Nope, despite what Iowa Attorney General (AG) Tom Miller promised in this video, we're not seeing any criminal prosecutions of these thieves. But at least these state AGs are more likely to force some real reforms into the foreclosure process:
The 50 state attorneys general probing U.S. foreclosure practices will first settle with the five largest loan servicers, including Bank of America Corp. and JPMorgan Chase & Co., Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller said.
No settlements have been reached yet, Miller said in a telephone interview today. The other three are Citigroup Inc., Wells Fargo & Co. and Ally Financial Inc., said Miller, the leader of the 50-state investigation. The five have 59 percent of the market, Miller said.
“What we’re looking at is five separate agreements with the five largest servicers,” Miller said. “We’re still a ways away” from reaching agreements, he said. “We’re working very hard to figure out what should be in the settlement.”
All 50 U.S. states are investigating whether banks and loan servicers used false documents and signatures to justify hundreds of thousands of foreclosures. The probe, announced Oct. 13, came after JPMorgan and Ally Financial’s GMAC mortgage unit said they would stop repossessions in 23 states where courts supervise home seizures, and Bank of America, the largest U.S. lender, froze foreclosures nationwide.
[...] The group isn’t pursuing a criminal investigation, Miller said. “Our focus is to reform the servicing process and that’s inherently civil, not criminal,” he said.
In an interview last week, Miller said the group might consider matters including whether servicers are charging borrowers appropriate fees.
“We hear stories far too often of it taking months before servicers get back to people, or they lose documents and that they don’t modify a loan when it makes sense,” Miller said last week.
The 50-state group “offers one of the most promising avenues to increasing loan modification and servicer accountability that we have seen so far,” said Paul Leonard, California director for the nonprofit Center for Responsible Lending in Durham, North Carolina.
He said the group would act more independently than Congress or federal regulators because of the influence of industry lobbyists in Washington.

Assailing out-of-touch corporate pay and perks, President Barack Obama on Wednesday slammed a salary cap on top executives from companies that want bailouts — but it's a limit that could end up thinning the wallets of only a small number of people.
Obama's action comes as many Americans, while hanging on for economic life, have watched Wall Street high-flyers receive big-dollar bonuses even as their firms draw public help for survival. The outcry has grown with each report of a bailed-out company that plans to buy a jet or hold a Las Vegas retreat.

The civil rights of people experiencing homelessness are continually violated, whether it be by endangering their right to vote, by hate crimes committed against them, by denying children in homeless situations an equal right to education, and even by unjust laws making it illegal to be homeless. NCH is concerned about this illegal disenfranchisement of people experiencing homelessness, and the Civil Rights Project exists to protect the civil rights of people in homeless situations.

Who We Are
By Gaye Reyes
This is to introduce you to a Village called Dignity Village, Inc. We are a formally mobile Tent City founded by homeless people for those in the homeless community that were sick and tired of living on the streets ,under bushes and in doorways. Dignity Village has now grown out of the “tent city” mode and has become a true Village.
We have set up our own administrative and legislative branch of government and are working on our judicial. At this time the administrative (village council) is trying to do both judicial as well as administrative.
The Administrative branch of Dignity Village, Inc. is comprised of a council and (Board of Directors). Chairperson is Timothy McCarthy , Vice Chairperson Laura Brown , Secretary Ross Bennett , Treasurer Alan Rocheleau the remainder of the village council are Bob , Ken , Ivan , Dean , and Gaye Reyes . The legislative body is the membership of Dignity Village, Inc. . No law or rule is passed or contract signed without going to the membership for approval.
The Village has moved away from an all “tent city” to small houses built primarily by the villagers with the help of some of our much loved supporters from the wider community. Chrysler Chelle (our building coordinator) and her building crew have done a remarkable job. Ken, Travis, Big Al, Big Red, Shorty, Timothy and many others have worked to that end. For those of us that could not build because of physical disabilities we set up a work exchange program. If Chelle and her crew are working on a house then the person that the house is designated for will pull her security duty or the security of one of her crew. Not only does this help to get the building done but, allows the person the building is for to feel they are participating, and to that end gives them pride of place. In other words, “Dignity”, self-respect, and the knowledge they can accomplish good things for themselves without a hand out.

Watch Bear Stearns' EMC Mortgage lie in this video. EMC later testified during a 2004 trial that Wright was never in default and also testified they did not own Mr. Wright's note.
While still on the witness stand, EMC was asked: So you saw Bank of America's errors, but rather than correct the mistakes, you just decided to steal Mr. Wright's home and equity didn't you?" EMC answered: "Yes."
Within moments, the judge shut down the trial and recused herself. The trial was never finished.
