Ah the joys of living in Small Town America.
Not the cool, totally-under-water parts of Small Town America, mind you. Just the nearby-to-totally-under-water parts where everything is still soaked and mildewy, but nobody gets to camp out in sports stadiums.
I would *totally* camp out at Miller Park if it came to that. I'm just sayin'...
Whatever that just was aside, my heart absolutely goes out to the people who lost their homes and their livelihoods to the flooding in Central Wisconsin. None of us saw this coming, there's nothing you could've done to stop it, and I'm so sorry that now you're stuck dealing with all this. We've got your backs, CenWi.

The Iowa Department of Transportation image gallery is a chilling display of how horrible the destruction is in the state. Pictured here is Interstate I-80 which is currently closed in several spots. River levels are still rising and thousands lose their homes. Even more are without power and water.
There are no deaths reported from the floods which is simply amazing considering the wrath of destruction.
In Iowa City, the University of Iowa is suffering significantly. Several dormatories are under water the library evacuated it's rare collection. The internationally famous art museum is flooded, as is the student union, and so on.
Local organizations are working hard to keep people fed in the city since it is virtually cut off from the rest of the state.
River levels are not supposed to crest until possibly Wednesday. Officials are calling this a 500 year flood. The results of which are unpredictable and historically unprecedented.

Breaking all records, including the flood of 1993, ladies and gentlemen welcome the flood of 2008! They call it the 500 year flood. Iowa City, home of the University of Iowa, is about to be submerged. Manditory evacuations are ordered in parts of Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and other Iowa towns. Thousands across the state and throughout the Midwest are losing their homes. A tornado just killed 4 people at a boyscout camp in western Iowa and injured 40.
