Attack on Libya is illegal under both U.S. law and UN charter; Manufactured pretext of “protecting civilians” completely collapses as Russia, Arab League and African Union condemn air strikes
As the contrived moral high ground behind the absurdly hypocritical “humanitarian” pretext of the attack on Libya collapses in the wake of Russia, the Arab League and the African Union condemning the US-led NATO bombings, so does any pretense of legality that the “no fly zone” resolution holds, because the obvious attempt to assassinate Gaddafi violates not only U.S. law, but the UN’s own charter.
The Orwellian delusion that the “no fly zone” anything other than a cruel hoax became obvious within hours, as NATO rejected Libya’s proposal for independent third party countries to patrol the skies and instead launched an instantaneous bombardment of Gaddafi’s military facilities, strikes that have killed dozens of innocent people according to Libyan claims that have been confirmed by Russia.
From the very beginning, this war had nothing to do with “protecting civilians” and everything to do with toppling the leader of Africa’s richest oil nation.
Now western leaders have all but admitted that the sole focus of the campaign is to kill Gaddafi, as air strikes pound targets around the beleaguered Libyan leader.
Asked if Gaddafi could be assassinated to force regime change, British defence secretary Liam Fox said that the Libyan leader was a “legitimate target,” adding, “That would potentially be a possibility,” entertaining a notion that was soon backed up by force as RAF warplanes reduced Gaddafi’s Tripoli compound to rubble last night after a massive air bombardment.
Fox later said that a “bunker-buster” attack on Gaddafi’s residence was also being considered.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and British Prime Minister David Cameron have all gone on record to state that Gaddafi “must go,” “needs to go,” and has “lost his legitimacy”.
In addition, Salwa el-Deghali, of the national transitional council, called for, “More attacks on Gaddafi’s forces, and fast. We need these attacks until he is crushed.”
Does this sound like a mission to protect civilians or a mission to topple Gaddafi, especially given the fact that SAS commanders have been on the ground for weeks, again in violation of the UN resolution, directly supporting Libyan rebel armies?
The UN resolution that supposedly gave the air strikes their legal foundation does not authorize the use of military force to enact regime change, and yet that’s precisely what NATO and the United States is pursuing – the murder or removal of Gaddafi.
Once again we are reminded of the fact that the United Nations only abides by its own resolutions when it is convenient. The UN will flagrantly violate its own charter with relish if there is a pre-existing geopolitical agenda to accomplish.
International law codified under the UN prohibits state-sponsored assassination, except under conditions of warfare. By characterizing the attack on Libya as merely a “no fly zone,” and stopping short of declaring war on on the country, the UN along with the powers that signed the resolution, namely America, France, Britain and Italy, are in violation of their own resolution by targeting Gaddafi.
Indeed, killing Gaddafi would be a war crime because it clearly qualifies as an act of “treachery” under Article 23 of the Hague Convention IV of 1907. Even in times of declared war, assassinating a leader under false pretenses is illegal.
“A state that uses “treachery” to kill an enemy may be guilty of war crimes,” states the Encyclopedia of Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity. “Article 23 of the Hague Convention IV of 1907 provides that “it is especially forbidden . . . to kill or wound treacherously, individuals belonging to the hostile nation or army.” Treachery is usually defined as a breach of confidence, such as an attack on an individual who believes that there is no need to fear the attacker.”
In addition, under U.S. law, employees of the United States are prohibited from engaging in assassination during peacetime. This law has of course been violated numerous times, most notably in 1986 when the Reagan administration attempted to kill Gaddafi by bombing army barracks where Libyan leader was known to be sleeping.
The attack on Libya is not only immoral, with the “humanitarian” pretext transparently a pack of lies, it is also completely unconstitutional having not been authorized by the U.S. Congress. As Francis Boyle, Professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law, points out, “Without authorization by the United Nations Security Council and express authorization from the U.S. Congress pursuant to the terms of the War Powers Resolution, for President Obama to establish any type of so-called ‘no-fly zone’ over Libya would be illegal and unconstitutional.”
Above all, since the assault was launched under UN auspices with the presumed “legitimacy” of the international community, it directly violates the UN’s own charter in that the entire scope of the mission is about regime change, supporting one side in a civil war, and has nothing whatsoever to do with “protecting civilians”.

