With 70 years of super-hero comics behind us, there have been a lot of super-powers on the printed page -- so many, in fact, that even the most dedicated comics reader can occasionally have a hard time keeping them straight.
That's why ComicsAlliance senior writer Chris Sims took it upon himself to finally get things organized with The Periodic Table of Super-Powers, an arranged listing of 84 common (and decidedly uncommon) characteristics of your favorite super-heroes!
With this table, you can easily represent your favorite super-heroes' power-sets in simple, not-at-all-far-too-complex-to-be-useful formulas!
For instance: Superman comes out as: OAFSISpVxVhSn
Wolverine can be represented as XWxHSn
Poison Ivy is, of course, Iv
And Legion of Super-Heroes wannabe Arm-Fall-Off Boy is simply Af.

Ruslan Chagaev and Nikolay Valuev will finally get a chance to settle their score this Saturday in Helsinki, Finland.
In his professional boxing career Valuev has been defeated only once, by Ruslan Chagaev in April 2007, the very man he will face on Saturday. Going into the fight, Valuev had a professional ring record of 47 wins and no losses – which no heavyweight champion has repeated since the Rocky Marciano times. Back in 2007 Valuev lost in a close 12-round fight. However, after the bout, everyone admitted that Chagaev was the better of the two.
The Uzbek’s speed proved to be a real challenge for the Russian Giant, who not only failed to find the range but also failed to find Chagaev with many power shots.Ruslan Chagaev and Nikolay Valuev will finally get a chance to settle their score this... more

Sporting 2-5 Barcelona (UEFA Champions League) Video Highlights.Watch Sporting 2-5 Barcelona Goals & Highlights FREE Online at goal.hitw.info
This was in essence a meaningless contest as the top two had already qualified after match-day four. Pep Guardiola while making changes still fielded a strong starting eleven with intent to take top spot in the section, and supposedly an easier fixture in the Super Sixteen Round. He shuffled his front three once more, with Messi returning from injury to slot in alongside Thierry Henry and Eidur Gudjohnsen.
Sporting too were almost at full strength, with the much-coveted Portuguese Joao Moutinho slotting in behind Liedson, who had begin to find scoring form again after a slow start to the season domestically. They had performed extremely well to beat Shakhtar Donetsk home and away to secure their place in the next round, but were themselves looking to grab an unlikely top spot.
But it was the Blaugrana who started with intent, and they stormed into a two-goal lead before their hosts had known what hit them. On fourteen minutes Messi was at his beguiling best on the wing, snaking down the by line to cut back to Thierry Henry, who had the simplest of tasks to slide the ball into the empty net. It was his first Champions League goal of the season, and his fifth of the campaign.
Moments later it was two; a high cross to the back post somewhat fortunately struck Gudjohnsen on the side of the head, and the ball bounced straight into the path of a grateful Pique, who prodded the ball home to give the visitors a comfortable advantage.
Barcelona clearly had Sunday’s below-par display against Getafe, where they could only manage a 1-1 draw, on their minds as they set to work on tying up the match as efficiently as possible. They maintained possession extremely well and Lisbon were chasing shadows for long spells of the half. The Catalans early double salvo had clinically killed the match as a contest.
Second Half Goal Glut
After the break, Sporting had no escape from a purposeful and confident Barcelona. The game was over, if it wasn’t already, in the 50th minute when Messi slid home the third past a demoralised Patricio to give the diminutive Argentine the goal his play deserved.
Guardiola immediately withdrew his talisman to preserve him for Barca’s tough run of Christmas fixtures, with Pedro his replacement, and on his arrival he fed another young protégé, who approached the edge of the box before blasting just over.
Sporting to their credit pulled one back on 65 minutes. Marquez was wrongly adjudged to have handled the ball at the edge of the area, but Miguel Veloso showed no mercy and swerved a powerful free-kick past the slightly static Victor Valdes. Sporting had a lifeline.
Incredibly, after not having a sniff of an opportunity for more than an hour, Sporting grabbed a second goal a minute later through their striker Liedson. Marquez attempted a disastrous return header to Valdes and the Brazilian accepted the chance with aplomb.
All of a sudden, what should have been a procession to victory for the Spaniards was now decidedly nervy.
However, as bizarre a passage of play as you’ll find this evening continued when Lisbon defender Caniera the ball over his own goalkeeper in calamitous fashion to restore Barcelona’s cushion.
Then Rui Patricio, who had already watched the ball fly past him four times, blocked a run from Bojan inside the eighteen-yard box and the referee ordered him to compound his misery on a terrible evening for the goalkeeper. Bojan slotted the ball- just – past sub keeper Tiago to make the score an incredible 5-2 to the Blaugrana.

