November 5 Take Back America
A little more than a month before his assassination, speaking to a crowd standing in mud in front of the newly competed capitol dome, Abe Lincoln finished his second inaugural address with the following words:
"With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations."
We must learn from Lincoln's words to start, right now, treating each other as countrymen, fellow citizens, brothers and sisters. If we do not, we face trials as serious and heart wrenching as those of the Civil War. We must wrest control of government away from the corporate criminals who have stolen it, and we must begin the work of rebuilding our economy and civil community. We can do this by banding together in a series of nonviolent actions designed to deprive the corporate masters of their lifeblood, money

Donald Trump: The President We Deserve
We can name more Jersey Shore cast members than our state's Senators. We have commercials telling our kids to go outside and play. We are steaming into the twenty first century, powered by wheezing, poisonous 19th century technology. And the little pocket sized super computer that we bought six months ago, that tiny little thing that would have been considered nothing short of wizard class magic ten short years ago, we can't wait to throw that worthless piece of shit away the split second they let us buy the new version that's 3% slimmer and has TWO cameras in six months.
In a time when the goal is no longer to achieve anything laudable, or to contribute anything to the betterment of mankind for future generations, when to excel and be exceptional is seen as being kind of a dick move, when dignity and self respect are quaint and adorable notions of the past and the most sought after personal goal is to have one's own reality show, who better to represent this failed generation than Donald Trump?
We all know that he's probably not going to win. It seems like that would be a given. But just because he's probably not, and that he never should, and to even think about it makes the brain wet its little brain pants, doesn't mean that he couldn't. My Governor killed invisible aliens and was Danny DeVito's hilariously implausible twin for 90 minutes... So, don't talk to me about won't and shouldn't.
This is a man who builds giant, forty story, gold plated failure penises and wallpapers them with his name. This is a man who brags about supposedly fucking over a dictator in a land deal like he's waiting for you to high five him. This is a man who feuds with Rosie O'Donnell and has gotten backing from such great political titans as Bret Michaels and Gary Busey.
There was a time, I assume, when we as a people wanted to be represented in the highest halls of power by those that we believed were the best of us. When we wanted people smarter than us to be in charge of important things like, making sure the French didn't try to fondle our balls a second longer than we wanted them to, or to tell the Germans to cut it out already. The idea of choosing a leader because you think it might be cool to hang out with them and tell squirrel stompin' storries over a couple Old' Milwaukees, or because you think he might flip off the King of Arabistan, call Russia a fag and punch the United Nations in the taint, is all fucking insane.
If Donald Ulysses Trump were elected President of these God's United States, sure, it would be hilarious. I'm not about to question the entertainment value of it. The country would finally complete its transformation into one giant reality show, issuing a flip camera and a web domain to every citizen within its borders. Camera crews would follow the Trump at all times, he would have a confessional room built into the oval office, and we would no doubt all be murdered by the outrageously inappropriate actions of Secretary of State Omarosa.
But... what was I saying? I'm not sure really. The more I talk about it, the more I wonder why I was even thinking of fighting this at all. I'm sure Vice President Gene Simmons couldn't possibly be worse than Biden, and that's a man that knows how to brand a marginal franchise into, pathetic, yet unquestionable profitability. And personal pride is over rated anymore anyway.
Let's just face the facts that Abraham Lincoln isn't going to show up again. And besides, we wouldn't let him. Why would we want to? It's not about what's best for us anymore, it's about what's most ironically hilarious. This is what we get, this is what we deserve.

The current, daily more bizarre international situation, however, how absurd it may sound, is comparable to the days and the weeks, the years before French Revolution. A desperate financial crisis, which was self-made, knitted, an always deferred reform, some sort a blockade, not only on the life worthy issue of incumbent climate changes of the world, this progress could have served all people. And all, what is already bitter enough, history has repeated, this time, in our days.
However, the smug, greedy bankers, shady business leaders, strange political, some of the Constitution completely indifferent currents, an all-dominant intelligence, an uncontrollable power gadget, which acts apparently out of a never-ending, infinite resource against a hostile, every day potentiating crisis. Once it is the digital spirit of Osama bin-Laden, his invisible terrorist assessed successor, El-Kaida. Then suddenly, because they can get hold of one, new, sudden enemy.
