Lilly Aramburo vanished more than 15 months ago. This is the first article about her published in the independent newspaper, The Miami New Times. The article appropriately titled "Missing Peace" was written by Francisco Alvarado. I must say, he did a pretty thorough job. Much more thorough than Miami Dade Police! (Thanks Frank!!)
He accomplished the seemingly impossible...he tracked down Christen Pacheco and got his side of the story. He interviewed Kelly Starling and a neighbor of Christen's who knew them and happened to talk to Lilly just before she vanished. I can't help but wonder, how many resources did it take? Was it costly? Did it take that much time and trouble?
According to the article, "police inaction is one reason she hasn't been found." Amen to that! Even Christen Pacheco admits he's spoken to a detective only once by phone since the initial report. Kelly Starling says she's tried contacting the detective several times but he's never returned the calls. She says "no one has been trying to do anything. I've been wanting to talk to the detective all this time."
Captain Janna Bollinger-Heller from the Miami Dade County Police domestic crimes bureau was interviewed. She says Lilly's case "has been a high priority." "We have followed up on every lead."
Are you outraged? This could be your child or relative! They believe they have treated Lilly's case with priority? If speaking with the last person to see her alive once by phone is priority, then I'd hate to even think about the cases that have not been a high priority.
If what Captain Bollinger-Heller says is true and there are only 4 detectives in Miami Dade for the 5000 reported cases of missing people, then how on earth are they supposed to be found?
I have a solution. Why don't they classify Lilly's case and others that qualify as homicides? They obviously have more detectives in Homicide. Besides, they have much more training and are better prepared to deal with these kinds of investigations.
Make sure to read all 5 pages! After you read it, let us know what you think. Leave a comment on the New Times Article. Click on the bottom left link that says write your comment.

Lilly's family and friends urge the South Florida Community to take a good look at her picture. If you know Lilly or any of the key players involved, including a guy who goes by the name "EJ" - PLEASE COME FORWARD!! This EJ was also there but has since disappeared, unwilling to cooperate. Keep in mind, Lilly has a son who deserves to know the TRUTH.
If you think you know something, anything can be a clue that leads us to find Lilly - please contact us right now. There are numerous ways to submit a tip. You can leave a comment on my blog or the Miami New Times article. You can submit a web tip to Miami Dade Crime Stoppers or call 305-471-8477. You can contact Miami Dade Police Detective Aaron Mancha at 305-418-7245 or amancha@mdpd.com. No matter how small a detail you may know, it may lead us to answers please reach out and help bring Lilly back home.
If everyone who reads this would take a moment to make a phone call to the US Attorney's Office - it would be of tremendous help in demanding justice for Lilly. Ask them to investigate the possible homicide of Lilly Aramburo. It only takes a minute to make a phone call.

Advocates Are Traveling Cross-Country in the 5th Annual “On the Road to Remember” Tour
Wilmington, NC – For the fifth year, volunteers from the North Carolina-based CUE Center for Missing Persons will set out on another cross country tour to raise awareness of missing children and adults. The team is scheduled to make numerous appearances throughout Illinois in August; distributing a trail of DVD’s, press kits and valuable information concerning 110 missing persons and 6 unsolved homicide cases. Many Illinois cases are included in this year’s tour and will be highlighted at the groups preplanned rally stops that will include participation from law enforcement agencies, advocates - organizations, families of the missing and local and state officials.
“After so many years, missing persons and homicide cases fade from the public’s radar, but for the families and friends left behind, the nightmare continues — every minute of every day,” said CUE Founder, Monica Caison, who is leading the caravan of volunteers”. “We make this trip each year to assure no case fades from memory and to support the families who remain searching for a resolution. They need our help and the community’s help to bring forth information.”
The 2008 tour, On the Road to Remember will depart from Wilmington, NC on August 21st, and will end more than 5, 299 miles later returning the volunteers to their home state North Carolina, on September 2nd. Hundreds of volunteers will take part in various legs of the tour, which will include thirty rally stops, traveling thru seventeen states in an effort to promote a public awareness.Stacy Ann Peterson

