S. William Becker, executive director of the National Association of Clean Air Agencies, which represents state and local air pollution regulators. "Those decisions are literally a matter of life and death."

Cheney’s Office Sought to Change Climate Testimony
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Seeking to play down the effects of global warming, Vice President Dick Cheney's office pushed to delete from congressional testimony references about the consequences of climate change on public health, a former senior EPA official claimed Tuesday.
The official, Jason K. Burnett, said the White House was concerned that the proposed testimony last October by the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention might make it tougher to avoid regulating greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere.
Burnett's assertion, which he made in a July 6 letter to Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., chairwoman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, conflicts with the White House explanation at the time that the deletions reflected concerns by the White House Office of Science and Technology over the accuracy of the science.
Boxer, in a news conference on Tuesday, went so far as to say White House press secretary Dana Perino had lied about why the White House had pushed for the deletions. That, in turn, prompted Perino to demand an apology from Boxer.
''I have never said such a thing about a fellow public servant, and I wouldn't if I didn't have all the facts,'' Perino said from Japan, where President Bush is attending a meeting of world economic leaders. ''I think I deserve an apology.''
Burnett, until last month a senior adviser on climate change at the Environmental Protection Agency, wrote that Cheney's office was deeply involved in getting nearly half of the CDC's original draft testimony removed.
''The Council on Environmental Quality and the office of the vice president were seeking deletions to the CDC testimony (concerning) ... any discussions of the human health consequences of climate change,''...

Explosive new video blasts the justification for Alaskas current aerial wolf hunting program and rallies voters to end it. Using testimony from Alaska Department of Fish & Game staff, a master hunting guide, and Board of Game members, this video exposes the fallacy behind Governor Sarah Palins claim that predator control is based on sound science. Declarations that the program is for the benefit of subsistence hunters are shattered with documentation showing that sport and trophy hunters take up to 73% of prey in areas where aerial wolf hunting has taken place. End Aerial Wolf Hunting rallies support for H.R. 3663, legislation now being considered in the U.S. Congress which will close the loophole in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act that has been exploited to allow this practice to continue. Five years in the making, this video exposes the truth about the stranglehold the hunting lobby has on wildlife management in Alaska.Explosive new video blasts the justification for Alaskas current aerial wolf hunting... more