The US-Adminstration, who distracts from other problems that affect us all, found the foe: Julian Paul Assange and his organization Wikileaks. Now Julian Paul Assange, who is declared a public enemy number 1,only because he and his organisation published true exhibits, for all the people, made them accessible to many nations. This time it's not the French people, that once so hated Marie-Antoinette. But it's the same situation, only more than 200 years later. Jean-Jacques Rousseau quoted, not without self-interest, in his autobiography "The Confessions" (from the French original text): « Je me rappelai le pis d'une grande princesse-all à qui l'on disait que les paysans n'avaient pas de pain , et qui répondit: qu'il mangent de la brioche. »
Translation: "Finally I remembered the makeshift of a great princess, the people said, they have had no bread, and she answered: Let them eat cakes!"
Normally, one would be attempted to believe, that even the powerful leader of this world would have learned something of all its ineffable authority, no, it's how it was. How it used to be. Also in the Bastille in Paris they were quite happy to tortured extensively, the same in the many outposts all over France in those days. Mainly people, who opened their mouth, rebelled against the autocratic system of that time, degenerate royalist lords, the usual inhabitants of Versailles. Many people on this wide, wonderful world, even in the years of growing pluralism, are still fed instead of bread with weapons, fear and hopelessness, with death and disease. Probably this is the cake of the 21 his century.
It's never about the good-hearted people of the American, for what they gave to the world. These many nations, that have been created with sweat and blood to one. The GIs liberated Germany from the Nazis, they gave them hope by JFK, "I am a Berliner". Everyone knows. The spirit of liberty, who flew to the moon, proved pioneering spirit. America gave us so many things, not only chewing gum, large automotive dreams, Hollywood, Hamburger culture, the joy of swing, rock and roll were only a few of those. For many the new home, Ellis Island, the Empire -State Building, New York, San Francisco, cities, settlements of superlatives were created. People, great personalities were produced in America.
However, Wikileaks and their founder Julian Paul Assange, stormed as in a contemporary avatar of the modern history the new Bastille, the U.S. government, all the evil, dictatory thoughts, sometimes even ridiculous manic minutes of the oh-so-usual-eloquent diplomats.
Now, Americans should ask: Why is that? Some officials may not support everything in the own apparatus, the policy of the last decade? Maybe they can not agree with their conscience? There are obvious documents from the lion's hideaway. Why does a slightly unworldly Australian, tireless globetrotter turns out be the beginning of a new, but overwhelming revolution? He stormed the political goal and haphazard Tuileries, carried his idea, as Marie Charpointier the Tricolour. Assange overcame the enlightenment thinking and politicization. Lived the displaced, forgotten problems. Someone must do so, without doubt. Back to the people, to the genuine nations in power. It was long enough the people of this world, the incumbent, closed-class used own made policies for the financial, senseless wars, for further environmental destruction for the very personal goals of the installed disgusting satellites. Plenty of willing vassals, an inscrutable network of secret diplomacy, abductions, torture, murder, intrigue and life in apparently undemocratic manners. Everything in the disguise of higher goals that many, most people on this planet, could not understand anymore.
There occurred a certain, even some 30 years ago, unthinkable mechanism, which has now thrown the world in an undeclared cyber war by some organisation called Anonymous. They can ´t stop by militant attacks, like in cyber guerrilla warfare, the incredible criminalization of Paul Julian Assange, just show the front, allow all involved parties to proceed further. Radical U.S. politicians, or those who think they are, autocratic self actors, the mislead American dream of prosecutor, judge and executioner in one focused person. The hatred is a paralysing, serves unconditionally not to all the people of the world. It is time that America takes position, not in front of the politicians, however to the people of this earth.
For others, such as sadists, Assange already is one, who is walking the green mile, towards to the rooms of their so ugly executions. Solved by now in the closed, political world. Assange seems to be on the tube of lethal injection. The making of is just made now. Julian Paul Assange is the worldwide martyrs. Now, even that he has not earned. Not yet.
Systematically, all in years, decades exploited mature channels are used to stop the truth, which Assange published on Wikileaks. To cover up.
What shall be prevented or what should be avoided?
Does anyone in the United States fear the political meltdown? The steady moral slump of the former superpower, the former living and giving democracy in a meaningless international community which declined by some hateful operators, a system, that was installed after 9/11. A war government that sought their own questionable authority.
Has Wikileaks papers or documents that tell a different, but much more logical, credible truth about the following, to this day occurred events?
The question is: why the superpower is still at war? Why the spirit in a bottle, bin Laden, has not been presented a regular court? He may comment on the allegations. Why not? A state, that clearly has the smartest military in the world, the god-like CIA and other servants is surely enabled to find, locate an Osama- bin- Laden.