Best intentions aside, recent studies have shown that online petitions actually aren't all that productive. http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/petition/internet.asp
Yet, all hope is not lost. Project Jason has a wonderful task for all of us, to help implement an essential bill to aid many loved one's missing persons. And with the way they have it set-up, it's just as easy as signing an online petition, yet the impact is far greater.
http://www.projectjason.org/legislation.html
These are the basic steps involved:
1) If you are interested in helping make a difference in the lives of thousands of missing persons and their families, send an email to campaignforthemissing@projectjason.org Give us your name and the state in which you live. Campaign volunteers are asked to work as a team and post updates on a special area of Project Jason’s forum.
2) Look up the name and contact information for your state senator. This is the official who works with state law rather than federal. You may look up your representative here http://www.ncsl.org/public/leglinks.cfm
3) Send either via email or US mail the prepared letter you will find at the end of this posting to that representative. You are asking them to sponsor this bill and to present it to the senate.
4) If you get a negative response, write to other senators until sponsorship is obtained. (My hope is that there will be more than one person in each state working on this, so that no one person is working on it.)
Go to this link to Copy and Paste a sample letter for this project........

A Mother's loving look at her best friend and daughter.
I have copied this entry, with permission, from the blog http://bringrachelhome.blogspot.com. I felt that it described the events better than I could myself, and Rachel's daughter, 13 year old Amber, speaks her words.
As a footnote to this entry, Amber was able to reach her $4000 goal by organizing her fundraisers. A search was performed Saturday, August 9. Rachel is still missing and Amber needs our encouragement and support.
One Henry County Daughter’s Effort to Find Missing Mother
Press Release
On Thursday, March 13, 2008, thirteen-year-old Amber Simmons awoke to a day that would change her life forever. Her mother, Rachel Conger, was missing and Amber has since been doing everything that she can to help find her mother. On April 13, Amber organized a candlelight vigil at the Henry County Court House to honor and pray for her mother to be found. Since the first month of her mother’s disappearance, Amber has since turned her attention to raising money to bring in professional search organizations to help find her mother, Rachel Conger.
Her daughter, Amber, is the driving force behind each event to help find her mother whom she dearly misses. She had this to say to the community; ''I really want my mom found; she means the world to me. What 13 year old would not want their mom found? I am appreciative for what everyone has done to support us & help search for my mom. I ask for your continued support to help bring her home.''
On June 27, Amber organized a car wash at Advanced Auto Parts that raised $500. When faced with needing to reach an initial goal of $4000.00, Amber got to work organizing two more fundraisers. On July 12, the “Bring Rachel Home” bake sale was held at E.W. James & Sons, and raised $834.00 and on July 26; the “Bring Rachel Home” yard sale raised $550.00. In the planning stages is a benefit concert, which is set to be held on August 23rd, at Casey Jones Village/Old Country Store Amphitheater in Jackson, TN (more details about performers and the time that concert starts will be available in the next several days).
All proceeds from the fundraisers will help cover the immediately needed travel expenses for their upcoming Search & Rescue set for Aug 9th. United Response Search & Rescue Organization has offered the family their assistance with Law Enforcement in search efforts for missing Rachel Conger. They are a Texas based Non-Profit Search & Rescue Organization who aid in searches for missing children & adults nationwide. Their search is set for August 4-10th, with a volunteer community search on August 9th. It will take the community's continued support to help them reach their $4,000 urgently needed goal for ongoing search and rescue efforts.
They are asking for volunteer searchers from the public on Saturday, August 9th. Please spread the word, as we need about 250- 300 volunteers to help aid us in our efforts. More details will be available soon. We are also in need of food and water donations for that day. If willing to donate meals or drinks, please contact:

