Mortgage and derivatives bubbles, bailouts, "stimulus" packages... All designed to cover for the pigs at the trough who now prosper because of them while austerity, "sequestration" and other tactics to weaken and kill off the poor are entertained as a "solution." Anyone who thinks the politicians in DC on any side on the whole really care about cutting your throat to keep their share is naive. There may be a handful, but are they really enough to make a difference anymore?
And it isn't over yet. I don't know what has to happen to wake up the populus of the US as a whole and get them away from their reality tv and recliners. I do know however there is no one in DC we can count on to get us through this, and division, the division they love so much to keep us distracted is no longer feasible if you care about this country, your life and your children.Mortgage and derivatives bubbles, bailouts, "stimulus" packages... You know it's funny, the rich seem to have buckets and buckets of cash, yet they are not creating any jobs, they are speculating with that cash. Buying stock may eventually create a few jobs, as the corporation has more capital to invest, but that’s not what their doing with it. Their using tax loopholes to take it out as capital gains, or shifting the income overseas with funny cooked books. This is creating a feedback mechanism in the market, where one investment begets more CEO cash payments, the beget more investment. Wonder why oil is so height? The rich folk have nothing better to do with their money than chase high returns in the commodities market. If you want to spur reinvestment in growth and more jobs, you need to:
1. Increase demand by putting people back to work and protecting safety nets. This will reduce the cost of safety nets programs, and also increase sales tax and income tax that helps pay for those programs.
2. Eliminate loopholes that permit corporate money laundering.
3. Increase personal tax on income being drained out of these corps, so that they leave the money inside.
4. With some of the savings from the above, create a tax discount on the hiring of American workers; especially for repatriated jobs brought back.
5. Take the rest of the savings from 1-4 and reduce the deficit.
6. Start reducing Federal defense spending by 20% each year for three years. Take all of the savings and put it in into U.S. Infrastructure projects for 10 years. After 10 years, start reducing overall expenditure, until the only thing left at the end is defense at 40% of today’s level. The reason to do it this way are because defense does employ a lot of people. This will keep employment up while reducing defense and rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure.
Some additional things to help:
1. Reform the drug industry to bring down costs.
2. Reform the healthcare industry to reduce administrative costs, and move toward a pay for results instead of a pay for procedure culture.
3. Each state should create a state owned bank after the model set in South Dakota. Oregon and California are looking at this, you should support it. It gives the state more control over their finances instead of letting so guy on wall street manage it all. It does not compete with local banks.
4. Break up the big banks into smaller regional or state banks.
5. Bring back the banking regulation we lost in 80's and 90's.

