"'You can eat it?' Yes, you can eat it," explains 18-year-old Zimbabwean refugee and chef Kennedy Gondo.
An estimated 4,000 Zimbabweans cross into South Africa every day, as it becomes more and more difficult to find jobs on their home turf. When they arrive on the other side, broke and hungry, they rely on the scant resources they have to accomplish what they've come to do: make a living. Watch how this young braai-master carves out an entrepreneurial niche for himself in Musina, South Africa."'You can eat it?' Yes, you can eat it," explains 18-year-old Zimbabwean refugee and... more

In homage to the lord of dance, the late Patrick Swayze, this week's Brand Spanking New is a celebration of dancing like no one's watching!
We have films about some hip hop crazed grannies, a wicked street dancer who now represents Nike, but was previously laughed off a dance reality show for being too fat. As a sexy last dance number we also go to Paris to find out if the tecktonik dance craze sweeping the nation will be coming across the water to the UK anytime soon...

Come ghost busting with Mat Laroche in this week's paranormal spooky special episode of Brand Spanking New, the show with all the best short docs showing on Current TV.
We get a little more information that perhaps we'd like in a film about two young Yanks who work with dead bodies every day, meet the real exorcists who specialise in getting rid of your evil demons, and finally go to a church in London where miraculous healings are said to be taking place, curing it's congregation of cancer, AIDs and being fat...hmmm.Come ghost busting with Mat Laroche in this week's paranormal spooky special episode... more

National Park Service Rangers are HOT! They're really smart and helpful too. First I met Ranger Rick. We went hiking and he took me to some beautiful waterfalls. But then I met Ranger Steve, and he was even hotter than Ranger Rick. This was at Mount Rainier National Park. So many National Parks, so many rangers, so little time. I love the great outdoors.National Park Service Rangers are HOT! They're really smart and helpful too. First I... more

Since the announcement of the controversial President of Iran's surprise re-election, supporters of rival candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi have taken to the street amidst suspicions of voter fraud.
In response the hardline elements within the government have conscripted security forces to stamp out the protests.
The main misgivings stem from how Ahmadinejad seemed, on the basis of the results at least, to have won in areas that were mostly pro-oppostion. Places like Tehran where he somehow managed to win by over 50%. He is deeply disliked in the big cities and has never won big there. So add this with him beating his opposition in their own provinces?
Goes without saying that to even the casual observer, things look a bit dodge.
Juan Cole gives a breakdown on his blog on the key points of contention. But although these points don't necessarily mean that Ahmadinejad stole the election, you decide for yourself.
Growing up in a multi-cultural city can mind mess your sense of self. As a Londoner of Asian descent, how do I go about defining myself when living in a mongrel city mixing within swathes of contrasting cultures and having a lucid sense of where or what is ‘home’.
Many people define identity by how they are perceived or then seek a surrogate source of belonging such as religion. The box remains un-ticked...Growing up in a multi-cultural city can mind mess your sense of self. As a Londoner of... more
I looove this video- funny, well-done, the works. Originally submitted to Current in March of 2008:
Ebay-certified "professors" teach people how best to buy and sell items on Ebay. VC2 producer Rachael Joy will take lessons from the Ebay "guru" in LA and attempt to re-sell a vintage purse that once failed to get even a single bid when she put it up previously on Ebay. We'll also hear stories from the guru's former students, as they regale us with the odd and quirky items they've been able to acquire and get rid of on Ebay.I looove this video- funny, well-done, the works. Looking for your cannabis medicine? Need to find a doctor? Have legal issues? Cannabis Apps has cultivated an iPhone application that allows you to quickly locate the nearest medical cannabis collectives, cooperatives, doctors, clinics, attorneys, organizations, and other patient services in states that have passed medical marijuana (cannabis) legislation. Information is continuously updated and supplied by iMedicalCannabis.org and the Patient ID Center. For those states without medical cannabis laws, you can locate the nearest NORML Chapter to get active and take action.
AJNAG.com will donate $.50 cents for every “Cannabis” purchase to a cannabis non-profit reform fund, which will be setup once the application reaches 1000 subscriptions. You can read any HaleAmano bio’s on any search engine, but I know the story.
My name is Vincent Collins and I am here on Current as Warpt®TV and Ride4Rights.
HaleAmano is group that has given it their all to spread their music to the people by word of mouth. I am bringing to Current a music story that is as exciting in the music industry as American Idol® or America’s Got Talent®.
This is a band that has a Vegas Show, we all live there, without the million-dollar contract. This is an unsigned band that as of 7/09 has a “UNFINISHED DEMO - “Love Me For Me” on MySpace® getting almost 30,000 plays! Unheard of! The 2nd song,” Truly Do” 22,000. The 3rd song ”JAMMALICIOUZ” 13,600. The 4th song, “Island People” 13,300. The 5th “Temptationz“ 12,700. Oh well the 6th “Paradise Island” is only at 10,000.
YOUR KIDDING ME!?! THE LOWEST SONG HAS 10,000 PLAYS! UNSIGNED?? TRUE!
HaleAmano will show all of you here watching Current, the rise of a band from Las Vegas.
My bio for them is that they started on a Sunday morning when Jahsay and Iz came in to the rehearsal studios a friend and I had in Las Vegas. The first day I will never forget. They were auditioning different people for keys, bass, backing vocals and they played for over 9 hours without playing the same song twice.
Jahsay had the been doing some solo stuff with a few people here and there as HaleAmano, but it was not until he meet Iz and that magic at the studios happened.
The first show was at a hole on the east side of Vegas, it was almost Anvil® style trying to get paid.
The second gig was to have the establishment pay for promo and flyers; we get paid a percent of the night. Three, four weeks in, no promo and crickets. Anyone in a band knows that one.
They band has now played Acoustic Sets at The House of Blues® in Las Vegas, and to date are the only band to create a dance floor and to be called back out to set up for an encore. I know it is time for these guys to be the next movers and shakers. Just looking for the bus to get out there.
I do not know to many bands getting 172,000 profile views and 110,000 plays without someone noticing. So this is why I am excited to bring this music story to Current!
Thank YOU Current! You can read any HaleAmano bio’s on any search engine, but I know the story.

This week's Brand Spanking New has more hot short films than some grannies have teeth!
We've got an exclusive film from Current TV's upcoming 'Still Wasted' season about drugs and alcohol, featuring some people who've been permanently scarred, emotionally and physically after a night out turned nasty. We've also got glimpses of the sublimely ridiculous arty farty furniture designs of a US hip-ster, a beat boxing flutist, verbal pearls from top philosopher John Gray on the meaning of life, and if that doesn't interest you, we've got a DO's and DONT's guide to having casual sex!