Visit Peace 4 the Missing
http://peace4missing.ning.com
I've only been a member of Peace 4 the Missing a few weeks, yet I feel as though I am at home. I don't think I've met a group of people as willing to learn and understand the confusions and pain of the 'left behind' family who is searching for their missing loved one.
Peace 4 the Missing was created by Maggie's Rose, who writes:
Can We Bring Peace?
No, we can't...In my humble opinion and own life experience, only God can do that. And sometimes, even HIS peace is not one we are capable of truly comprehending nor accepting in this life on earth.
So, why are we here then, at Peace 4 the Missing? Why do we and why should we care? Because, even if, God willing, we are "only" somehow able to bring about even one mere drop, the tiniest of sprinkle of a peaceful, even momentarily peaceful feeling to those forced to endure the anguishing pain of the missing, then it is worth it.
In her spare time, (Not that I'd imagine she really has much of that) Maggie's Rose marches to the front line...gearing to save the world one person at a time. Her latest efforts were to bring about an awareness for Lisa Hatchell, whose July 19th birthday ironically coincided with the 5th year of her mysterious disappearance.
Researching on a subject that a lot of the world prefers to close their eyes to, Maggie's Roses' efforts to activate public awareness are commendable. Actively Aware.
A second member of Peace 4 the Missing that deserves a round of applause is Delilah, who says:
Not long ago Maggiesrose and I started talking about building a place where families of missing persons could come and do what they needed to do to make their life a little bit more comforting despite the pain and sorrow they have endured. We talked and talked about what to offer and just how to do it and finally came up with the premise that if we build it, they will come.
Perhaps the mailbox isn't overflowing with requests to join, (yet) but slowly people are finding their way to Peace 4 the Missing. So Delilah, you were right...we will come.
With the blog title Mothers Are Vanishing, need I say more about Delilah's passion?
Along with the efforts of raising awareness for Lisa Hatchell, Delilah has posted on missing mothers such as:
Lucely "Lilly" Aramburo
Alice Donovan
Viridiana Maldonado
Unfortunately the list of missing mothers goes on. Luckily, they have warriors such as Delilah on their side!
One by one people who find Peace 4 the Missing are joining in. Some of these members speak of the unthinkable, talking of their angers, frustrations, and emptiness, to what is starting to feel like a 'family'
Please join us at Peace 4 the Missing, for those who are missing, for those who miss them and for those who care.

Missing since 1983 and having two notorious serial killers, Henry Lee Lucas and Robert Charles Brown, both confess to having murdered her, you would think this case would be screaming in the headlines. That is not the case. This daughter has been on a 25 year quest to find the answers, the REAL answers. Over the years authorities have given her hope to resolving her mother's disappearance only to have that hope dashed and replaced by another theory and confession. Back to square one, and the emotional roller coaster that always accompanies a child looking for her mother.
IFTHE RED RIVER SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT HAD DONETHEIR JOBS IN 1983, THERE WOULD BE FEWER BROWNE VICTIMS TODAY."
Did you know he was the apartment maintenance man to the complex where my mom disappeared & where Ms. Hudson was murdered? The most vicious murder that community has ever seen and Browne WASN"T Even Questioned...that still angers me.
It is devastating from a child's point of view sure, but as I have grown older, I needed her here with me. When I got married, when I held my first newborn and looked down into those beautiful blue eyes and thought, "God. Mom I wish you could see this angel.' But, I guess she saw him before I did. When I was up all night with a sick child, scared and unsure... motherly advise would have been great...when I got a promotion at work...the sorrow and grief doesn't end one day. It is something we will carry with us forever. It molds us into the women we become.
I have told my children about her, their grandmother, my son replied, "Man, Momma, I wish I could have known her." Me too boy.
My mom was one of the funniest people I have ever known. Naturally funny, she didn't have to try. And, she never ever was violent, not so much as a spanking. So, for her to meet her demise the way she did is terribly ironic.
I hope this helps you, and I hope I didn't babble too much! Thanks again for your heart and all you ladies do!
Sincerely,
Karrie

