Music plays in the hearts and souls of all of us. This post is about expressing yourself musically while not judging others for their taste. Really funny piece because One of 365 discusses different musical genres in a humorous way. She also discusses different bands from Bonobo and Unkle to Death Cab for Cutie to The Sugababes, and different types of music cultures so there is something for every music lover. To sum it, "Hey You Indie Bastards, Stop Judging My Rihanna and I'll Stop Making Fun Of Your Skinny Jeans!"

When they announced Celine Dion would be performing at the Olympics Opening Ceremony in Beijing on Friday, you could hear a collective groan, followed by synchronized eye rolls. Sure, we know she has a great voice and always gives 110%. It's her taste level that we question. And at 40, I have to say my mother (who is a grandmother) is more edgy (and has better dance moves). Let's go back to 2002 at the VH1 Divas Las Vegas concert where she performed a cover of AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long (with Anastasia). Total Guitar magazine voted it the worst cover in history with her OTT performance which included awkward rock kicks, duck walks across the stage, and painful air guitar solos. We didn't think it could get much worse than this... until we saw fellow Canadian cheeseball, Shania Twain the same song two years later in 2004. What's with these Canadians? (I can say that. I'm Canadian). Her flaccid rendition gave us goose bumps (for all the wrong reasons). Maybe that wind machine knocked the wind out of her or maybe it was her 80's-inspired belt . I never thought I'd say it but I think I prefer Celine's version. What do you think? Whatever the case, we will be on the sofa ready-to-cringe when she takes the stage. It’s no secret that Shania Twain has has her heart ripped out and stomped on…but Shania decided to blog about it to all her fans.
To my beloved fans:
As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life. I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.
I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.
I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.
Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart.
Love,
Shania