Navy vet caught with grenade launcher, maps of military base and Arab headdress
Potential False Flag Attack To Be Blamed On Muslims Foiled
Paul Joseph Watson
A possible false flag terror attack to be blamed on Muslims has been foiled after a Navy vet was busted with a grenade launcher, assault rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, as well as Arab headdress, in New Jersey yesterday. Initial media reports speculated that the man was planning a terrorist attack on a U.S. military base in the area.
“Lloyd Woodson, 43, whose last known address was Reston, Va., today faces multiple offenses, including second-degree unlawful weapons possession and fourth-degree possession of prohibited weapons, Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne Forrest said,” reports the New Jersey Star Ledger.
“Branchburg police confronted Woodson at 3:55 a.m. at the Quick Chek convenience store on Route 28 after receiving a call reporting a suspicious person. Branchburg Patrolman Steven Cronce noticed a large bulge beneath the green, military-style jacket that Woodson was wearing, which was later determined to be the assault rifle with a defaced serial number, Forrest said.”
After searching his hotel room, police found a grenade launcher, hundreds .50-caliber and .308-caliber rounds, a police scanner, as well as “Middle Eastern red and white traditional headdress”.
“The man may have had plans to attack a U.S. military base,” reported Fox New Jersey, adding that the amount of weapons he had led police to suspect he was a terrorist.
The FBI were remarkably swift in distancing the man from any link with terrorists, despite the fact that his deadly arsenal was accompanied by maps of a military facility.
“The FBI said a man charged with multiple weapons offenses after a cache of weapons and maps of a military facility were found in his New Jersey motel room has no known terrorism link,” reported the Associated Press this morning.
Imagine if a Muslim had been busted with grenade launchers, assault rifles, and maps of military facilities. Authorities and the media would instantly claim he was part of an Al-Qaeda conspiracy and launch all kinds of fearmongering about the inevitability of getting hit again by terrorists unless we give up our rights – just as they did in the aftermath of the failed underwear bombing incident.
Within days, the ghost of Osama Bin Laden would once again be manufactured to claim involvement and members of the military-industrial complex would be pimping their latest hi-tech tools of enslavement.
However, because this was probably a false flag operation gone awry, it will be buried and you’ll never hear anything of it again.
As we reported in September 2005, two individuals wearing Arab clothes, wigs and headdress shooting at police in Basra were later discovered to be British SAS soldiers. According to the Basra governor Mohammed al-Waili, one policeman was shot dead and another was injured during an attack that was patently a set up to be blamed on insurgents.
Early media reports about the incident also stated that the men were carrying explosives, but this detail vanished from subsequent coverage.
The soldiers were arrested and taken to a nearby jail where they were confronted and interrogated by an Iraqi judge.
The initial demand from the puppet authorities that the soldiers be released was rejected by the Basra government. At that point tanks were sent in to “rescue” the SAS men amidst chaos that resulted in around 150 prisoners escaping from the jail.
The only outlet to ask any serious questions was Australian TV news which according to one viewer gave, “credibility to the conspiracy theorists who have long claimed many terrorist acts in Iraq are, in fact, being initiated and carried out by US, British and Israeli forces.”Navy vet caught with grenade launcher, maps of military base and Arab headdress... more

That's right, he's gonna be one of them SAS soldiers and will also spend time with the SBS (Special Boat Squadron) as well as the elite Special Reconnaissance Regiment.
Kind of like his previous training, the second in line to the throne will spend up to six weeks with the Special Services as part of his multi-military training for when he's King, he'll be in charge of all of Britain's Armed Forces.

Now that both Turkey and India have been hit with a series of bomb blasts, it’s worth remembering where some of these terrorists come from and who they work for.
In 2003 two SAS soldiers were freed from a jail in Basra by the British military after they were arrested by the Iraqi police for failing to “stop at an Iraqi police roadblock and subsequently open(ing) fire on the Iraqi police, killing one and wounding another.” The SAS agents did this while dressed in traditional Arab clothing. “In pursuit, the police surround(ed) and detain the drivers and (found) the vehicle packed with explosives.”
“That's right – two members of the British Armed forces disguised as Arab civilians killed a member of the Iraqi police while evading capture” in a civilian car that was filled with explosives. “When the people of Basra rightfully refused to turn the murderers over to the British government, per Coalition ‘mandate,’ they (the British) sent their own men in and released over 100 prisoners in the process.”
If this occurred anywhere else in the world, these two men would have been charged with terrorism, put on a one way flight to Guantanamo Bay, where they would have been tortured by Americans until they revealed the identity of their employers. All of that would have been unnecessary of course, since they were agent provocateurs working for the British government to destabilize the region.
This is not speculation, this incident has been well documented and it will remain a part of our history.
How many of these agent provocateurs the UK and US have unleashed on civilian populations around the world is anyone’s guess. Why they have done and continue to do such a thing can only be speculated upon. Again, the only ones who truly know the reasons are the governments of the United States and Britain.
So the next time we see a series of bomb blasts kill innocent civilians around the world we should remember where some of these terrorists come from and whom they work for.

