A massive switch from coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear power plants to solar power plants could supply 69 percent of the U.S.’s electricity and 35 percent of its total energy by 2050.
A new direct-current power transmission backbone would deliver solar electricity across the country.

I am so looking forward to seeing Mr. Gore's interview this Sunday night. I hope he gets to talk about The Alliance for Climate Protection's ad campaign scheduled to be launched next week, because I am hoping it brings a turning point in this country regarding the need to take action on climate change through awareness. And also, his response to the climate skeptics is right on target. Those centuries ago who claimed that the sun not the Earth was the center of the universe were treated with the same scorn and contempt as those scientists who have proven that we as humans are contributing to the affects of climate change. How fortunate for humanity that it did not place trust in those who thought the opposite or thought the world was flat.
I don't believe it is all about money either, though that is certainly a large part of it as many of those who dismiss the evidence of anthropogenic climate change in the skeptics movement have received money from oil and utility companies. I also think it is religious in nature (the will of God) opposing science, it is political, and it is also about the inability to take responsibility for one's actions.
None of those reasons however, should stand in the way of truth and that is exactly what those who refuse to see the evidence are doing: standing in the way of truth. Should we actually listen to the skeptics and decades from now after the glaciers have melted, after the water has begun to dwindle, after wars are fought for land, water, food and other resources with great loss to humanity and other species, will those who claimed this was all a hoax still believe that?
Let's hope we never have to find out. Let's hope we take action now to save not only the planet that is our only home but ourselves, a rare and precious species in a rare and precious universe too precious to bow to the whims of the few who simply wish to perpetrate lies to assuage their own wants over the needs of the whole.
Therefore, thank you Mr. Gore for being our Galileo.

Engineers from across Europe have successfully developed and flown a manned airplane powered by hydrogen and fuel cells — a first in history and a step towards cleaner and more energy-efficient aviation, Boeing announced Thursday.
The breakthrough is "full of promises for a greener future," Boeing Chief Technology Officer John Tracy told reporters at the company's research center in Ocana, Spain, where the aircraft was on display.
Given rising fuel costs and concerns about climate change, the air industry is keen to find ways to cut energy bills and emissions tied to global warming. While hydrogen is still expensive to produce as an energy carrier, it emits no pollutants.

The Alliance for Climate Protection is teaming with Al Gore on a new effort titled "We Campaign," which will use media outreach and advertising to drive initial interest. The $300-million campaign aims to build a grassroots movement to halt global warming, according to the communications team directing the launch.
The official kickoff was April 2, with the launch of print and television ads, as well as a new Web site, http://www.wecansolveit.org/. It was preceded by a 60 Minutes broadcast on March 30 , in which former Vice President Gore introduced the new project.
The show was Gore's first broadcast TV interview since winning the Nobel Peace Prize in October 2007.
An article in The Washington Post, as well as a press release issued the next day, helped to generate a flood of follow-on print, TV, and radio interest in the Alliance and campaign that "set the context" for the launch of the ads, said Brian Hardwick, director of communications for the Nashville, TN-based Alliance.
"We figured we had Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to build context around the campaign, so that on Wednesday, when people started seeing the ads on national broadcast [TV], they would know a little bit more about what they were seeing," Hardwick said. "[But] the hub of the campaign is really our Web site, which is designed to first ask people to join, and then give them opportunities to take all kinds of actions that make sense for them."
Overall, the campaign portrays global warming as a serious, but solvable crisis that affects people from every political party and walk of life. Initial campaign ads pair seemingly opposite types, like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, and former House Speaker and GOP leader Newt Gingrich, or the Revs. Pat Robertson and Al Sharpton.
Many groups worked to develop strategy and messaging for the campaign and its site, including the Alliance; its PR agency, Glover Park Group (GPG); Gore's communications director, Kalee Kreider; and the effort's advertising firm the Martin Agency.
Gore contributed his earnings from both the documentary An Inconvenient Truth, and the Nobel Peace Prize, to the Alliance. Additional funds were raised during the Live Earth concert held last summer, as well as from other nonprofit foundations.
Kreider noted that the "We Campaign" also benefits from the more than 2,000 people around the world that Gore has trained to give public presentations on climate change, similar to the one he gives in the documentary. These trainees serve as online representatives for the Web site, where visitors can get information on environmental-friendly practices. It also offers tips on how to contact media or legislators regarding global warming issues.

The propulsion system works by taking the usually-hindering power of waves to propel the boat forward. Two fins set at the front of the boat generate the power by moving up and down as the waves rock the boat. The fins act much like a dolphin’s tail, pushing the boat as the waves move past them. As if that wasn’t enough, the hull of the boat is made out of a super-thin recycled aluminum and solar power will be used for the ship’s interior electronics. The propulsion system works by taking the usually-hindering power of waves to propel... more

When I look outside on the streets and I spot growing up people or institutions doing what is wrong it really makes me wonder. Have the media or educational institutions done enough to teach people in the United States? I know we are in a cruel educational system and people getting out of schools are much willing to kill their mother to get out of debt, so what they are really learning? Just walk or ride a bus in San Francisco today and you will see the lack of social responsibility from Muni with their urban acoustic mistakes trespassing people homes, the Harleys roaring blasting not only their ears but also ours. The new remote control car lock that emits a short series of horn sounds or a special effects sound trespassing our living spaces, The individuals that modify their mufflers that expels not only more carbon dioxide but in addition low frequency noise in the environment -What that makes you think? -Does Harleydavison have any type of social responsibility? -Does Muni have any sense of social responsibility? Remember, we are in the end of year 2007, Bay Area, "one of the most technological advanced society in the world" and people have not understood or (do not want to) the relationship of noise and distance. Here is the question for you: And (YOU) I mean all the acoustic offenders out there, Muni, Motorcycles, Drivers, Car Alarms, Remote Control door lock, etc.
-How far does your noise reach into the environment? When I look outside on the streets and I spot growing up people or institutions doing... more

