After the earlier we read that the bus in Oslo will use fuel from human waste, this time can also be used for private cars, precisely in the VW Beetle. GENeco, a company that processes waste results in Bristol, England have proved that human waste can also be useful, other than cow manure, of course. They have succeeded in modifying a VW Beetle car (called Bio Bug) that can use methane fuel derived from human feces. Bio Bug requires only human waste from 70 homes to be able to walk as far as +/- 16 000 km, quite right? Bio Bugs can also be regarded as the hybrid car because in addition to human sewage, this car could run as usual by using the fuel. I just read about these guys on their web page. I saw this item a couple weeks ago, but never took the time to learn the story behind it. The founders of this company recently graduated from UW Madison and are simply passionate about spreading information about the green energy iniative. They have come up with a unique way to spread awareness by actually providing a product to the individuals that offset the energy used by their computer. And the best part is, the product is environmentally friendly as well! They have covered all their bases with this one. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you guys think! The biggest working sanitary landfill in the United States, located right outside Los Angeles, is so much more than a garbage dump: it is an environmentally-safe recycling haven where even unrecyclable waste can be turned into clean bioenergy fuels and lots and lots of power (it is one of the largest power generators in the state of California).
Landfills are the nation's second largest source of manmade methane pollution. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas and a contributor to the smog air pollution.
While landfills such as Puente Hills in Los Angeles are realizing the economic benefits of capturing and utilizing the energy from methane, there are still hundreds of landfills across the nation missing this critical opportunity.

Honda Announces First FCX Clarity Customers and World’s First Fuel Cell Vehicle Dealership Network as Clarity Production Begins in Japan
Breakthrough zero emissions vehicle to be delivered in July
American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced five of the first customers for its advanced new FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicle and also provided details of the world’s first fuel cell vehicle dealership network in the United States. The announcements were made during a ceremony for the start of FCX Clarity production at the world’s first dedicated fuel cell vehicle manufacturing facility in Japan.

First-ever Fuel Cell Vehicle Dealership Network
Reinforcing its commitment to further advance Honda fuel cell technology, American Honda announced that three Southern California dealerships will comprise the world’s first fuel cell automobile dealership network. Power Honda Costa Mesa, Honda of Santa Monica and Scott Robinson Honda are each located in close proximity to hydrogen refueling stations and will be well-positioned to support Honda’s growing base of FCX Clarity customers.
American Honda is working with its dealer partners to implement processes for fuel cell vehicle lease, delivery and service support for the duration of their leases. Establishing a dedicated sales network and service infrastructure provides customers with the best balance of convenience and the highest quality of service. When the FCX Clarity requires periodic maintenance, customers will simply schedule a visit with their local FCX Clarity dealer.
American Honda will perform all required work at its specialized fuel cell service facility in the greater Los Angeles area. Upon completion of the work, the dealer will return the vehicle to the customer.
