In the rush to convert the original nature of their hate stain on the much-in-need-of-washing tablecloth that is Facebook from an effort to stop the inevitable recall of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to an inexplicable rage against anything having to do with Occupy Wall Street, the latest incarnation of “Operation Burn Notice,” now calling itself “Notice the Burn During the Operation” (because when Facebook removes your site for violation of its terms of service, you are generally not allowed to create a page with the same name), the “administrators” of the page (see “Aaron Burr, Howard Earl and Robin Causey, all of Arizona because they’re all the same person) do not care to engage in conversation with you about the subject unless you agree with them.

A major obstacle in Sen. Hillary Clinton's path to becoming President-elect Barack Obama's Secretary of State may be out of the way, as former President Bill Clinton has made several concessions to help move his wife's vetting process along.
Bill Clinton has agreed to release the names of some of his major donors, a source tells CNN.
Bill Clinton has agreed to release the names of some of his major donors, a source tells CNN.
A source familiar with the discussions between Hillary Clinton and the president-elect confirms to CNN that the former president will release the names of several major donors to the Clinton Foundation as well as submit future foundation activities and paid speeches to a strict ethics review.
In addition, the former president is offering to step down from his day-to-day responsibilities at the foundation and inform the State Department of his speaking schedule and any new sources of income.
Clinton said Wednesday that he would do whatever was asked of him in regards to the vetting process.
"Whatever they want, this is a deal between president-elect and Hillary and you should talk to them, but I'll do whatever they want," he said. "We're both committed, completely committed to his success so that's for them to work out. Whatever they do, I'll support."A major obstacle in Sen. CHICAGO — Before Senator John McCain delivers his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday, Senator Barack Obama will make a marquee appearance of his own.
Call it counter-intuitive. He will appear on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News Channel.
For Mr. Obama, it will be the first time in his presidential candidacy that he’s on Bill O’Reilly’s prime-time program. The appearance is intended to put Mr. Obama before a conservative audience, one week after drawing 40 million TV viewers at his own acceptance speech.
Mr. Obama has had a strained history with the network, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Is this a sign of burying the hatchet or simply politically smart programming? Stay tuned.CHICAGO — Before Senator John McCain delivers his acceptance speech at the... more

Human activities are cumulatively driving the health of the world's oceans down a rapid spiral, and only prompt and wholesale changes will slow or perhaps ultimately reverse the catastrophic problems they are facing.
Such is the prognosis of Jeremy Jackson, a professor of oceanography at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego, in a bold new assessment of the oceans and their ecological health. Publishing his study in the online early edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Jackson believes that human impacts are laying the groundwork for mass extinctions in the oceans on par with vast ecological upheavals of the past.Human activities are cumulatively driving the health of the world's oceans down a... more

Researchers say that preserved tissues found in the bones of dinosaurs are actually bacterial slime.
The remnants were found three years ago in a 70 million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex fossil by North Carolina State University paleontologist Mary Schweitzer. Scientists and the public were enthralled; that tissue could survive so long was almost inconceivable.
Schweitzer soon replicated her findings, raising hopes that dinosaurs had left behind more than dry, dusty bones. But in a study published today in Public Library of Science ONE, Burke Museum of Natural History paleontologist Tom Kaye argues that the Schweitzer's bits of blood vessels and cells are bacterial deposits.

"There are a number of snail farms set up in South America that service this market and it is here that the qualities of the snail extract were discovered. A doctor discovered that the workers on the snail farm had far softer hands than other manual workers in the region and that any cuts and scrapes they received healed in record time. "
The doctor then thought "Hey, lets milk the snails and sell the goo in jars." Or something like that."There are a number of snail farms set up in South America that service this... more
