A new world record for the largest custard pie fight has been set in Colchester with 253 people gathering to throw 648 pies - filled with 200 litres of custard - in just a few minutes.
Marco Frigatti, vice president of Record Management at Guinness World Records, said the contest had to be conducted under official rules, including measuring the pies, counting them, and having each person in the fight throw at least twice.

Ashrita Furman, 54, is the world's most prolific Guinness World Record holder. He holds the record for being the world's best at 100 different activities.
He has broken 236 records, but was awarded this title for holding 100 titles simultaneously.

Doing 27,000 star jumps
Somersaulting over 12 miles and 390 yards
Chopping 27 apples mid air with a samurai sword

Possibly the bendiest woman in the world, 28 year old Iona Luvsandorj smashed the world record for holding the Marinelli pose. This pose involved Iona bending completely backwards and then suspending herself above the ground using only a short pole and her mouth. She held this pose for 33 seconds.

It's important to have a goal in life. Indian grocer Radhakant Baijpai certainly has one - to make sure that he has the longest ear hair in the world.
Radhakant was crowned the official Guinness world record holder for the longest ear hair back in 2003, when his aural fronds were an already-impressive 13.2cm long. But that didn't stop him pursuing his goal of ever-longer hair on his ears.
After several more years of carefully cultivating and caring for the ear-hair, Radhakant's tufts now stretch an astonishing 25cm. He is now waiting for Guinness adjudicators to confirm that he has set a new high, hairy bar for his chosen field.Ew!

During the shooting of the "Troublemaker" video in Los Angeles, Weezer broke not one but 6 world records. A Guinness official certified the following accomplishments:
- Longest Guitar Hero World Tour Marathon (10 hours, 12 minutes and 54 seconds);
- Largest Air Guitar Ensemble (233 participants);
- Largest Game of Dodgeball (two teams numbering 50 people each);
- Most People in a Custard Pie Fight (120 pie-throwers);
- Most People Riding on a Skateboard (22 people on a single ride);
and, most importantly:

Mozilla has officially made history with a new Guinness world record for the largest number of software downloads in a 24-hour period. The final record breaking 8,002,530 downloads for Firefox 3.0 took place in June with parties in over 25 countries. “The enthusiasm and creativity of Firefox fans was key to making this happen” said Marketing head Paul Kim. Gareth Deaves of Guinness World Records called it “an extremely impressive accomplishment”. The official figure was confirmed after logs from download servers were audited and checked to ensure duplicate and unfinished downloads were not counted. Marketing manager Mary Colvig said no party is planned to celebrate the record until the actual certificate is presented by Guinness World Records in London next week.
The company said while IE reached a record low last month, it predicted Firefox will break the 20% share bar sometime this month. Mr Kim said “We offer the best browsing experience and this shows people are getting the message and voting with their browser choice.” Meanwhile Mozilla has shipped a high priority update for Firefox 2.0, warning that there are at least five serious vulnerabilities that could lead to code execution attacks. Mr Kim said Mozilla will continue to support Firefox 2.0 until the middle of December.