Over the news we have been hearing about the idea of congress raising the debt ceiling. It has been pointed out that if it is not raised, then many entitlements will not be paid. On the flip side if the debt ceiling is to be raised even higher to cover the cost of all the programs that were promised, then there will be no way to meet that debt no matter what you raise taxes to. Indeed both of these options present some very serious problems.
If government entitlements and are not paid, and other contracts are not honored, then there is a very high chance that riots will indeed ensue when peoples dependency on receiving government checks is severed. However if the debt is raised to meet those contracts and entitlements for the coming year, then the amount of resulting debt extension will make the consequences for the following year more dire. Qe2 will not suffice as it still results in more government debt that we the people are bound as citizens to pay. Monetizing the debt (increasing the money supply to meet the debt), will only result in even greater damage for reasons to numerous to name.
Yet as serious as this problem sounds, it is at this point irrelevant. The amount of unfunded debt from 2010 going into this year (which is far more than merely raising the debt ceiling can cover) remains a problem that I have not even seen the news address yet (for more information on the exact amount and to whom it is owed, go to http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/pd/pd.htm and for the exact breakdown, go to http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/pd/feddebt/feddebt_dec10.pdf ). What you must keep in mind is that the number 4,624,007 is not expressed in the dollar amount, but rather in the millions, meaning that the real rolled over debt is 4,624,007,000,000 – 4.6 trillion.
Politicians on the hill have grown complacent to this number. After all, the same number at the end of 2008 was 4.3 trillion. So if we can continue to carry over debt from one year into the next without a catastrophe, why should they pay it any notice? Given this simple way of looking at things, it would seem like the debt can be allowed to simply continue to go up.
Yet here is the part that no politician wants to mention – how the debts were funded, and how were they rolled over. Heck, your average US subject would never even bother to go to http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/pd/pd_sbredemptionsissuesbyseries.xls , and find out how this happens. This oversight of tracking how the debt is funded is what will cause the catastrophe. If you want a real jaw dropper as to the impending danger of what is happening, I encourage you to open the link. The amount of bonds outstanding (the money received by the government for the sale of the bonds), is not nearly enough to meet the debt rolled over from 2010 into 2011, let alone to fund this year’s budget. This is why the raising of the debt ceiling is irrelevant. The outstanding debt was 4.6 trillion – the amount of bonds it had to back it was only about 2.2 trillion, meaning that for the first time, we have 2.4 trillion dollars of debt, and absolutely no way to answer it.
In 2008 people like Peter Schiff, Gerald Celente, and Ron Paul warned of this danger. Yet so blind are most people to the nation’s economy, they laughed at them. The three people I just mentioned attempted to break the problem down into laymans terms knowing that most people would be lost if they dug into the specifics – and because people attack what they do not understand, they mocked them. The sad reality is that people missed the point of their arguments completely, and what is coming very soon is the result.
Yet those 3 (amongst many others) made 1 last warning knowing that the spending of government would not slow – and that was the danger of monetizing the debt. Monetizing the debt would mean that the FED would simply print the money into existence. Outside of running the very high risk of creating hyperinflation, there is of course another danger.
The Federal Reserve is not a government entity. It is a private banking institution owned by people who have little to do with our government. Their sole responsibility was to create a ....

“Bubble“ is a sexy, wickedly funny short film by the Spanish filmmakers Pedro Casablanc and Gabriel Olivares. The film tells a story of the sexy escapades of Margaret and Pili, two girlfriends living in a sleepy, little town. Margaret dreams of getting her driver’s license, buying a new car and leaving the town forever. But until then, she and Pili have to depend on Pili’s brother, Horten, to pick them up and drive them around on their sexy hijinks. And they certainly take a big advantage of the situation, and as often as they can! However, one day poor Margaret is shocked to learn that she’s pregnant: her old reliable method of bubbly contraception has failed to work. Ooops!
This piece includes a number of color photographs, as well as the naughty, comedic short film.

Toronto Police Const. Adam Josephs appears to take himself and his job seriously. Very, very, very seriously. He threatened a protester with assault charges for blowing bubbles. And now he's suing a YouTube commenter for an 11-word wisecrack.
A video of Josephs getting comically tough with a young G20 protester (above) became a viral hit. "If the bubble touches me, you're going to be arrested for assault," Josephs told the protester. The officer was promptly dubbed "Officer Bubbles" and became the target of a series of YouTube parody cartoons of the same name. Joseph then filed a $1.2 million defamation lawsuit and is seeking to legally compel Google to revel the identity of the parody cartoon's creator, plus the identities of 24 people who commented on it. That'll show them you're not a humorless stick in the mud who wields that law against the pettiest of transgressions! (Needless to say, the parody cartoons are no longer on YouTube.)
One of the sued commenters, Todd Mara aka "Pussymcfats," has now uncloaked himself in the Toronto Star to give Josephs a piece of his mind. Mara's YouTube comment read, in full, "officer bubbles probably looks at himself in the mirror a lot." Heh. He's not backing down:
I mentioned, according to what I saw in the video, that he's an egomaniac. I stand by what I did. I thought he was out of line.
...I don't know why this guy wants to draw more attention to himself. I can't figure it out. It's ridiculous.
Mara (above, right) lives in Hamilton, Ontario, is 33 and married with two kids. He said he hasn't used YouTube for months and had forgotten about the comment. In other words, the Josephs parody had blown over, as far as he was concerned, before the cop committed an unwitting act of self parody with his suit.
Joseph's lawyer, meanwhile, countered that the comments were helping to incite "violent threats" against the officer. So maybe sue the people making the threats then? Just a thought, Officer Bubbles. A nice, respectful, non defamatory thought.
