Forget Jesse Eisenberg and "The Social Network." Ben Hoffman gives this year's most haunting performance in a Facebook-related production as "The Facebook Liker." Watch Ben feverishly "like" virtually everything he comes across on Facebook, from puppy pictures to the Ting Tings to Bryan Safi posing with one of the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." But at what cost to his soul?

After several years on air and countless changes, it's important to make sure everyone's still on the same page about how to describe infoMania. Is it a comedy show? Is it informational? Educational? A health risk? Host Brett Erlich and cast members Bryan Safi, Sergio Cilli, Erin Gibson, and Ben Hoffman all try their best to define their late night hangout. Here's a hint: infoMania is not actually the name of that popular Phoenix song.

Ben Hoffman is a writer for infoMania and host of "Tech Report." We asked him to take a look back at his favorite moments from 2010.
This year I made a bunch of songs about strange trends that the news covers. As far as I know, I am the only one who does this. Here are my five favorites.
1. "Sliding Cars"
2. "Deer on the Loose"
3. "Freak Animals"
4. "Smoking B-Roll"
5. "Helicopter Rescue"

infoMania's resident curmudgeon, Ben Hoffman, spews bile all over the year that was. Where many were inspired by the power-to-the-people Facebook campaign that landed comedy doyenne Betty White a hosting slot on "Saturday Night Live," for instance, Ben is moved only to utter lots of words we had to bleep. Other targets include "The Hurt Locker," "Jersey Shore" and Mel Gibson, though Ben's only beef with Mel is that he didn't produce even more profane videotapes. Buck up, Ben - there's always next year!

Steven Slater provided a vicarious thrill for every fed-up office drone this year when the Jet Blue flight attendant commandeered the plane's intercom, dropped an F-bomb on an annoying passenger, publicly quit his job, grabbed two beers and hopped down the emergency slide onto the tarmac. Did he ever dream that yellow inflatable slide would deliver him all the way to the coveted honor of infoMania's 2010 Man of the Year? Of course not; no mortal can dream that big. Our own Ben Hoffman gets Slater to relive his star-making moment and the media explosion that ensued, though he dodges Ben's hard-hitting question about the "biggest turd" he ever found in an airplane lavatory.

The magic of Facebook enables an aspiring actress/comedian from Canada to find infoMania's own Ben Hoffman. Watch Ben generously answer her questions on how to break into show business, or at least the few questions she's able to get out while Ben's distracted by his double chin, a whirring helicopter and whether or not he should get a pet. Does she have what it takes to go from Toronto to Tinseltown? Judging by the "script" Ben writes for her screen test, the bar shouldn't be very high.
The infoMania Tech Report is a weekly segment where technology guru Ben Hoffman takes a look at the newest tech products, gadgets and video games. It has been called "the funniest tech show on the web." (No source for that quote is available at this time. In fact, there's a good chance it was made up.) These days our favorite (and only) weekly media round-up show is performing for more than just the cameras. infoMania has a live studio audience! Here is some behind-the-scenes footage from infoMania's first live taping, including an opening bit from its grumpiest bit, Ben Hoffman.
What you may not know is that Ben not only gets to be the guy to entertain the audience before the show, but he keeps it up through every break. How did the most notoriously disgruntled infoMania cast member end up with the role as Requisite People Pleaser? It turns out that Ben just has a unique knack for winning over an audience and then turning them against him completely right before the end -- everything he thinks a warm-up guy needs to be most effective and successful. In his own words: "Never leave an audience liking you."With a bitter, manic-depressive disposition and the help of infoMania's brand new puppet mascot, infoManny, Ben's got all he needs to keep an audience hyped and mildly uncomfortable during a live taping.Look out for more of Ben's live stand-ups coming soon. Conor Knighton puts Nancy Grace's new show "Swift Justice" on trial with the infoMania live studio audience as jury.. The verdict: Guilty of grade-A awfulness. Conor testifies that the former prosecutor and current TV harpy talks tough whether she's discussing actual crimes (like on her long-running Headline News show) or cracking the case of the dog poop on "Swift Justice." Though in Nancy's defense, she's surprisingly knowledgeable about canine crap.

Ben Hoffman jumps into this "Tech Report" investigation of the Concept 1, a high-tech high-top that has been banned by the NBA because it supposedly makes you leap higher. Meet the twin brothers behind the too-hot-for-LeBron kicks. Watch Ben don the super-sneaks and jump way, way over the heads of our live studio audience. We're confident this is the only shoe segment you'll see this week that features Rosie O'Donnell, Barack Obama and Osama Bin Laden. But if you somehow find another, please drop us a line. Because that sounds awesome.

InfoMania's resident curmudgeon Ben Hoffman is out of his mind in this hilariously cruel attack on America's favorite elderly comedienne, Betty White. By spewing what most (actually, all) decent people would dare not say out loud, Ben makes a compelling (and offensive) case for Betty to retire. Ben will definitely be crossed off Betty's Christmas list this year.
