A few weeks ago I did quick review of Deek Jenkins on this site
Link: http://current.com/items/89802601/deek_jenkins_one_of_the_best_bands_you_have_never_heard_of.htm
Since then I found this live video of the band performing "Outta My Way" While it is true that the vocals are kind of drowned out in the video I thought that it was worthwhile to give you a peek at the band doing a live show.
I think these guys are da shit when it comes to a live hard rock show. Their studio CD is great but Deek Jenkins is a band that you would really want to see live. Every time I have seen them they have the audience on their feet (and on chairs and tables) for a better vantage point. That is how intense it gets. This is NYC indie music at it's best.
You can listen to the canned version of their songs on their myspace page:

Recently, all breeds of dreams have taken a hit. Since I’m writing about applying to work at a swimming pool and not at a newsroom, I’ll leave the fact-gathering to the professionals. Suffice it to say that times are tough. Vegas tops the national foreclosure list. MGM Mirage just shed TI for a fire-sale price of $775 million. Our Savior Steve Wynn is cutting employee hours. Even the investors in Dubai have lost faith in the completion of CityCenter.
In the dread spring of ’09, a chance to work at a casino pool is the last hope for America. (That’s right Obama, Hope. For. America. So you can stop dogging Vegas now, thank you very much.)Recently, all breeds of dreams have taken a hit. Since I’m writing about... more

Meet the new Joint. Same as the old Joint? Not exactly. The second incarnation of the Hard Rock Hotel’s iconic music venue looks a lot like the first, a recent hard-hat tour confirms, but will be markedly different in several respects.
Of course, it’s too soon to say how the new venue will sound, but standing onstage peering out across what will soon be a sold-out sea for The Killers (April 17), Paul McCartney (April 19), Kenny Chesney (April 25) and, no doubt, Bon Jovi (April 24), there’s no denying the new Joint already looks like a more majestic—and user friendly—place to see a favorite band.
