The Bush administration is drawing up plans to launch a strike against Iran within the next two months says a former top US diplomat. This will be the third Muslim country he's going to attack in a row.
The source, a retired US diplomat and former assistant secretary of state, said senior Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein of California and Republican Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana have already been briefed on the attack plan.
Both senetors are planning to go public with thier opposition to the Iran war "within" days.
This comes as Bush's ex-aide claims Bush wasn’t exactly "open and forthright on Iraq".

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has asked for a meeting with the Pope during a visit to Rome, a diplomatic source says.
The Iranian chief executive is among the heads of state expected to visit Italy's capital to attend the June 3-5 United Nations summit. Vatican sources said earlier this week that it was not yet clear whether Pope Benedict would meet individual heads of state attending the UN event on global food security.
If the meeting is arranged, it would be the first meeting between Pope Benedict and President Ahmadinejad. The Holy See enjoys diplomatic ties with Iran and the pontiff has met with Iran's Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki.

On Iran's state-owned tv, Channel One milions of Iranians are tunning into the hit weekly drama, "Zero Degree Turn," that centers on a love story between an French Jewish woman and a Iranian-Palestinian Muslim man.
But this aint no ordinary love story because it shows a heart-wrenching tale of European Jews during World War II. Over the course of the 22 episodes, the hero saves his love from Nazi detention camps, and Iranian diplomats in France forge passports for the woman and her family to sneak on to airplanes carrying Iranian Jews to their homeland.
"Iranians have always differentiated between ordinary Jews and a minority of Zionists," says Hassan Fatthi, the show's writer and director. "The murder of innocent Jews during World War II is just as despicable, sad and shocking as the killing of innocent Palestinian women and children by racist Zionist soldiers," he says.
According to the wsj: Iran's Jews -- along with Christians and Zorastrians -- are guaranteed equal rights in the country's constitution. Iran's Jews are guaranteed one member of parliament and are free to study Hebrew in school, pray in synagogues and shop at kosher supermarkets. Despite Mr. Ahmadinejad's statements, it isn't government policy to question the Holocaust, and the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, hasn't endorsed those views. On Iran's state-owned tv, Channel One milions of Iranians are tunning into the... more

A Jewish man says the Islamic revolution is a good thing that happened to Iran as people living in a religious environment become more religious.
Despite Iran's presidents views of Israel and the Holocaust (which was opposed by many Iranian politicians), Iran has the largest Jewish community outside of Israel who live peacefully side by side with Muslims who are free to practise Judaism. Despite what most people in the west think in Iran there are verticially no cases of Anti-semitic violence cases like the kind that are heard about in some parts of Europe.
Iran has its own Jewish member of its parliament. Iran even has one of the worlds 4 Jewish charity hospitals where Jews and Muslims both work together, which even the government has donated towards!

Its a award winning Iranian film "The Messiah" showing Jesus's (pbuh) life but it differs with the traditional Christian view... because here Jesus (pbuh) wasnt crucified! Yup... you heard right, he wasnt crucified but saved -based on Qur'an, 4:157!
The film has two endings... one with the traditional Christian viewpoint and the other with a interpretion from a Muslim perspective (which all Muslims may not agree with) to generate interfaith dialogue! Jesus (pbuh) is loved in Islam as a Messenger of God, Prophet of God and as the Messiah (annoited one) sent by Allah (God) but he isnt the son of God. However both faiths do agree and believe that Jesus (pbuh) will return... hopefully very soon!

Iranian Jews are not celebrating Israel's 60th anniversary. Why?...
because as a Iranian Jewish leader Morsadegh put it, it was in protest of Israel's responsibility for the "murder of totally innocent Palestinian civilians." and also said Israel's policies toward Palestinians, particularly Gazans, demonstrated "anti-human behavior ... they kill innocent people."
Iran has the largest Jewish community in the M.E. outside of Israel where relations between Muslims and Jews is generally peaceful despite what most in the West think and it even has a Jewish member in the Iranian parliament! Iran even has its own Jewish charity hospital where Muslims and Jews work together.
The Jewish leader then went on to say that Jews enjoy freedom of religion in Iran as demonstrated in Austraila's SBS current affairs show "Dateline" on 'The Jews of Iran'

Tuesday, Defense Secretary Robert Gates sent a second aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf to “remind” Iran the US is ready to strike if sufficiently provoked.
"What the Iranians are doing is killing American servicemen and women inside Iraq," said Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. Gates also insisted that Iran continues to back the Taliban.
The recent weeks have seen an increase in criticism toward Iran’s alleged support of the Taliban and efforts to supply militants in Iraq. Military commanders in Baghdad are expected to roll out evidence of that support soon - including date stamps on newly found weapons caches showing that recently made Iranian weapons are flowing into Iraq at a steadily increasing rate.
Gates’ comments contrasted with those from Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who said last week that he had not seen any new signs of Iranian support for the Taliban.
Later this week Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is expected to confront the Iranians with evidence of their meddling and demand a halt. If that doesn't produce results, the State Department has begun drafting an ultimatum that would tell the Iranians to knock it off - or else.
