This show reminded me why people start going to shows in the first place. Its not about being seen, getting new material for their blog, expanding their party pics website, or getting free drinks from Mr. Been-Workin-Here-Too-Long, or having a chip on your shoulder. Its about releasing all the bullshit that piles up during the week, and Matt and Kim can move a crowd like no other. This show reminded me why people start going to shows in the first place. Matt and Kim's shows inspire people with their energetic and 'I'm so fuckin' happy OMG' presence on stage. The thing about Matt and Kim is they interact with the crowd like they've known them forever, when you see their shows its like you showed up at your friend's house party they happened to be playing. Here they perform "Grand" at Walter's on Washington in Houston, TX on the Fyeah Tour.

As the opening keys of 'Silver Tiles' started, the crowd clapping drowning out Kim's drums, the room developed into this bouncing mass of color, not a still soul in the building. The chorus 'and all our hopes, and all our friends' has always brought something out of people besides just the need to sing a long at a loud volume. Matt finished the last verse crowdsurfing on the palms of their fans and friends. He returned to stage, they ended the song, and the night was over. Best show ever.As the opening keys of 'Silver Tiles' started, the crowd clapping drowning... more
