Adele has become the first artist since the Beatles to have two top five singles and two top five albums in the charts at the same time. Her most recent single Someone Like You has just become the singer's first ever No 1 hit, jumping 46 spots to claim the number one slot only a week after she performed it stunningly at the annual Brit awards (have a look below). That song joins (my favourite) Rolling in the Deep, which sits at No 4; on the album charts, Adele's first two LPs – 21 and 19 – are also at No 1 and No 4 respectively.The singer who was born in Tottenham and brought up in Brixton was clearly very chuffed and told the BBC: "It's amazing. I've never had a No 1 single [before]. I'm probably annoying everyone as well, as I cried at the Brits and everything. I'm just so overwhelmed – I can't believe the response to it."The last time an artist had top five hits on both charts it was January 1964 and Britain and America were in the throes of Beatlemania, with I Want to Hold Your Hand and She Loves You filling the airwaves while the albums With the Beatles and Please Please Me flew off the shelves. Then again, I Want to Hold Your Hand was the first single to have an advance order of a million copies; Someone Like You has sold just over 100,000 copies since its release.

The nominations for the newly revamped Brit Awards were announced Thursday, with Tinie Tempah leading with four nominations.
Tinie is nominated for Best British Male Solo Artist, Best British Breakthrough Act, MasterCard British Album of the Year (for 'Disc-overy') and shortlisted for British Single ('Pass Out'). Plan B, The XX and Mumford & Sons received three nominations while Eminem, Arcade Fire, Ellie Golding, Take That, Cheryl Cole, Cee-Lo Green, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon and Rumer received two nominations each, plus former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant receives his first ever nomination for British Male Solo Artist. Newcomer Jessie J will definately receive her Brit Award for the Critics Choice award on the night. The Brit Awards, hosted by comedian James Corden, will take place at The O2 in London on February 15th.

Brit Award organisers has announce a series of makeovers for the 2011 awards.
Fashion designer Vivienne Westwood will be designing the statues for the winners which will be different each year as a "blank canvas", but the big shock is the dropping of 'Outstanding Contribution' Award, instead, there will climax with "making of" short films for the British Album Of The Year Award. The award show will take place at The O2 on February 15th.

- Flamboyant chanteuse Lady Gaga swept the U.K.'s Brit Awards Tuesday winning three categories and offering an emotional tribute to Alexander McQueen, the British fashion designer who died last week.
Gaga collected awards for best international female artist, best international breakthrough act and best international album for "The Fame," and performed at the ceremony wearing a towering white wig and lace veil -- complete with ornate lace eyebrows.
At points, the singer appeared overcome with emotion and paid tribute to McQueen as she collected her first prize -- referring to the designer by the name Lee. "Thank you to Lee McQueen," Gaga said, her voice strained.

Popstar Lady Gaga dominate the night scoring all three of her nominated categories (International Album, International Breakthrough Act and International Female Solo Artist), she also dedicated her performance to the late British designer Alexander McQueen. Also JLS won two awards for British Breakthrough Act and British Single (Beat Again).
Other highlights includes Liam Gallagher throwing the award and mic to audience after the album "What's the Story (Morning Glory)" won 'BRITs Album of 30 Years' and Florence & the Machine and Dizzee Rascal collaborating with an experimental mash-up performance.

Celebrating the launch of one of the most celebrity packed TV adverts in history, adidas and Estelle are hosting their very own exclusive House Party. Artists and celebrities will be heading to the adidas 'Celebrate Originality' Post Brits House Party in celebration of Original British Talent.
BRIT Award nominee and closing act Estelle will continue the celebration by performing exclusively at the adidas House Party. Both Coldplay and Duffy were shortlisted for four nominations apiece at this year's Brit Awards. They've both been nominated for the British Single and British Album prizes, with Chris Martin and his mates also being put up for British Group and British Live Act.
Scouting For Girls, Adele and Elbow all have three nominations apiece, while the Ting Tings and Estelle have been shortlisted for two along with Girls Aloud.
For international nominations, Kings of Leon, The Killers, AC/DC, MGMT and Fleet Foxes all picked up two nominations.So, finally they're here. The Brits!
