Great article from today's LA Times about one of the greatest NBA players of all-time that has very little to do with his Hall of Fame career, and everything to do with his depth and character.
The leading scorer in the history of the National Basketball Assn. has become a leading historian and author. His sixth book, "On the Shoulders of Giants," is his most recent journey into the past of black America. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar now pursues his heritage with the same fervor he once pursued scoring records.

All you Laker haters, enjoy this while you can. I'm just relieved its only 8 weeks as opposed to a torn ACL and a year of rehab. Whew!
Lakers center Andrew Bynum, a major factor in the team's surprising start, will miss at least eight weeks with a knee injury, the team announced today.
With the Lakers in Seattle for tonight's game, Bynum stayed behind to undergo an MRI, which showed he had suffered a subluxation of his left kneecap.
Lakers physician Steve Lombardo said Bynum would not need surgery and would begin rehabilitation immediately. All you Laker haters, enjoy this while you can. I'm just relieved its only 8... more
