There is nothing new or shocking about the video Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson are touting (while foaming at the mouth) as “exclusive.” Carlson’s The Daily Caller, a paper run by and for the delusional teabagger sect of our society, seems to be more desperate than ever to paint the current president as some kind of angry black man, rather than the mild mannered, level headed Commander-in-Chief we know him as. The thing is, though, in trying to use the 2007 video, Carlson and Hannity have finally confirmed the racists we have long believed them to be.

President Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, believes Jews are preventing him from getting in touch with the president of the United States, reports the Hampton Roads Daily Press.
The Daily Press: "Wright says he does not feel any regrets over his severed relationship with President Barack Obama, a former member of the Chicago church in which Wright was the longtime pastor.
"Wright also said that he had not spoken to his former church member since Obama became president, implying that the White House won't allow Obama to talk to him. He did not indicate whether he had tried to reach Obama…
"Asked if he had spoken to the President, Wright said: 'Them Jews aren't going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter, that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office…They will not let him to talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. ... I said from the beginning: He's a politician; I'm a pastor. He's got to do what politicians do.'"President Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, believes Jews are... more

Jeremiah Wright made his most extensive comments to date about Barack Obama and the race for the presidency during a radio interview Tuesday evening.
Wright insisted that the person that America grew accustomed to seeing -- portrayed in snippets of past sermons -- isn't who he really is.
And even as he watched with pride on Election Night, he said he's disappointed to still find himself as fodder for the media.
"It was a great evening with the exception of the media, as always. I was watching the CNN results and as they were praising President-Elect Obama they said he ran a flawless campaign. And one commentator said, 'No, no, there was the Jeremiah Wright incident.' Now, why, on Election Night, do you have to do that?" Wright said during the radio interview.
He said he feels the media vilified him, and points to an analysis of coverage by "The Monthly Review" magazine. It shows how often Wright was covered compared to other politically-linked pastors.
John McCain the controversial John Hagee were featured 583 times, while Obama and Wright were covered 6,146 times, often times picking up a similar narrative about him.Jeremiah Wright made his most extensive comments to date about Barack Obama and the... more

"For nine months, I kept quiet," Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said today at Mosque Maryam in Chicago, "because I saw that the good words that I spoke about this beautiful young man" -- President-elect Obama -- "at our Saviours' Day convention and the way they were misused. I decided it would be better for me to just be quiet rather than be drawn into the controversy that was swirling around his pastor, Father Pfleger, and others."
"I feel freer today to say the things that are in my heart," said the controversial religious leader.
For a limited time Farrakhan's sermon can be viewed HERE.
Last week, Obama's former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright emerged to speak at Kingdom Life Christian Church sponsored by the Theological Education Institute of Hartford.
"The world doesn't know about my 41 years of ministry, or my writing of books, because it was all taken down to a 10-second sound bite that the media chose to show about a sermon that was delivered seven years ago," Wright said. "The media didn't care about the whole sermon and what it was about. They just used those 10 seconds and used it as a weapon of mass destruction against [Obama's] campaign."
And on election day, education professor William Ayers, a former member of the violent radical group the Weather Underground, gave an interview to the New Yorker's David Remnick.
Ayers told Remnick that he knew Obama only slightly: “I think my relationship with Obama was probably like that of thousands of others in Chicago and, like millions and millions of others, I wished I knew him better.” He described what happened to him as "Swift-boating."
“It’s all guilt by association,” Ayers said. “They made me into a cartoon character -- they threw me up onstage just to pummel me."
Ron Radosh takes issue with some of the assertions Ayers makes HERE.

Words, language, rhetoric have been given a lot of attention this election season. From Hillary Clinton's mockery of Barack Obama's prose to McCain and Palin's insistence that the young senator is all rhetoric and no record, there has been a curious appeal to the meaninglessness of language. Yet at the same time, Obama's opponents hang on to every last sentence uttered by his former preacher Jeremiah Wright as if Barack Obama had said those words himself. If anything, this election has proven that language matters.
Today's F Word comes courtesy of Lois Weaver of the legendary Split Britches Theater Company. Weaver takes the words of a well known preacher and gives them new meaning.Words, language, rhetoric have been given a lot of attention this election season.... more

