DJ Mehdi of Ed Banger Records has selected another "cool cat" from his blog, upcoming rapper Mapei. Mapei, raised in Stockholm, began rapping in basement parties and gained minor Youtube attention from her 2008 music video for "Video Vixens".Her sound has been compared to artists such as Kid Sister and Rye Rye. With a 2008 remix from Ghostface Killah and her upcoming EP called, "Leader of the Pack",Mapei is an artist to watch for in 2009. She will be apart of One Step Beyond on March 13, 2009 at the Rose Center for Earth and Space in New York along with Four Tet and Jon Hopkins.

According to music blog Idiolator.com, Ghostface Killah has been cut from the film Iron Man, which opens in theaters this Friday. The Staten Island emcee was awarded a cameo in the film, largely due to his own fascination - and debut album of the same name, amidst a fledging acting career.
