SEATTLE -- A new look at test scores by Seattle Public Schools shows American-born black students lag behind black immigrants in academic achievement.
African-American students, whose primary language is English, perform significantly worse in math and reading than black students who speak another language at home, The Seattle Times reported in Monday's newspaper.
The results were presented at a community meeting at Rainier Beach High School. Michael Tolley, an executive director overseeing Southeast Seattle schools, said at the meeting that the data exposed a new achievement gap that is "extremely, extremely alarming."
The school district for years has analyzed test scores by race, but now is doing a more nuanced breakdown.
District officials have pledged to find out what might be causing this disturbing trend.
But some community members said the administration doesn't appear to be taking the results seriously enough.
"I saw that and I was shocked," Rainier Beach PTSA President Carlina Brown said about the presentation. "I was shocked, and we're not getting a sense of urgency from the district. We need a timeline. Not another committee. We need to know what they're doing and when."
District officials said they need to study the new data further before speculating about the reasons for it or making policy changes in response.

A common attack upon conservatives and republicans by the ultra left is to engage in what has come to be known as "playing the race card" but is more accurately described as racial McCarthyism. Hardly a day goes by without a member of the far left wing falsely accusing conservatives of racism, bigotry, and a wide array of similar nasty things. They are not only dishonest, but they often border on the absurd, as in NAACP leader and hyper bigot Julian Bond's recent implication to his organization that Bush administration officials supported confederate slavery. Amazingly, Bond's statements went without condemnation from the radical Democrat party or others in his organization.

To read Liberal media and their description of the Koch Brothers one would think they are worse than al Qaeda. An example of this unhealthy obsession may be found in a recent headline by The New Yorker titled: Covert Operations: The billionaire brothers who are waging a war against Obama.
Sounds vaguely evil, doesn’t it?
The Koch brothers are white, in their 70s, involved in oil and gas, paper cups, and even stain resistant carpet, their company earns about $100 billion per year, and they donate to charity and political causes. In short, they are the perfect Liberal Boogeymen throwing levers behind the scenes (perhaps in smoking jackets) working for some type of conspiratorial plan to wrest control of the nation away from the majority.
Nonsense they are yet another in a long line of political “donors” who use their money to help shape the debate in Washington. For 2010 Koch Industries gave $2.8 million to mostly Republican candidates, placing them #41 on the list of largest donors to political parties in America. By comparison, ActBlue (a Democratic special interest group) gave $29 million, all of it to Democrats making them #1 on the list of donors. In fact, Democrats took the top 3 spots for largest campaign money (about $48 million).
As Matt over at Conservative Hideout has written, the Koch Brothers obsession stems from the “Useful Idiots” of the Democratic Party who don’t really know fact from fiction but serve the purpose of parroting the party message even though their knowledge is 10 miles wide but 0.1 inches deep.
Hot Air has an article responding to Liberal writer Richard Esko at HuffPo wondering why oh why the Tea Party seems to be winning the war of ideas. Predictably, the Koch Brothers are raised as a key reason:
Why did Tea Partiers win such a major victory? Money, for starters. The Tea Party’s generously funded by billionaires like the Koch Brothers.
As we pointed out recently, Democrats never or rarely mention the role their own special interests play in their defeats because a lot of money goes to their party from them:
By focusing on the Koch Brothers, what Democratic writers and activists do is create a massive blind spot regarding why their party never seems to do very well overall in elections. The percentage of Americans in unions has been dropping quickly for decades and the public has shown an increasing dislike for them. Wisconsin might have been the first state to put the hammer to Big Union but many states are making plans to follow this path.
Big Union and groups like ActBlue (of which George Soros is a huge donor) push Democrats to the extreme Left, a position the American public has steadfastly rejected time after time.
If Liberals are aghast by the influence they claim the Koch brothers have why are they also not upset by how much more money flows into their party than to the Republicans by ActBlue, SEIU, and the American Federation of Teachers?
Because their money helps them get the right message out, that’s why.

Tea Party Nation is a major (for-profit) Tea Party organization that gained prominence after its convention last year hosted Republican leaders like Sarah Palin and Tom Tancredo, along with Religious Right figures Roy Moore and Rick Scarborough. TPN’s President Judson Phillips previously denounced the “Marxist” Methodist Church and suggested that President Obama’s campaign was funded by Hamas and China.
This morning, Tea Party Nation sent out an email to its members with the headline “Destroy the Family, You Destroy the Country!” from an article by Dr. Rich Swier, a contributing editor to the anti-Muslim group Family Security Matters. Writing for Tea Part Nation, Swier says that “The title of this column is a direct quote from Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, the first leader of the former Soviet Union. Lenin's vision was for the state (Communism) to replace the family as the provider of all things necessary for life and happiness. What Lenin did not foresee was his political policies leading to the eventual extinction of Russian civilization.” Swier goes on to lament the falling birthrate of native-born Americans compared to immigrants, and warns that “American culture” will soon perish since the “White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (WASP) population is headed for extinction”:
What is keeping America's fertility rate up are immigrants - both legal and illegal.
"There are those in America who are continuously attacking the family, bent on redefining marriage and have established anti-family government programs. This has led to downward pressure on our national total fertility rate. Remember Andrew Breitbart? He was the man who used selectively-edited video to paint Shirley Sherrod as a racist, to smear the NAACP, and to accuse the Obama administration of reverse racism. It was all a big, premeditated lie.1
Unbelievably, ABC News now plans to have Breitbart participate in their Election Night coverage, despite his history as a deceitful operative who distorts, lies, and race-baits.2
ABC's decision is a slap in the face to Shirley Sherrod, to Black America, and to everyone who believes in the value of telling the truth. It's unacceptable. Please join us in calling on ABC News and its parent company Disney to drop their plans to include Breitbart now:

The distorted video pushed by Breitbart showed Ms. Sherrod telling a story about how she once was asked for help by a White farmer, and how she didn't "give him the full force of what [she] could do" to help him, because of his race. In reality she was telling the story of how working with that family to save their farm helped her to lose her racial preconceptions.
Breitbart touted the video as evidence that the NAACP and the Obama administration tolerated racial discrimination against White people, saying that it showed Sherrod's "federal duties are managed through the prism of race and class distinctions." Breitbart's doctored video and false storyline moved quickly to FOX News, where on-air personalities called for Sherrod's firing. The day that the story became news, Sherrod was forced to resign from her post at the USDA.
The truth is that Sherrod was telling a 25-year old story about her work for a non-profit organization whose mission was to help Black farmers. Discrimination against Black farmers was rampant, and she described how she was first reluctant when approached by a White farmer named Roger Spooner for help (in her speech, Sherrod connects her reluctance to the fact that her father was killed by a White farmer 45 years ago). But after seeing that no one wanted to help Spooner, she worked to save his farm, and eventually became good friends with his family.
Once the full tape was obtained, it became clear what Sherrod was trying to do, and what Breitbart had done. But even after he was exposed, Breitbart refused to apologize, and continued to lie, as well as attack the NAACP and the Obama administration. Sherrod is now pursuing a lawsuit against Breitbart.
All this was actually nothing new for Breitbart — this is what he does. Posing as a journalist, Breitbart promotes and concocts fake stories and peddles them as news. It was Breitbart who showcased heavily doctored video showing two people posing as a pimp and prostitute supposedly getting services from ACORN (among other accusations). Of course, once it had been determined by legal authorities in several states that the tapes alleging misconduct had been altered and the storyline was completely fraudulent, it was too late: ACORN — which had a history of registering more low-income African-Americans to vote than any other organization in the country — had been destroyed.
After controversy began on Friday about Breitbart's planned participation in ABC's Election Night coverage, an ABC spokesperson confirmed that Breitbart would be participating in the coverage.3 Then, Saturday afternoon, after criticism grew even stronger from inside and outside the company, the executive producer of ABC News Digital indicated that Breitbart's role might be even more limited. Race baiting attempt by Kelly O'Donnell of NBC News ended in failure.
This video should serve as an illustration to tea party activists of different races on how to neutralize a race baiting question posed by a liberal in the media. Darryl Postell is the black tea party gentleman shown in the video being "interviewed by NBC Nightly News report Kelly O'Donnell who happens to be white. Kelly stated that "There aren't a lot of African-Americans men at these event." Then she asked Darryl “Have you ever felt uncomfortable"
Darryl's answer was the best answer anyone regardless of race could ever give. His answer solidified perfectly the contrast between what it is to be conservative versus what it is to be liberal. Darryl answered Kelly's race baiting question by saying "No, no, these are my people, Americans". Liberals are always trying to divide our nation among "racial and economic" lines. I've been to several tea parties and I have never once felt "uncomfortable". Then again, I don't have race on the brain 24/7 like some of the left like Kelly O'Donnell has. Most conservatives believe in a nationalist point of view. That simply means "love of country". Reagan coined the phrase "American Exceptialism". The left uses race as a control mechanism. They use it against non whites as a way to shame them into being subservient to their ideology. That is why the left uses terms like"Uncle Tom", "Sellout" etc. The left uses race against whites who don't subscribe to their ideology by labeling them "racists", "bigots" etc. Darryl is a man liberals loath. He is a man who isn't guided by race but by his beliefs and conventions. To say that liberals for the most part aren't big fans of this country isn't exactly breaking any new ground. On March 20, Democrats and the corporate media launched a misleading propaganda offensive claiming Tea Party protesters in Washington spat on Missouri Democrat Emanuel Cleaver and hurled racial epithets at members of the Congressional Black Caucus as they walked to the Capitol to cast a vote on Obama’s authoritarian health care bill.

White people will no longer make up a majority of Americans by 2042, according to new government projections. That's eight years sooner than previous estimates, made in 2004.
The nation has been growing more diverse for decades, but the process has sped up through immigration and higher birth rates among minority residents, especially Hispanics.
The U.S. has nearly 305 million people today. The population is projected to hit 400 million in 2039 and 439 million in 2050.
White non-Hispanics make up about two-thirds of the population, but only 55 percent of those younger than 5.
By 2050, whites will make up 46 percent of the population and blacks will make up 15 percent, a relatively small increase from today. Hispanics, who make up about 15 percent of the population today, will account for 30 percent in 2050, according to the new projections.
Asians, which make up about 5 percent of the population, are projected to increase to 9 percent by 2050.
The population 85 and older is projected to more than triple by 2050, to 19 million.