I'd like to thank Mr. David Van Norman for allowing me to publish his :Rules for Dealing with Civil Servants". It is my sincere wish that everyone who reads this, benefits from it, like I did.
I recommend to everyone who seeks justice for a missing persons(s) or victim. Most people are too fearful of police. He gives very straight forward and practical advice. And explains:
"Matthew (victim) was, and still may be, a taxpayer. His family are taxpayers. YOU are a taxpayer. They (or you, on their behalf) needn't go begging, hat in hand, for information. He, they, and you, have already paid for that service! You support, by paying taxes and purchasing goods and services in the community (anywhere), the infrastructure of government, which includes law enforcement organizations. You paid for my training and experience (regardless of where you live) for me to learn what I know, and for the investigators in Whatever County to do what they do. You pay for the gas that propels their cars and the computers on which they type their reports. You, as a taxpayer, citizen, victim, loved-one of a victim, or private advocate acting on behalf of the family, have EVERY RIGHT to expect professionalism, and adherence to the rules of professional conduct. If you don't get that, someone needs to loose their job!

Being a child of the 60's I can relate to the fascination with travelling the country and being a groupie. The Grateful Dead were just starting out in the Haight Ashbury area of San Fransico back then. Hanging out with the likes of Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane and many others who made that area famous as a hippie haven. I even had big plans in 1969 to travel there with some friends, but that didn't happen for me.
Fast forward and the "Dead" are still travelling around and doing concerts, even though Jerry Garcia is no longer with us. They have attracted another generation of followers, a band of gypsy homeless that live for the day. Drugs are, and always have been, a big part of that scene along with the camaraderie of a pseudo family.
This is the world that Bridget Pendell entered back in the early 90's. She happened upon a bad crowd and began using drugs, giving up her aspirations of modeling and nursing. She was also married and had a daughter, little Sasha.
Her drug addiction led to prostitution in the San Fransico area and that is where she was last seen. Bridget was regular about phoning her family, but since April of 1997 they have heard nothing from her.
Bridget's story is sad beyond belief and I urge you to go to the links at the bottom and read the details of what has been written. Her sister, Jackie Horne, searched and searched for her along with several others over the years, until her early death in 2006 at the age of 29.
Bridget leaves behind her daughter, who is now 16 and a family who loves her. They have never given up hope that she is alive somewhere and have worked with several law enforcement agencies, websites, and detectives.
When trying to find the homeless it leads you to people and places that are a shame to our senses. Every one of them has a story, some do not want to be found, ashamed to go back to their families.
Bridget's street nickname is "Butterfly". As butterflies have an ethereal quality, that is how I imagine Bridget, beautiful, with an air of innocence, living in an ugly world.

It has been many years since there has been any public information about the disappearance of Alice Donovan, although her family, especially her two lovely daughters, still have the ultimate unanswered question...Where is she?
Even though the two murderers have been convicted and sit on death row, they refuse to be specific and tell this family where they so callously left her. What kind of evil can perpetuate something as uncaring as these two individuals?
The words below are from Alice's daughter. These words will give you just a peek of the pain this young lady has gone through, and how she is only now getting strong enough to work on healing her heart. She misses her Mother and only wants her home to rest in peace.
Still Waiting........
And yes almost six years later we are still waiting to bring her home. Just thinking about it brings the tears to my eyes.
Sigh..Where is she? All we want is to bring her home and give her a proper resting place. She doesn't deserve to out in the middle of the woods on the side of some road. As I write this post the tears fall. So many years of the not knowing just tares you up inside.
There have been moments over the past six years that I have longed to have my mother there, by my side. For support, compassion, laughs, love, a shoulder to cry on. A mothers love. I crave it, I miss it so badly.. I miss my mom, Alice..
Will she ever be found? I hope so..
This post as it turns out is really not a discussion it's more of my feelings. I'm sorry I got carried away with my emotions..It's something I have been needing to do know for a long time. I have surpressed my feelings about my mom for so long that they are just begging to be released.
I can't change what has happened to me, my family, or my mom. I can only help others in my situation and hope that I have something to give them. Even if it is only awareness and compassion for how they feel. Because I do know what it feels like to have your world turned upside down in just a blink of an eye....

Lisa Hatchell's birthday is July 19. It also marks the 5 year anniversary of being missing. She has 2 small children and a grieving mother who need answers. Once again I am enlisting the help of all of you here to give up just a few minutes and make a phone call, write an email, hit up a friend in high places. I know a lot of you know people who can bring awareness to subjects that have just smoldered on the back burner of the internet and bring it to the main stream. Please lend your hand and make this happen, there isn't much time and....It's her Birthday!....

