can you remember when everyone in America was not “Going Green”? Visually stunning, vastly entertaining and awe-inspiring, Earth Days looks back to the dawn and development of the modern environmental movement-from its post-war rustlings in the 1950s and the 1962 publication of Rachel Carson’s incendiary bestseller Silent Spring, to the first wildly successful 1970 Earth Day celebration and the subsequent firestorm of political action.
They just launched a new site http://www.earthdaysmovie.com/
A superb documentary film by Robert Stone due out August 14th

at the CTNGREEN editing suite ... we have a marathon going to edit the videos that came in.
We just realized that we have only a few international submissions... and only 4 are in something other than english! - We would like to include everyone in their native spoken words... and Harrison just proved to me that this can be done with a cellphone video that is emailed to a special account we setup. We were very amazed that the quality was GREAT!
so do it in your own language!
HELLO to Mexico, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Japan, Korea, Hongkong, French Canadians, Singapore, China, Luxemborg, Finland, Belgium, Holland, Chile, Portugal and Brazil!
We got some stuff from the global community but want you all to know you are important to us and we would very much like your earthday messages, in your country language, native spoken words and writings ( add translations so we can subtitle better than google translates things).

Wow, are you kidding me. What's with the sponsorship!! McDonalds.
How come? Yeah the economy sucks and everyone is scrambling to stay afloat.
But does a channel and studio that supposedly is on the sustainability side of things and with a vision for making change on the planet choose to get in bed with McDonalds???
HELLO, does anyone else care???
What about Walmart is that next.
Choosing advertisers and VCAM sponsors should be something that is well thought process and just choosing them because the have the money should not be the reason!!!Dear Current TV!

CTNgreen and friends are making an Earthday Video Mashup of user generated clips - where the message is about Earthday and all that involves... Create a short sweet message and have it mashed into everyone elses clips for your basic 15 sec of fame with noteworthy greenthinkers and people from around the world. You make it - we edit - and it gets promoted just before April 22nd earthday. see http://ctngreen.com/2009/mar/?page=44
As long as it is sincere, CTN accepts more than just video... songs and poems, voicemail recordings, almost anything that can become media or be captured. Every clip that makes the final promoted version gets a Big bad Bag of Great Green Swag - ( eco products that fill a re-useable hemp shopping bag ) Lots of cool free stuff and samples.
www.ctngreen.com/mashup is the sign-in after you make your clip - its the way we keep track of submittors and accept the link to the video clip they made ( TOC and legal stuff ) . After signup You will get a reply email with all the particulars and a cool insiders URL to go see the mashup in progress. Hopefully it all gets in before April 10th when we commence the earthday mashup marathon compositing in the editing studio.
Note: Current is in no way involved in CTNgreen's Earthday Mashup contest and assumes no responsibility for it or its outcome.
This mashup is your basic user generated content and totally a CTNgreen thing with Causecast.org assisting to support some very important NonProfit endeavors. Of course we love Current for its very real way of being democratized and in where the action is, one of the finest places on the web to share and inform.
REQUIRED: - you need to signup at www.ctngreen.com/mashup to participate, and you must read and accept the terms and conditions at the time of confirming your opt-in... CTNgreen cant use your video without that opt-in. Avoid using Broadcast TV, major label music and such things that are scraped off established media sources - but you should know that already. Best entries will be original sincere messages from you and from the heart, as though you were in a direct conversation with the Earth keeping the thought of EarthDay as a celebration.
Many people already created Little shorts for earthday last year, we noticed that, and they were quite good but didnt get a lot of play, feel free to submit something you have already done for last year, or what you made for this years 60 One Minute Project ( we love that also and fully support them ) , or get that friend that helped you to rework it a bit and send it in.
We will have a player that presents many of the best clips in the supplied original full length form and its from that List that we will select winners to get Credited LinkedWe just added the ability to email phone video/photos to us.
