Upon entering Tate Britain for the Chris Ofili retrospective, viewers are warned of the “offensive” imagery on view. Anyone familiar with the artist is accustomed to seeing the glitzy, brilliant, and intense paintings he is best known for: Ofili’s use of elephant dung, artfully placed on parts of his paintings and used constantly to prop the works up from the ground, as well as his constant inclusion of imagery from pornography magazines, are what made this British artist notorious.

Exhibition from Friday 29th May until 3rd July
Paperview curator and artist Danny Rolph will bring together a selection of works on paper from three London based contemporary art collections to develop a survey on challenging work by emerging and established artists who utilise this material as their main medium.
Paperview will bring into focus Rolph's own playful, subjective, reflective and ongoing intrigue in the medium of paper with works also shown by invited artists including Chris Ofili, Raqib Shaw, Julie Mehretu and Laura Owens alongside works selected from the The Zabludowicz Collection, The Lodeveans Collection and the John Jones Collection
Please note that Paperview is open to public Thursdays and Fridays 10am-5pm, and on Saturdays 12-5pm

A £10m architectural centre built as a memorial to murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence has been vandalised just a week after it opened.
Eight windows each worth £15,000 and designed by the Turner prizewinning artist Chris Ofili on the front of the new building in south-east London were destroyed.
A Metropolitan police spokeswoman confirmed the attack was being treated as a racist incident.
Stephen Lawrence was stabbed to death in a racially-motivated attack while waiting for a bus one evening in 1993.