So ever since this election switched from practical bread-and-butter issues like how much Democrats are going to tax Jesus to fund their gay-married abortion babies to fluff like "the economy" and "the recession" and "the apocalyptic collapse of global capitalism" it looks like everybody's gonna vote for Barack Obama. Well good for you, see if Giblets cares, Giblets doesn't care about the stupid ol' presidency anyway. But before you go and throw your vote away just ask yourself: who is Barack Obama? "Oh well Giblets Barack Obama is the junior senator from Illinois who is running for president on some moderate health care and tax reform plans and a foreign policy which is actually very similar to John McCain's," you say because you are irritating and stupid and I hate you. Yes yes but who is Barack Obama, really? "Well he was born in Hawaii to Ann Dunham and Barack Obama, Sr. and spent part of his childhood in Indonesia and was a community organizer and a law professor before running for the Illinois state senate." Okay okay but who is Barack Obama, really, while I am playing scary music and flashing this terrifyingly desaturated image of Barack Obama in a turban across your television screen? "Oh my god I have no idea, who is this mysteriously radical mystery radical!" Giblets is glad you asked!
FACT! Barack Obama and sixties radical Bill Ayers were both associated with the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a radical education foundation whose radical goal is to radically educate black children by educating them... while they are still black.
FACT! Barack Obama spent twenty years in the same church as radically black pastor Jeremiah Wright, who has been known to make such incendiary claims as "white people enslaved black people" and "white people killed Native Americans." Is Barack Obama part of the international black conspiracy to trick white people into thinking about racism? Answer: maybe.
FACT! Barack Obama has been friends with Rashid Khalidi, an openly Arab Arab who is so Arab he writes about other Arabs. Is Barack Obama part of the international Arab conspiracy to trick white people into thinking about Arabs? Answer: also maybe.
FACT! Barack Obama talks about his white mother and his white grandparents and the white half of his family that is white, but did you know that half of his family is also black? In fact, half his family is so black that Obama keeps them hidden away on a whole other continent where they speak in a strange, otherworldly code which is not even English. What is Obama trying to hide? Possibly something black. BONUS FACT! Barack Obama may be half-white and half-black, but he married a woman who is completely black. In a way, doesn't that make him three-quarters black? Math doesn't lie, people!
FACT! "Obama" is an ancient Muslim name meaning "He Who Deceives the White Man with his Telegenic Charisma, Angular Good Looks, and Deceptively Conservative Policy Proposals." Coincidence? Or co-bama?
FACT! The previous fact was made up. But doesn't the fact that it was so easily made up prove that a kernel of truth must exist within the lie, and doesn't the existence of that kernel of truth prove that the lie is, in fact, true? Think about it! But not very hard!
FACT! Barack Obama was a community organizer. ACORN is made of community organizers. Acorns come from oak trees. Oak trees belong to the genus Quercus, which includes Quercus faginea, the Portuguese oak. The prime minister of Portugal is José Sócrates, whose last name looks like Socrates, who lived in Athens, which is also a city in Georgia, whose state fruit is the peach, which is native to China, which is exactly what Osama bin Laden was eating off of while he was plotting to destroy the Twin Towers. It's all connected, people - they just don't want you to know! And they could be black.

When Sarah Palin said she was taking off the gloves, she wasn't just whistling "Onward, Christian Soldiers."
Or was she?
In the wake of the vice presidential debate, Palin has trained her moose-hunting sights on bigger trophies -- Barack Obama and the media.
In Colorado a few days ago, she told fans that Obama pals around with terrorists. Later in Clearwater, Fla., resplendent in white against a backdrop of red, white and blue, she said, "This is not a man who sees America the way that you and I see America, as the greatest source for good in this world. I'm afraid this is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to work with a former domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country."
"Booooooooooooo."
On Monday, Bill Kristol wrote in his column that Palin thinks Obama's association with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright needs to be discussed more.
Because hardly anyone ever mentioned it?

