March Madness is under way, and we’re all about co-opting your excitement, so we’ve created our own tournament. The 2009 Coldplay-off! We’ve taken 16 bands that sound like they ripped off Coldplay, and 16 legendary bands that sound like Coldplay ripped them off, and we’re pitting them against each other.
Monday morning, we’re posting our official bracket. Then everyday there will be two games: one pitting two of the world’s best bands that Coldplay ripped off (think Radiohead or U2) against each other, and one matching up two of the world’s worst Coldplay spawns (think the Fray or Snowpatrol—but don’t think it for long). Then you vote for the winner in the comment section, and as far as I know, there’s no rule against using multiple screen names, so vote early, and vote often. It all starts this Monday!March Madness is under way, and we’re all about co-opting your excitement, so... more

Despite being on top of the iTunes music charts for a while now the only video available for the single Viva La Vida of Coldplay's latest album of the same name was the iTunes exclusive download commercial [see the comments bellow].
They've released two videos. The first [clipped] Directed by Hype Williams in a very stylized effects view of the song. The other, directed by Anton Corbjin is a more grounded version [see the comments bellow] depicting Martin wandering the world dressed in royal garb and carrying a portrait of the titular album's cover art, a very Napoleonic scene.
Now Brett and Sergio can rest easy and watch the video rather than ruin their friendships over creative differences.
UPDATE: i cant find the orgional Bret + Sergio in studio peice... somone please put it in the coments.Despite being on top of the iTunes music charts for a while now the only video... more

Coldplay have poured cold water on an American band’s claim that they’ve ripped off one of their songs for their new album.
Unknown New York indie outfit Creaky Boards say Chris Martin and co have stolen one of their melodies for their number one album title track Viva La Vida.
Creaky Boards say the Coldplay track sounds uncannily like their tune called The Songs I Didn’t Write and that Martin may even have seen them play the song live at this year’s CMJ festival in New York.
