Sexy Beast is a 2000 British crime flick, though that is a very simple classification for this movie. Really it's two stories combined, one of a man's peaceful existence being shattered by a deranged mad man, and a follow up heist story which includes a bit of a mystery. This mash up of genres works great for this particular story, and it's done well.
This is director Jonathan Glazer's first film after being a successful commercial and music video director (most notably, he did the videos for Radiohead's "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" and Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity" (remember that one? With the moving floors? In 1996 that stuff was mindblowing). Glazer comes roaring through the front door with guns ablazing, too, as Sexy Beast is a blast of style and a couple of crazy performances.