Right up until January 17, this year’s Palm Springs International Film Festival will feature a new program highlighting African Cinema as well as films selected to compete for the FIPRESCI Award, New Voices/New Visions Award, and John Schlesinger Awards. The Festival will screen 40 of the 65 official submissions to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for Best Foreign Language Film, and will host it’s own Black Tie Awards Gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

20 police surround, slam, arrest unarmed man
Twenty police officers surged into a mobile home neighborhood in Lincoln, Neb., and slammed an unarmed man to the ground because a neighbor reported he was shooting a crossbow, and the resulting melee left two officers hurt, the man's wife and 4-year-old tossed out of their home and the Internet forum pages aglow with the flames of argument over weapons rights.
"Why the need for 20 cops? What's with America and overcompensation through excessive force?" wrote one participant at Fark.
Countered another writer, "I grew up in a place where this sort of activity (using weapons in technically illegal areas) is fairly normal, and I think once the cops are called it's because you've crossed the line from neighbor to weirdo/potentially dangerous person. There are so many ways out before police violence starts I have little mercy for this person."

The situation developed just days before Christmas, and it started collecting attention because of a video of the encounter between the man's wife and officers who had been summoned by the neighbor.

Lincoln and Slavery, Myths and Legends... Free at Last? Not so Fast!
Initially, the Emancipation Proclamation effectively freed only a small percentage of the slaves, those who were behind Union lines in areas not exempted. Most slaves were still behind Confederate lines or in exempted Union-occupied areas. Secretary of State William H. Seward commented, "We show our sympathy with slavery by emancipating slaves where we cannot reach them and holding them in bondage where we can set them free." Had any slave state ended its secession attempt before January 1, 1863, it could have kept slavery, at least temporarily. The Proclamation only gave Lincoln the legal basis to free the slaves in the areas of the South that were still in rebellion. However, it also took effect as the Union armies advanced into the Confederacy.The Emancipation Proclamation was ridiculed for freeing only the slaves over which the Union had no power. Over 50,000 were freed the day it went into effect[3] in parts of nine of the ten states to which it applied (Texas being the exception).[4] In every Confederate state (except Tennessee and Texas).The proclamation did not cover the 800,000 slaves in the slave-holding border states of Missouri, Maryland, West Virginia or Delaware, which had never declared a secession; slaves there were freed by separately state and federal actions. The state of Tennessee had already mostly returned to Union control, so it also was not named and was exempted. Virginia was named, but exemptions were specified for the 48 counties that were in the process of forming West Virginia, as well as seven other named counties and two cities. The American Civilized War
The United States of America is a parody of its self. One Hundred and Forty Nine Years have passed and the same song is being sung by some. We are a nation that cannot agree, and we jump to conclusions rather than solutions. Maybe some scars haven’t healed, but probably more than likely some just don’t understand the implications of their words or actions.
In April of 1861 the state of South Carolina began an artillery barrage of the United States Fort Sumter. In that exchange of artillery began the largest fight between Federalism and Confederacy in the United States of America. 618,000 Americans died in the conflict that was meant to end the debate that has raged since the days of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Paine.
Yet, we are repeating the worse of our history. In reflection like quality; rogue groups within our nation have begun to incite irrational fear and anger over presumptions not truths.
Perhaps people of today do not understand our nation’s history or its founding father’s decisions. I would love to assume that this is the truth. Examining these two time periods I am bound to conclude that the irrational fear and anger is planned. It is being perpetuated by individuals that do understand our nation’s history.
The American Civil War was started because of one man. Abraham Lincoln is at fault for the nearly 700,000 casualties. Yet, it wasn’t his doing. In the autumn of 1860 when he became elected; groups within the southern states incited fear and anger over impending rules and regulations. They believed Lincoln would put pressure on them that would change their way of life. Instead of handling these allegations in a proper civilized way the states reacted violently. Abraham Lincoln would later become a martyr for a Federalized Government.
The same thing is happening today. Fringe groups have taken to the airwaves and our street corners preaching a message that has no physical meaning. They are protesting a theoretical issue instead of any real issues. Their messages are empty and hollow. They speak with arrogance and shaman style warnings, but they reason without discourse.
They do not understand the waters they are treading. They do not understand that others have tried their reasoning and approaches and have failed. The Confederate States of America are gone. Yet, I do not think some know they are advocating for a Confederacy. They do not want a Federal government, but it appears they want to keep a Democratic Republic. Their arguments are full of these types of paradoxes.
