I am writing this letter not because I am a scientist or an intellect or a graduate. This is from a humble human being from the bottom of my heart.
Mother earth and her inhabitants, humans and animals share this beauty of nature together and the ultimate aim is to live with her in peace and harmony where cruelty is not suppose to be part of it. People have altered it all.I am writing this letter not because I am a scientist or an intellect or a graduate.... more

First off I’m dealing with gum-disease no dental care, and the awareness that gum-disease is linked to heart disease…
Maybe even another serious medical condition, I don’t feel obligated to share the details of.
Honestly I’ve got a million things on my plate and 2 teeth left to eat them with…. Can barely keep the bills paid, and have so many other issues that directly effect me, and it isn’t even about being selfish, it’s about being there for my family in however many more years….First off I’m dealing with gum-disease no dental care, and the awareness that... more

While flipping through Purdue University's newspaper, The Exponent, a weird Letter to the Editor caught my eye. Eric Averitt, a Junior in the College of Technology wrote a...uhm...lovely letter.
The Title:
‘Make an Asian friend, you won’t be disappointed’
Then the Words from Mr. Averitt's pen:
"Perhaps it’s just me but it seems that almost every time I see an Asian person here on campus they are looking very sad. I know it must be hard moving to a different country and maybe moving by yourself but you can make it. It would be very cool if the Purdue students started reaching out more to Asians here on campus. I know I have and I have found that they are pretty awesome. So Purdue, make an Asian friend! You won’t be disappointed."
1. Wait...what?
2. I can't tell if he's joking.
3. There needs to be more comma use, or period use...in the 2nd sentence.
4. I can't tell if I'm allowed to find this hilarious.
5. Is he honestly being nice (I do hope so)?
6. But even if he was truly being nice...why would he write this?
7. Shouldn't we reach out to anyone who looks sad?
8. I'm confused.
Help. Am I the only one who thinks this is one strange Letter to the Editor?

I spent a morning in John McCain's Virginia campaign headquarters ghost-writing letters to the editor for McCain supporters to sign. I even pretended to have a son in Iraq.

What are going to do about the media not even acknowledging John Edwards is a candidate for President? We better get it figured out and do it soon. He needs overwhelming support or their overwhelming blackout is going to work. We can't afford eight more years of what we've had for far too long. We have to have an honest President to rebuild our country. What are going to do about the media not even acknowledging John Edwards is a... more