Fearless German Shepherds are being trained to jump from aircraft at 25,000ft wearing their own oxygen masks and strapped to special forces assault teams.
Once down in hostile terrain in Iraq or Afghanistan, the dogs will be sent in first to seek out insurgents’ hideouts with tiny cameras fixed to their heads.
The cameras will beam live TV pictures back to the troops, warning of ambushes or showing enemy leaders’ locations.
Three SAS troopers have been shot dead on raids in Iraq in two years and at least eight seriously wounded.
An SAS source said: “The dogs will be exposed to very high levels of danger on these operations and you never know what’s going to be behind a door. Nobody wants to see the dogs get killed but if it’s their life or a man’s it is obvious which the CO would prefer.”
The dogs will be used in a highly-skilled technique called High Altitude High Opening, jumping as much as 20 miles from their targets and gliding towards them for up to 30 minutes.
America’s most elite unit the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, commonly known as Delta Force, has pioneered the skills for jumping with dogs from heights over 20,000ft and its instructors have been sent over to 22 SAS headquarters in Hereford.
Dogs were first trained to parachute in the Second World War by the British on rescue missions. But they have never jumped from high altitude, the best way for small groups of men to get behind enemy lines undetected. The dogs have big advantages over soldiers in that they arouse less suspicion approaching targets, can squeeze into tighter spaces and can sniff out booby-trap explosives.
Two have been issued to each of the regiment’s four squadrons with troopers specially selected to be their handlers.
The squadrons’ job is to hunt down High Value Targets – insurgency leaders and old Saddam henchmen – but they are also on permanent standby to carry out rescue missions for hostages.
In line with special forces policy the MoD would not comment on the dogs. But The Sun was given clearance to run the story by security officials. Fearless German Shepherds are being trained to jump from aircraft at 25,000ft wearing... more

Former British soldier Simon Mann is waiting to hear the verdict in his trial in Equatorial Guinea for a 2004 coup plot, which ended on Friday.
Mr Mann, who potentially faces 30 years in prison, has admitted guilt but has tried to convince the court that he was not the most senior coup plotter.
The former SAS officer was held four years ago with 64 others in Zimbabwe. He served four years in prison there for trying to purchase weapons without a licence before being extradited.
The trial was held at a conference centre in the capital, Malabo, amid heavy security.
It was not immediately clear when the verdict would be issued.

Spain and South Africa both "gave the green light" for a failed coup in oil-rich Equatorial Guinea, a British mercenary has told a court in Malabo. Simon Mann said it felt as though the coup attempt was an official operation.
He also said that Sir Mark Thatcher, son of UK former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, was one of the plot's organizers.
But Mann said London-based millionaire Eli Calil was "the boss". He and Sir Mark have both denied plotting a coup.
Sir Mark was fined in 2005 and received a suspended sentence in South Africa for unknowingly helping to finance it. But Mann said Sir Mark was part of the "management team... not just an investor".
Mann was speaking on the second day of his trial, in which Equatorial Guinea prosecutors have called for him to serve 30 years in jail. Mann, an ex-SAS officer, was arrested four years ago with 64 others in Zimbabwe.
He served four years in prison there for trying to purchase weapons without a licence before being extradited to Equatorial Guinea earlier this year.

A former British special forces soldier is to claim today that the government knew all about the extraordinary rendition flights and that it's "deeply involved" in the process.
Last week, the Foreign Secretary David Miliband apologised to MPs in the Commons and admitted that two US rendition flights transporting terrorists suspects for questioning by the US had landed on UK soil. The former SAS soldier, Ben Griffins, claims this "pales into insignificance" compared to British forces' actions.
He is set to tell a London press conference organised by the Stop the War Coalition: "We detained individuals and carried out our own interrogation before handing them over to the US. We were under no illusion as to what awaited the individuals handed over by us.
"For the British Government to claim that they only became aware of the use of British territory this week is disingenuous."
After years of denial, the British government admitted that two flights had refuelled on the British Indian Ocean island territory of Diego Garcia in 2002. Mr Miliband said he'd been told by the US that none of the suspects on those flights had been held at a secret detention centre of subjected to waterboarding or other forms of torture.
The former SAS soldier opposing the government's claims left the army on moral grounds at the beginning of 2007 after three months in Iraq, saying he disagreed with the "illegal" tactics of US troopsA former British special forces soldier is to claim today that the government knew all... more