It is insensitive to say this but it has to be said. You cannot have the uneducated voicing a people. Leaders need to have an ability to convey a message to The People not just their own people. I have yet to meet one self described “Tea Party” member that can bring intelligent point and counter points to the table.
There is an infinite number of reasons why the Tea Party/Ultra Conservatives/Ultra Liberals will fail but here is a few:
Tea Party:
You are a party named after American Colonist refusal to accept taxes created by Great Britain because the colonist were not being represented as a citizen by the crown. Yet, since 1788 taxes have been created by people elected by the people.
You call for destabilization of the Federal Government, yet you have to alternative. Where would that leave us? At the hands of state governments? Where laws would (even more so) drastically change over state lines? Where population heavy states would become dominant players in our country. You would be calling for the very thing that was supposed to be prevented. Do you think Rhode Island would have much of a chance in debating with Connecticut?
You attribute the power of the United State economy with Capitalism. Yet, you refuse to understand that the United States is far from Laissez-faire. Before F.D.R drastically changed the United States economy we were operating in a somewhat Laissez-faire manner. Our economy was horrible at this point. When Roosevelt changed the economy we created new enemies. The Axis of the World War II sensed our change and thus our potential in shaping the world. They lost the war and the United States became what it is today.
Ultra Conservatives:
You are blind by the power of individual thought versus the betterment of humanity. You have a sense of right and wrong, but only to your own accord. You have no ability to sense injustice and basic human rights outside of your own circles.
You look upon the founding fathers for comfort and posterity. Yet, you do not understand their messages or plans. You learn the facts of history but not the whys. You see George Washington as a founding father. You call upon the U.S. Constitution to defend asinine presumptions yet you denounce sections that protect those who you see as enemies.
You create hate and fear with broad statements about injustice. You put groups in fear and negative light in the same sentence that you swear to protect others.
Ultra Liberals:
You have no direction and no message. You speak for common sense, but do not have any to speak about. You call for great actions to be taken across the land but you have no formula or reason for doing so. You are a crowd pleaser with no content.
You blame others for what has been done. Yet you stood by as the very things were done. You act as if you were born after the atrocities and you're rectifying your father’s mistakes. You were cowards as crimes were committed and now that the monster has breathed it’s last breathe you come out of your hut to claim that the monster will never hurt us again.
You look at yourselves as white knights; Champions of good over evil. But, you have proven otherwise. You take great measures to look like you bettering the human race but the only thing you do is not hurt the human race more. Our systems are archaic and you see your selves as progressives. You have no ability to convey a message and the U.S. would be better off not having you as a spokesman for important issues. Glenn Beck Condemns Obama's Christianity, Calls for "Religious Revival"
Standing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, conservative talk show host Glenn Beck led what turned out to be a largely religious rally, calling on the assembled crowds to bring America back to God. The event took place on the forty-seventh anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legendary "I Have A Dream" speech, leading to sharp criticisms of Beck for dishonoring Dr. King's memory, and the memory of that day. And indeed, as many have already pointed out, the racial dynamics of Beck's mostly-white rally and the much smaller but heavily African-American protest rally, led by Al Sharpton, seemed to provide a potent illustration of how far the country has yet to come.
Religion has slipped its way into recent media discourses, mostly because of the Park51 Center controversy and the revelation that disturbing number of Americans believe Barack Obama to be a Muslim. But many of these discourses have centered on the othering of American Muslims, which is why I was surprised to see a new twist in Beck's discussion of Obama's religion. Beck's new line is that while Obama may not be a Muslim, he is certainly a bad Christian. Specifically, Beck charged that Obama adhered to "liberation theology," a Catholic movement aligned with Marxism that originated in Latin America in the 1950's and '60s.
This morning, debriefing the rally on Fox News, Beck half-heartedly retracted an accusation of racism hurled at Obama last summer, saying that he had a "big fat mouth sometimes" (he may tie Dr. Laura for best non-apology of the year), but added that he made the comment because he "didn't understand Obama's theology."
Obama, Beck said, subscribed to liberation theology, which he described as centered on "oppressor and victim." This is not, Beck claimed, a theology which many Christians follow, because it is, in his words, the "direct opposite of what the gospel is talking about. It's Marxism disguised as religion." Beck took this complex theological discussion a little further, saying that while Obama believed that "your salvation is directly tied to collective salvation," while Beck (and all good Christians) believed that "Jesus came for personal salvation." Beck said "people aren't recognizing [Obama's] version of Christianity."
Liberation theology is not a new subject for Beck, who devoted an entire episode last July to attacking the idea that Jesus was a victim. "Social justice," Beck said, "isn't in the Bible...Jesus was a conqueror. Jesus conquered death."