Is the door knob too high for you to reach? That is not your imagination playing tricks on you, probably it is!
Since 2001, The San Francisco MTA-Muni introduced the New fleet of Electric Buses on Union Street, San Francisco, California. Bus routes number 45 and 41. These buses in addition of being mechanically and technologically loud than the previous version, emits 3 types of offensive and intrusive noise signals trespassing inhabitants property lines. These signals are:
1. Beep signals that goes beyond property lines.
2. Voice signals that goes beyond property lines.
3. Sharp shooting whistles signals that goes beyond property lines.
-It is a mechanically acoustic cruel, mean and invasive system promoted by wrongful transportation lobbyists that transformed the interior of our living spaces in a bus stop, says many of San Franciscan's inhabitants, not releasing their names because of fear of retaliation.
-It seems that the City got out from one pollution mistake to fall into another one. You will going to hear and see attempts of lobbying and justification for this acoustic invasion, but none of them justify this unethical behavior or unlawful manners for acoustic pollution and trespassing of inhabitants property lines.
One of their justification is that the system is for orienting the blind and partially deaf in the City consequently assuming that everyone in the City is elderly, blind, partially blind or partially deaf.
- Nothing can justify acoustic trespassing even in the assumption that one possesses a physical disability, says an acoustic activist by the nickname "stopnoise." In the same token I might need money but I am not going to trespass and rob a bank to get it. I am also not going to brake into people house and steal their possessions and harm them physically in the process just because I am in need of it. Acoustic trespassing is not different from any other types and forms of trespassing in our society. Trespass is trespass no matter how you want to wrongfully justify it.
As Doctor Hagler, author of an acoustic publication in the Medical Journal, answering to a comment from a less acoustic concerned individual.
Dear Mr. Diaz:
I fear you have missed the point.
I am a retired physician with an interest in the public health effects of
noise pollution. Those of us in Noise Free America and other groups are not
opposed to people's choices in music. We are not concerned with rap or hip hop vs Vivaldi. We are opposed to the ceaseless and unwanted noise that washes over us at times, places and at volumes over which we have no control. We are opposed to noise over which others seem not to exercise control, restraint, or, consideration. We are opposed to noise because it is unhealthy. And this is not something to be sneezed at or trivialized.
There is now abundant (and continually growing) evidence that noise is not
merely an annoyance. It is not something that even grouchy old men like you
don't need to tolerate. Among its many adverse effects, noise damages
hearing, disturbs communication, disrupts sleep, impairs cardiovascular function, interferes with teaching and learning, reduces productivity, harms relationships, provokes unwanted behaviors, and increases accidents. It is a major source of recurring and often unrecognized stress, which, itself, degrades the quality of life and adversely affects health.
Pollution is pollution, irrespective of the source or the way it enters the
body. The ear is as important a portal for pollution as the lung, stomach,
or eye. It is the role of government to protect citizens from all forms of
pollution, including noise pollution. Polluters should be the target of swift, consistent, and meaningful penalties. From my perspective, a $200.00 fine and points on one's license are lenient.

Acoustic Trespassing it is a Legal term to identify Acoustic Pollution and Its Human Rights Violation and Torture.
If you are going to enter with a Legal Litigation Process against Public Transportation Acoustic Violations, or any other ones that fall into the same category, the Legal Term to use is:
"Acoustic Trespassing."
No one is trying to re-invent the wheel on this one and the legal principals and response for this human rights violation and urban menace falls into the same Laws of Physical Trespassing. No one have the right to trespass anyone's habitats property lines, being that physically or with any type of unwanted energy.
These unwanted energy can be:
1. Sound Waves - Acoustic Pollution
2. Radio Active Particles
3. Electric Magnetic Energy AKA (EMF)
4. Or any other form of harmful human created energy.

Part of the Social Architecture Class.
If you are an Engineer working for Traffic Management, here are the items you will learn.
1. How to create a Quiet and Safe Transportation Architecture and infrastructure.
2. The Ethical and Human Way to Develop Social Infrastructure by Respecting the Life of Humans and its Environment.
3. The main question one Architect and an Engineer can ask to themselves is:
How can I develop it in a way that is safe for human lives?
And I heard a voice in my Spirit that said:
"Fix the mistakes, Redevelop and Innovate it!"
In sensorial sciences philosophy the main application is to begin every project by analyzing the human health safety impact first. All the other things comes after that.
The motto here is: It has to be healthy, safe and clean, then we will take it! Part of the Social Architecture Class.

"I do not support any increased reliance on nuclear energy. Moreover, I have disagreed with those who would classify nuclear energy as clean or renewable. In fact, you will note that the electricity restructuring legislation proposed by the (Clinton) administration specifically excluded both nuclear and large-scale hydro-energy, and instead promoted increased investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy. It is my view that climate change policies should do the same." AL GORE "Every dollar invested in increased efficiency can save some seven times as much energy as can be produced by a dollar invested in nuke power." With Earth Day coming up next week, it is time for us to bring a new optimism into what we do, how we think, and how we inspire others regarding our planet and in solving the climate crisis. Al Gore brings a refreshing new look to this crisis and the opportunity we have as the generation with the challenge of solving it with his TED talk. I want my child to ask the question in years to come: how did you find the moral fortitude to solve this crisis and leave future generations with a sustainable planet. The other question is simply not an option.
