Back in 2003. Somewhere in Paris, Gauthier meets Bertrand to buy used music gear from him. They listen to each other’s early work and decide to make music together. As their friendship grows, the quality of their experiments increases too. Now in 2007, they’re producing new material under the name “Luck on Strike“. Their brand is their own blend of electro with grunge power. No static creation process, no boundaries, that’s what you can expect from two self-taught artists. Guitars sounds like synths and synths screams like guitars.
Their influences are broader than electronic music : pop, 70’s rock, disco for Gauthier, hip-hop, funk, music scores for Bertrand. But Luck on Strike is also a live act : from electro mash-up to live play, they transmit raw energy to audience.
Luck on Strike just released a remix of Jackson & his computer band, you can get it here :

A project envisaged and curated by Jean-François Sanz (head of cultural projects agnès b.)
Between the late 70s and mid-80s in France, a prolific and chaotic music scene that combined the energy of rock-n-roll, punk nihilism and electronic experimentation.
A kind of hope and frenzied vitality could also be detected during these years. A breed
of modernist utopia, which was sometimes wilfully ironic, fed them both. A whole segment of, they were nonetheless resistant to the post-Hippie utopias of the previous generation. In search of an identity, they recognised themselves in the dark lyrics, the
cold synthetic music and the laid-back attitude of the new groups hatching all over the country, as much in the provinces as in Paris.
With the benefit of thirty years’ hindsight, the “Mödern Young People” project reactivates this post-punk/novo diskö/French new & cold wave scene, through an exhibition, a book, an audio compilation, and a documentary film. One of the project’s ambitions is to highlight a cross-section of the specific creative diversity of this scene. It does so by engaging with the music produced by this scene, but also with the aesthetics and the attitudes.

A new musical scene emerge... Called indifferently Neo-Disco, Cosmic Disco, or Space Disco, a new style is raising from clubs in New York, London, Paris, LA or Tokyo.
Far from the somehow dusty sound of the 70's, the NuDisco scene reinvest the disco imagery, somewhere between abstract, electronic, and dance music...more "djable" as some of the bproducers say. Giorgio Moroder is not so far.
Discover the NuDisco extended family. On top of new and original “NuDisco” productions, the scene integrates the many processes of Re-Editing. The idea behind the Re-Edit is to take an obscure and forgotten track (Disco, Funk, Psychedelic Rock, Early Electro) and reshape it, rearrange it, play with it, in other words: rebuild it entierly to make it sound like 2008.
The ArtPack met five DJs/Producers from around the world, five emblematic figures from this new musical trend: Cosmo Vitelli, Mock & Toof, Aeroplane, Marco Dos Santos, Runaway...

Soundtrack :
Runaway – Shadows (Wurst Edit)
Mock & Toof – Beat Up (Tiny Sticks)
Runaway – Ain’t Affraid To Beg (Wurst Edit)

MAC Creteil (Museum of Contemporary Arts) host SUPER #3, an event
promoting artistic encounters between independant labels from
different universes.
Super is an event that brings together poetic and melodic
independent explorers
who have emerged from the contemporary international art scene.
Initiating exchanges between visual artists and musicians, Super
exclusively presents their original creations in an evening of
"visual music" performances. Super's artistic ambition is to
stage a joyful and out of the ordinary demonstration of the
relationship between music and image with high quality
programming.
After Records Makers in 2006, Tigersushi in 2007, it was time
for NY trendiest labelDFA to present their artists; the public
thus discovered the latest musical opus of Planningtorock
(soon to be signed on DFA!) staged by the Berlin duo
Steffi&Steffi.
Two other original scenographic sets represented the
collaborations between musician Gavin Russom, and for
the first time in France, Assume Vivid Astro Focus,
as well as the group Prinzhorn Dance school with
visual art duo My Bowling Club.
The Parisian collective Mort aux Jeunes
(Death To The Young), provided carnavalesque
interludes.

The Art Pack - M. Pinoncelli et l'urinoir de M. Duchamp
envoyé par FatCat_Films
Second part of a documentary on Pierre Pinoncelli, artist-performer,
one of a few, in France, to perform happenings. The most widely
reported by the media was his blow with a hammer on « Fountain »,
the well-known urinal by Marcel Duchamp. It triggered a stream of
legal consequences brought upon him by the Museum of
Modern Art Georges Pompidou.
