I love this story. It certainly reads like these folks are pandering to the masses and find it easier to lock up the, uh... already caged pig, rather than explain and educate them about how swine flu works.

Pictures of a shocking Nazi hate attack on a Jewish cemetery in the town of Gotha have horrified Germany.

BACON!
Swiss police moved quickly after reports came flooding in that a rural road had a 12-mile trail of blood running along it. You can't blame them, that much blood would surely make anyone think that some horrific crime had been committed.
The only crime committed was a heinous waste of pork; the blood had trickled out of the back of a local butcher' van which had spilled its cargo on its way to a local sausage factory. BACON!

LANCASTER, Mass. – This was no ordinary road kill. Massachusetts State Police say a 200-pound Russian wild boar was euthanized after being struck by a vehicle on a road in Lancaster earlier this week.
That was a big surprise to state wildlife experts. They say although some wild boars are known to live in northern New England, there never has been a native population of feral swine in Massachusetts.
Hunter Chester Hall said he was offered the carcass for coyote bait.

An enraged and hungry wild boar attacked a hunter, who then bled to death.
In recent months wild boars, whom zoologists consider to be Germany's "most dangerous animal", have expanded their comfort zones with city centers now also falling under their reign of destruction. This year alone, boars chased a pair of policemen onto a balcony in a suburb of Frankfurt, sent a pensioner to the emergency room in Berlin, and broke into a home improvement store before being shot to death at the checkout counter in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Now the stakes are even higher as an unlucky hunter, a married 72-year-old man from Berlin, lost his life when trying to dispatch a wild beast spotted feasting on maize in a cornfield 70 kilometers outside Berlin.
By the time other hunters found the man, he was lying on the ground bleeding heavily from his knee. They called an ambulance but it was too late. The boar warrior had punctured a major artery and the 72-year-old sportsman bled to death. An enraged and hungry wild boar attacked a hunter, who then bled to death.

In an interview with David Letterman, Barack Obama defended and joked about the lipstick flap calling it a part of the “silly season” in politics.
“It’s a common expression at least in Illinois,” Obama said, “I don’t know about New York City, I don’t know where you guys put lipstick on here.”
He went on to explain, “In Illinois the expression connotes the idea that if you have a bad idea, in this case I was talking about John McCain’s economic plans, that just calling them change, calling it something different doesn’t make it better hence lipstick on a pig is still a pig.”
But Obama later said that if he had been talking about Palin specifically, that she would have been the lipstick in the analogy and not the pig.
“The failed policies of John McCain would be the pig. I mean just following the logic of this illogical situation.”
Letterman asked Obama if he had actually ever put lipstick on a pig, to which Obama said no, “but I think it might be fun to try.”

Why? Well, there's a lot of mockery going on today. Of course standard fare during campaigns. Candidates make fun of their opponents for comedic effect, clarification, to make a point and to provide sound bites that the disliked media will undoubtedly report on.
Processed pork
The point Barack Obama was making today is that John McCain is not about change. Rather he and running mate Sarah Palin are about more of the same - no matter how they package it.
“You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig Obama said. ;You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called ;change;it' still going to stink.