Villareal 0-0 Manchester Utd (UEFA Champions League) Video Highlights. Watch Villareal 0-0 Manchester Utd 25.11.2008 Highlights FREE Online at goal.hitw.info
With both these sides well out in front in group E, all the talk surrounding this encounter was whether they may be content to see the contest out to a stalemate and confirm the point necessary to confirm qualification for both.
Pellegrini fielded a reasonably strong outfit, opting to use Rossi as a lone frontman and employ Pires and Cazorla to furrow for opportunities around him. United meanwhile were missing Berbatov, Vidic and Van Der Sar but such is their strength in depth The Villarreal defence had to face the prodigious talent of messrs Rooney and Ronaldo.
Despite the attacking talent of show, there was precious little attacking play at either end of the pitch. Rooney had a goal wrongly disallowed within the first five minutes, while Santi Cazorla stung the hands of stand-in goalkeeper Kuszczak with a right-foot strike from the edge of the area. But truthfully, that was the summation of the goalmouth action as the match meandered as aimlessly as the efforts on target.
While the passing play in the middle of the pitch was pretty and patient, given the circumstances, there was precious little substance to match the undoubtedly stylish patterns of play.
Both sides are extremely adept at withholding possession, biding their time before striking with a defence-splitting pass. Make no mistake – these are two supremely well-drilled outfits, who give little away, and one nullified the other to such an extent that there was barely a shot of note in the opening forty minutes.
As half-time beckoned, Ronaldo took it upon himself to inject some interest into this desperately dull encounter. He strode onto a Rooney lay-off at the edge of the box and unleashed a wonderful drive towards goal. Diego Lopez however was equal to it and pushed the ball onto the underside of the bar. It was far and away the most exciting altercation of the match to this point.
The Portuguese then skipped a long-range free-kick towards the corner but this one was far easier to deal with for the impressive Spanish stopper, and he turned it behind comfortably behind.
But that flurry of action from the Ballon D’Or-elect aside, it was a half distinctly lacking in a competitive edge. Yes, even the premier football competition in the world can produce halves of football as poor as this.
Fortunately for those in attendance the game opened up slightly, and Man United appeared to stake a claim for top spot in the section. Fletcher dragged a shot just wide before Rooney powered a volley on the turn that Diego Lopez beat away to safety.
At the other end, Cazorla whipped in a tantalising cross that agonisingly evaded both Rossi and Capdevilla. While not exactly Earth-shattering, it was still a marked improvement on the first period.
The closest we came to a goal in the closing stages was when a Rooney cross was headed out from underneath his own crossbar by Capdevilla.
But the same player blotted his copybook by being red-carded moments later for a knee-high challenge on Ronaldo, the winger was on the sprint. There was a clear element of intent in the tackle, and it was a nasty incident in what proved overall to be an unpleasant spectacle.
In the end, the cynics were right. Manchester Untied and Villarreal progress, without really breaking sweat.Villareal 0-0 Manchester Utd (UEFA Champions League) Video Highlights. Watch Villareal... more

A 14-year-old schoolgirl who weighs 20st is aiming for glory at the Sumo world championships.
Samantha-Jane Stacey, is Australia's strongest medal hope at the world championships in Estonia next month. She began Sumo training two years ago after previous experience of wrestling and will compete in the junior women's heavyweight division.
A diet of Weetabix and lasagne is credited with helping her maintain the sturdy frame required for the sport. However she dismissed suggestions that Sumo is all about bulk. "I love it because it's a physical, body-contact sport but you've also got to use your brain and have mental tactics." she said. "It's a perfect sport for girls because you have to think on your feet." She added; "I am so proud to represent my country and I want to keep doing it."
Katrina Watts, president of the Australian Sumo Federation, told goldcoast.com in Australia: "The sport has great appeal because it's full body contact but you don't punish your opponent. Instead you need balance, flexibility and body strength and that has attracted new converts from judo, wrestling and gymnastics."A 14-year-old schoolgirl who weighs 20st is aiming for glory at the Sumo world... more
