In one of the greatest team-ups in internet history, video game icons Solid Snake and Ghost were brought together in an epic trilogy known as Modern War Gear Solid. The series was created by a group called the Beat Down Boogie, guerrilla-style filmmakers that had rejected the mainstream ways of the film industry to stay true to themselves and their fans.
Filming is currently under way for the third and final installment in the MWGS series. We got a chance to sit down with Director Micah Moore and Technical Director Rick Burnett, to talk about the the making of the series and the upcoming final film.

GameTrailers.com user movie of the week. AkiraWing takes action figure warefare to a whole new level. The stealth tactics of Solid Snake clashes with the flashy combat of the Power Rangers.
--------------------------------------
Solid Snake accepts his latest assignment which has him training the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers in how to sneak and infiltrate Lord Zedd's fortress. It is being guarded by Vulcan Raven and unfortunately their current Zords are unequipped to handle anything besides stealth and cunning, which the Rangers are not entirely adept at.GameTrailers.com user movie of the week. Hey g1s, by now I'm sure you've all seen Metal Gear Ben, right? Well, as the top agent of espionage here at ScrewAttack, I have a mission for you. The first episode has had an enormously positive response from viewers, and I thank all of you for supporting the show. However, there are still some people around the globe that haven't witnessed this awesome new series featuring not only the ScrewAttack crew, but the acting, artistic, and musical talents of numerous g1s! I need your assistance in spreading the good word of MGB around the net. The following assignment shouldn't take more than a minute or two to perform.
Your mission, if you choose to accept, is to visit these three sites and vote/favorite the episode. Your assigned locations are on DIGG, REDDIT, and STUMBLEUPON. The show pages are already assembled and the previous links will direct you straight to them in seconds. If each of these pages gets enough votes it will draw thousands more viewers to see what all of us have accomplished with the first episode as well as the upcoming episodes featuring even MORE of each g1's excellent work! Who knows, maybe the next episode will have YOUR name in the credits? See my previous blog for details on how to submit work.
Your reward for completing this assignment will be one digital cookie.
Whoops, looks like I've already eaten a bit of it. Hurry! Complete your mission before I eat all of your cookie!Hey g1s, by now I'm sure you've all seen Metal Gear Ben, right? Well, as the... more

Square Enix doesn't only make Final Fantasy games. It also makes Dragon Quest games. But besides that, it also makes figures. Fancy figures.
The company's Play Arts line has made figures for Square Enix games like Final Fantasy XIII. It has been expanding to branch out as not simply Square Enix's in-house figure maker, but a figure maker ready to compete with the country's top figure manufacturers.
The Snake figure will be released this June in Japan. The boss figures will be released later this summer.

Hideo Kojima is to video games what Stanley Kubrick is to movies. Both are visionaries who had treated their respect project as a work of art, they were visionaries that made an impact on their media, their style has strongly reflected their auteurism, and failure is something that is almost rare to nonexistent in their portfolio.Hideo Kojima is to video games what Stanley Kubrick is to movies. Are today's game studios sacrificing quality for the sake of making a quick(er) buck from the gaming public? Ultimately, who is responsible for the perceived overall drop in creativity and quality which is found in some of today's gaming titles? With the latest installment in the From the Editors' Desks series, Total Gaming Network Writer Dairuka Sutain tackles these two major issues (The first two paragraphs follow):
"I remember the days when hope ruled the video game world. The days when Resident Evil, SaGa Frontier, Tactics Ogre, Valkyrie Profile and Xenogears were all coming out within a few years span. Before that, it was F-Zero, Star Fox, Chrono Trigger, Shining Force… The 90’s were truly a golden age of video games where innovation ruled. It was also during this time when the weak and unoriginal turds disappeared into obscurity, serving as reminders that it took originality to succeed. Were I to look to the Personal Computer for similar support, I found genre defining games such as Warcraft, Diablo, Fallout, Half-life, Counter-Strike, Thief, Total Annihilation, and Daggerfall.
"Then the new millennium came, and something changed… With only a select few exceptions that have become classics as a result of their wonderment, it seems the gaming industry has spiraled out of control in the wake its own exponential growth rates. It seems we’ve all lost sight of what truly made video gaming so wonderful: Discovery. Industry leaders following in the footsteps of Mario and Sonic all wanted to create their own flagship series without offering anything genuinely new about that series beyond the artwork and plot. This past decade of console offerings gave us nothing more than storybooks with very little amusement attached. If this wasn’t bad enough, it seems as if every major gaming company just had to have their own piece of a truly successful franchise, making knock-offs faster than faux-gucci salesmen in the streets of New York City."
