A French court has ordered eBay to pay €40 million (£31.6m; $63m) to luxury brand group LVMH -- Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Givenchy -- for allowing online auctions of brand knockoffs.
eBay is saying that they take counterfeits off the site immediately, but this wasn't a case of counterfeits but a case of LVMH "protecting uncompetitive commercial practices at the expense of consumer choice" and that they would appeal.A French court has ordered eBay to pay €40 million (£31.6m; $63m) to luxury... more