July 19th marks both Lisa’s Birthday as well as the very date that she disappeared. Such a bittersweet day, I can only imagine, for all those who love her as they celebrate her birth while at the same time are constantly painfully aware of the day she went missing. In honor of Lisa, Peace 4 the Missing is dedicating July 19th as Lisa Michelle Hatchell Day.
Please leave a message of support, encouragement, prayers…for Lisa’s Mom and two Children who so miss her. Let’s surround them with our compassion and love especially on this most difficult day.

In two days it will be Lisa's birthday. It also marks the day that she disappeared in 2003, five long years ago, from Philadelphia, PA after an argument with her long term boyfriend, Tyrone Henderson. It won't be much of a celebration for her grieveing mother,Alonie Walton, and Lisa's two children.
Lisa was a veteran who served in the military and protected our country, but where were the ones who are sworn to protect and serve on our streets when Lisa went missing? Like so many other missing persons cases, there was not much done in the critical hours in the beginning, not even questioning Tyrone and searching the house they shared. To this day, the house has not been searched and Tyrone has moved on.
Alonie Walton and Lisa's family, like so many others, have had to make phone calls, write letters, make demands that someone look closer into this case. Many times there are no return calls and just more disappointment. The family has reached out to the internet to get this case back in the news.
Nancy Grace, of CNN, ran a story in January 2008 that highlighted Lisa's case.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIP.../25/ng.01.html
It would be so nice if she would do an update for Lisa's birthday and 5 year anniversary of being missing, getting the word out there one more time. It would be a bittersweet gift to Alonie to know that the world has not forgotten her daughter.
This is one more missing mother who has children wondering what happened, where is she?

Wheeling, WV sits on the Ohio River and is a city that is rich in history. The people who live their are strong, determined people who worked in coal mines, steel mills, and glass factories. A sister across the river is Martins Ferry, Ohio and the people of both areas will not give up hope that one day a young mother will be found.
Kristen Anderson's life was taken from her at the age of 24 by a controlling, abusive, violent husband, James. Kristen had moved out of their home and in with a friend to escape the years of abuse. It was here that a violent argument ensued and when her friend came downstairs to soothe a crying child, Kristen was nowhere to be found, although her glasses, purse, and cell phone were left behind.
Oct. 1, 2006 was the last time Kristen was seen, on surveillance video, her lifeless body being carried out of James' apartment and put into the trunk of his car. Where he took her from there, no one knows.
He was brazen enough to tell a friend that his wife's body would never be found and yet cowardly enough to take his own life when he found out about the incriminating video, never telling anyone where the mother of his children could be found. It is an awful and gruesome story and he took it to his grave.
Kristen's mother, Mary Dailey, knew something was wrong that morning and tried to file a missing person's report but was told she had to wait 24 hours before investigators would take the report. She turned to a local news station for help, but still had to wait the 24 hours before police would step in to help.
In the midst of all of this horror were two little boys, Michael and Eric. They reportedly witnessed years of abuse their mother suffered at the hands of James Anderson, including the night she died. It has been reported that they witnessed their mother sitting on the couch that morning, but she wouldn't talk to them and little Michael told his grandmother later that Mommy felt very cold when he touched her.
Kristen's brother, Ed, saw a large barrel next to his sister's home that was gone shortly after she vanished and wonders if James put Kristen inside the barrel and sent it into the Ohio River.
There are several areas of speculation concerning where Kristen's body may be, but so far she has not been located, leaving behind two young sons who are now being raised by their grandmother, along with three other grandchildren. At the memorial service the two youngsters cried in grief when they saw pictures of their mother and clung to their remaining family members.
These two young boys, along with the rest of Kristen's family and friends are all victims of domestic violence. Although the memorial service was meant for closure to those who loved her, there can never be closure until she is found and brought home to the family that loves her.
Please go to the links provided to read the details of this sad case. Keep these little boys in your prayers and pray that they heal from the deep wounds that have been inflicted upon them.