He almost wrecked Barack Obama's presidential dreams, and now firebrand pastor Jeremiah Wright has helped destroy a Dallas church worker's marriage - and her job, The Post has learned.
Elizabeth Payne, 37, said she had a steamy sexual affair with the controversial, racially divisive man of the cloth while she was an executive assistant at a church headed by a popular Wright protégé.
When word of the unholy alliance got out, Payne's husband dumped her, and she was canned from the plum job at Friendship-West Baptist Church, she told The Post.
"I was involved with Rev. Wright, and that's why I lost my job and why my husband divorced me," Payne said.
She refused to reveal when the adulterous affair started or how she met Wright.
But fellow churchgoers at Friendship-West "found out about the affair in the spring," Payne said.
At the time, she was secretary to the Rev. Frederick Haynes III, a longtime Wright disciple.
In April, Payne organized a series of Texas public appearances by Wright, 67. Weeks before, Obama had disavowed his preacher of 20 years after Wright's anti-government rants came to light.
"Liz was by Rev. Wright's side day and night during those days," a church source said.
"It's all true," said Payne, adding that she has filed a wrongful-dismissal claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to get her job back.
In an ironic twist, Wright last night spoke at an East Orange, NJ, church revival on the subject of "unexpected problems."
"There's no such thing as a problem-free relationship," he told a packed Elmwood United Presbyterian Church. "In life, you'll have unexpected problems."
He punctuated his 45-minute sermon with evocative 1960s hits, including the Supremes' "Where Did Our Love Go," Frankie Beverley's "Joy and Pain," and the Temptations' "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." He's set to speak there again tonight.
Payne's husband, Fred Payne, 64, said he learned of the affair in late February, when he discovered e-mails between his wife and Wright.
"There must have been about 80 of them, back and forth," he said. "Wright said things like he was going to leave his wife for Elizabeth."
Wright has been married to his second wife, Ramah, for more than 20 years.
The preacher reportedly wooed Ramah away from her first husband in the 1980s, when the couple came to marriage counseling at Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.
After discovering he had been cuckolded, Fred Payne, who had married Elizabeth in October 2006, headed straight for divorce court.
"I was downright mad about this bull- - - -," said Fred, who said he is "in the oil and gas business," belongs to a hunting club and makes his own bullets in his garage.
"People wouldn't be happy to know that my wife was sleeping with a black man."
He added, "Rev. Haynes doesn't like the interracial thing, either. This was quite an issue for him."
Elizabeth Payne said she has been banished by Haynes and the flock at Friendship-West.
"I'm not a member of the congregation anymore; I'm not even allowed on the premises," she said.
Wright became an embarrassment for Obama after videos of the preacher's old sermons emerged.
In them, Wright blamed the United States for the 9/11 attacks and boomed, "God damn America!"

EXCERPT: ...it is nevertheless astonishing that American Jews are so blinded by hatred of the Republicans that they are prepared to ignore the fact that Obama speaks out of two sides of his mouth over Israel; ignore the fact that every single one of his foreign policy advisers is hostile to Israel; ignore the fact that he would appease the genocidal fanatics of Tehran; and not only ignore the fact that for twenty years his spiritual adviser was a man who supports the Islamist antisemite Louis Farrakhan but regard it as definitely ‘off-limits’ even to mention it.
Just imagine, as a thought experiment, if McCain was revealed to have been brought into the church by and spent 20 years sitting at the feet of a minister who turned out to be a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Would Bob Shrum be sneering then that the voters ‘don’t buy this personal stuff’? Au contraire – you wouldn’t see the rapidly departing Republican candidate for dust. One rule for the Democrats and another for the Republicans, it seems, when a charismatic orator promises a glorious new dawn for mankind -- and reason takes a dive.

Over the course of the past several months and since Barack Obama and his pastor have hit the mainstream media, race has been at the forefront of hot topics within the American political arena.
Following are various clips from conservative media outlets commenting on race, Barack and Michelle Obama, and offering often times skewed and ill perceived commentary on issues both within and outside of the black community.
Patriotism is not a characteristic of convenience, it must be present at greatest moments of triumph for a nation but must also be the root for unarmed critique and analysis of the actions of one's own country. America is a great nation but we have committed acts that are notable alongside some of the greatest atrocities in world history.
Truth cannnot be serial, constantly waiting for another perceived truth to come along and take its place. Truth can exist in multiple instances. "Barack Obama has resigned his 20 year membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago in the aftermath of inflammatory remarks by his longtime pastor the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and more recent fiery remarks at the church by another minister.
Obama campaign communications director Robert Gibbs said Obama had resigned from the church "over the last few days."
Campaign aides said they weren't immediately certain how the resignation took place, whether by letter or in some other fashion, and were trying to find out.
Messages left for a church spokeswoman in Chicago were not immediately returned Saturday afternoon.
The development came as Obama campaigned in South Dakota.
Obama said he disagreed with Wright but initially portrayed him as a family member he couldn't disown. The preacher had officiated at Obama's wedding and been his spiritual mentor for some 20 years.
But six weeks after Obama's well-received speech on race, Wright claimed at an appearance in Washington that the U.S. government was capable of planting AIDS in the black community, praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and suggested that Obama was acting like a politician by putting his pastor at arm's length while privately agreeing with him.
Obama denounced those Wright comments as "divisive and destructive."
Comments by Wright inflamed racial tensions and posed an unwanted problem for Obama, front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, as he seeks to wrap up the nomination.
More recently, racially charged remarks from the same pulpit by another pastor, the Rev. Michael Pfleger, kept the controversy alive and proved the latest thorn in the side of Obama. Pfleger mocked Obama rival Hillary Rodham Clinton as a guest speaker at Obama's church.
Although Obama condemned comments by both Wright and Pfleger, the controversy has persisted.
For months, Obama has been hamstrung by the rhetoric of Wright, whose sermons blaming U.S. policies for the Sept. 11 attacks and calls of "God damn America" for its racism became fixtures on the Internet and cable news networks.
Initially, Obama said he disagreed with Wright but portrayed him as a family member he couldn't disown. The preacher had officiated at Obama's wedding and been his spiritual mentor for some 20 years.