Beck's deep misunderstanding of both liberation theology and much of Christianity itself are obvious in these remarks, and illustrate the extent to which Beck is willing to harness religious rhetoric for political aims. I don't know whether Obama subscribes to liberation theology, but if he does, it's in theory rather than in practice, because the movement itself has very little political influence today. His beliefs correspond to a basic tenet of Christianity: the obligation of the Christian to care for others. This is repeated throughout the New Testament, from Matthew 25:40 ("Just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me [Christ]") to Paul's epistle to the Romans, where he writes, "We, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another." This doesn't seem to jive with Beck's assertion that because Christians believe that they are saved through God's grace, this translates into an exclusively personal vision of salvation.
In an interview on Religious Dispatches, Union Theological Seminary president Serene Jones addressed Glenn Beck's bizarre formation of grace, saying,
"Just as grace reminds us as individuals that there is nothing we can do to earn the love of God—that it is simply poured out upon us—so too it reminds us that at a political level, the minute we start constructing political structures that we think are unambiguously right, we are making our own politics into God. Nobody does that more than Glenn Beck."
Obama's interpretation of Christianity is not radical - and it is in fact Glenn Beck who is deeply out of sync with fundamental Christian ideals. When asked, on Fox News, how he would respond to critics of his wealth, Beck responded "the money doesn't matter." It's hard to believe that Beck hasn't read the gospel of Matthew, where Christ says to a young man, "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give the money to the poor" (Matt. 19:21), but from his comments, it seems that he's never bothered to read or wrestle with the scriptures that he seems so eager for Americans to embrace.
Perhaps it would be best for Beck simply to listen to Martin Luther King, Jr., who wrote, "Any religion that professes to be concerned about the souls of men and is not concerned about the slums that damn them, the economic conditions that strangle them and the social conditions that cripple them is a spiritually moribund religion awaiting burial." Is Beck's God the one that we want America to turn toward? Ford to Sell Hybrid at Price of Gas Counterpart
(AP) For the first time, an American automaker plans to sell a hybrid car for the same, lower price as its gas-powered counterpart, removing at least one obstacle for drivers who want a greener ride.
At a little more than $35,000, the 2011 Lincoln MKZ sedan won't be cheap, but the decision by Ford to match the prices of the two styles could lead competitors to follow suit with future models.
The hybrid MKZ, debuting this fall and running on both gas and electric power, will be a bargain after factoring in savings at the pump. It gets more than double the mileage of the traditional version in city driving.
While automakers won't reveal what they spend to install a hybrid system in a car, the final product usually costs several thousand dollars more than a gas-powered version of the same car.
The Lexus HS 250h, the MKZ's closest competitor, costs about $2,500 more than the Lexus IS, a similar, small, gas-powered sedan. Ford charges $8,840 more for the hybrid version of its Ford Escape SUV.
The MKZ can still make money even if Lincoln doesn't charge more for the hybrid, said Erich Merkle, president of the consulting company Autoconomy.com. Luxury cars are sold at a significant premium, he said, ensuring a profit for Ford.
Lincoln can also borrow the hybrid system from the Ford Fusion, its corporate twin, and save on development costs.
"Conventional wisdom is that the hybrid should be priced higher, but there's not really anything to say that a hybrid has to command a higher price," Merkle said.
Besides, Ford had to keep the price down, said Jessica Caldwell, an analyst for Edmunds.com. If it had sold for more than $40,000, it would have faced tougher competition from luxury cars like the Mercedes E-Class or the Audi A6, she said.
"It's going to take moves like this one to break into the luxury market," she said.
Other automakers may not try to match Lincoln's move if it is limited to the MKZ, but they will have to take notice if Lincoln uses the same strategy with future hybrid models, said Aaron Bragman, an analyst with IHS Automotive.
John Felice, Lincoln's marketing manager, said pricing strategy is an opportunity to get buyers interested in the Lincoln brand. Even after a complete revamp of its cars in the past few years, Lincoln still lags behind other luxury brands. Lincoln sales were up 7.5 percent in the first six months of this year, compared with 17 percent industrywide.
Lincoln is also trying to make up for the sales it is losing by phasing out its Mercury brand, which includes two hybrids.
The MKZ is one of most popular Lincoln models, but its sales have fallen 5 percent so far this year.
The MKZ will get 41 mpg in the city and 36 on the highway. That beats the Lexus HS 250h, which gets 35 mpg in the city and 34 on the highway.
