Pete Wilkinson, digital news producer at CNN.com in London, has quite possibly found the best way to distract himself from the fact that he's running 26.2 miles in one go - he's going to "tweet" about his progress during this weekend's London Marathon - while he runs.
"I think it's going to be incredibly hard," Wilkinson admitted about his plans. "I've tried it while on a few practice runs and it's quite hard reading the screen."
He's not the first marathon runner to tweet during the race. Apparentely, someone tweeted during last year's Boston Marathon.

For the past couple of weeks Tamils have been protesting outside Parliament 24 hours a day, and have gone as far as blocking traffic and hunger strikes. Unfortunately for the organisers of this weekend's London Marathon, the route passes very close to where they're protesting - so they might have to change to the route.
Or, of course, the government could change their policy and try to stop all of that killing that's going on.For the past couple of weeks Tamils have been protesting outside Parliament 24 hours a... more

London, Apr 14 : A blind British runner became only the third person ever to complete seven marathons on seven continents in seven days when he crossed the London Marathon’s finish line on Sunday.
The gruelling week-long stretch saw 50-year-old Dave Heeley run a total of 183.4 miles (293.4 kilometres) — 26.2 miles a day — in the Falkland Islands, Rio de Janeiro, Los Angeles, Sydney, Dubai, Tunis and London to raise money for guide dogs.
“To think last week I was in the Falklands, it’s just too incredible for words,” Heeley said after completing his last marathon of the week in five hours and 20 minutes
“I am the first blind person to do this. It’s been a fantastic adventure and one I’m going to talk about for a long time.”
Upon completing the London leg, Heeley was embraced by his wife, Debbie and daughters Dannie, Georgie Lee and Grace.
Heeley, from West Bromwich in central England, was born with an eye disease and lost his sight completely at the age of 16, curtailing a keen interest in running. London, Apr 14 : A blind British runner became only the third person ever to complete... more

Not content with finishing a half marathon in Essex, 101 year-old Buster Martin is now focusing on London's 26-mile event.
You may think running a marathon could be too much for an 'old-timer,' not Buster, as soon as he crossed the finish line of his half-marathon he reportedly asked "Where's my beer?"
He's been a busy man in his life, he's got 17 kids and three years ago decided to start working again as he had become 'bored.'
So much for an easy life when you get old, fair play though, I'll be waiting clutching a pint for him, if and when, he crosses the finish line...