On Thursday, Obama was again forced to reject another man of the cloth, this time Pfleger, who made racially charged comments mocking Clinton in a guest sermon at Obama's church.
Obama made it clear he wasn't happy with the comments — in which Pfleger pretended he was Clinton crying over "a black man stealing my show" — and said he was "deeply disappointed in Father Pfleger's divisive, backward-looking rhetoric, which doesn't reflect the country I see or the desire of people across America to come together in common cause."
Pfleger, too, issued an apology, saying he was sorry if his comments offended Clinton or anyone else.
The timing of Obama's decision was clearly planned with an eye toward Washington and the calendar. The news broke late on a Saturday and while most of the political attention was focused on the Democratic National Committee's struggle to seat delegates from Florida and Michigan".

Now that Sen. Barack Obama has denounced his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, many of his critics, especially those who call themselves conservative, are happy he has put the dashiki-wearing, American-criticizing former Marine in his place.
See, these same voices, many that are allegedly Christian, have reacted with glee by calling Wright a prophet of hate and a race baiter.
They hold themselves up to be so concerned about their fellow brother and sister, yet if you looked at their personal lives, I doubt you'd find many with African-American friends and associates (and I doubt their staffs are the most diverse in the world, but that's another story).
But be careful what you ask for.
Now that Wright has set the so-called standard for what isn't acceptable for religious leaders, let's see these same critics take their own kind to task for making absolutely outlandish comments. Now that Sen. Barack Obama has denounced his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright,... more

Do white right-wing preachers have it easier than black left-wing preachers? Is there a double standard?
The political explosion around the Rev. Jeremiah Wright was inevitable, given Wright's personal closeness to Barack Obama and the outrageous rubbish the pastor has offered about AIDS, Sept. 11 and Louis Farrakhan.
After Wright's bizarre and narcissistic performance at the National Press Club on Monday, Obama would have looked weak and irresolute had he not denounced him. But if there was a moment of courage in this drama, it was not Obama's condemnation of Wright but his earlier and now much-criticized effort to avoid a complete break with his unapologetic pastor.

The Nation magazine's Betsy Reed has written a brilliant analysis of the Clinton camp's strategic missteps, titled "Race to the Bottom." It will be the lead item in the next issue of the venerable progressive weekly.
"...What is most troubling - and what has the most serious implications for the feminist movement - is that the Clinton campaign has used her rival's race against him. In the name of demonstrating her superior 'electability,' she and her surrogates have invoked the racist and sexist playbook of the right - in which swaggering macho cowboys are entrusted to defend the country - seeking to define Obama as too black, too foreign, too different to be President at a moment of high anxiety about national security. This subtly but distinctly racialized political strategy did not create the media feeding frenzy around the Rev. Jeremiah Wright that is now weighing Obama down, but it has positioned Clinton to take advantage of the opportunities the controversy has presented. And the Clinton campaign's use of this strategy has many nonwhite and nonmainstream feminists crying foul. ...
"The Wright, Farrakhan and Ayers controversies have been fueled by a craven media, and ABC's performance in the debate has rightly been condemned. But given that Clinton is the one who is running for President and who purports to represent liberal ideals, her complicity in such attempts to establish guilt by association is far more troubling. While she has dealt gingerly with the matter of Wright in the wake of his recent appearance at the National Press Club - accusing Republicans of politicizing the issue - she also took pains to remind reporters that she 'would not have stayed in that church under those circumstances.'
"It's disappointing, to say the least, to see the first viable female contender for the presidency participate in attacks on her black opponent's patriotism, which exploit an anxious climate around national security that gives white men an edge both over women and people of color -- who tend to be viewed, respectively, as weak and potentially traitorous. ..."The Nation magazine's Betsy Reed has written a brilliant analysis of the Clinton... more
