It has happened to the good people at cal of duty again, someone is trying to rip off there name and use it for the dark-side. The first time it was modernwarfare3.com which was sending users to battlefield.com? and bashing COD MW3 before playing it seeing videos or it even being done. They where hiding behind there domain name COD people got the peoples info then went after them in court and Activision won the case.
the legal team at Activision has a new case on their hands.modernwarfare4.com isn’t owned by Activision but the site takes slight digs at Activision by subtly promoting Battlefield 3. The whole site is just a FAQ page.
When you visit the site, you will find these remarks from the owner. They answered whether Activision is trying to “assault” the site with “Yes, but we counte[re]d it with a squad of Battlefield 3 soldiers. They soon ran. I think you are confusing reality and gaming again.” It’s worth noting that the guys behind the site claim that they’re not seeking ransom from Activision, or as they put it “No. Personally, we don’t care – and want no money. We took this domain for opportunistic giggles.” They even claim that if the mega publisher “were” able to buy the domain from them, they would “ask [Activision] for a donation to a charity of my choice. Probably Help for Heroes – you know, those guys that don’t get the ability to respawn when the timer hits zero…” They closed the statement by saying “Well, I’m buying Battlefield 3.. Fancy a game?”

So There we go eh? Ferrero are trying to take nutella.co.uk off me after I have had it for 6 years on the trot.
I have proceedings to complete in the first week of November to see where this goes. Whether they can take it from me isn’t that simple really, it still has to go through the UK domain mediation routines.
They have it because of copyright and brand abuse, but I have it because ive had it for so long and I haven’t made one shilling outta it. I have proof of history.
They are greedy and know I have put a lot of work into the domain, now they have advertisements going on in the UK, they realise I am getting "quite a few" daily hits. HAH if only they knew how many hits I was getting during the Willy Wonka days. *cough* hundreds *cough*..
All I need from you is one sentence to why I should be allowed to keep nutella.co.uk and you can guess where my blog is, with all the updates and information. So There we go eh? Ferrero are trying to take nutella.co.uk off me after I have had it... more

The United States crosses sabers with Russia again, not in the name of nukes, but for control over the world’s environmental information.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN, has recently made available the top-level domain name “.eco” which has sparked a cold war of words between two companies seeking to seize it’s revenue generating potential.
Californian-based start-up aptly named, Dot Eco, has the support of Former Vice President Al Gore and intends to benefit “green” organizations with funds generated through the sale of domains under the .eco classification.
On the side of the competition, Former President of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbechev, supports the Canadian-based company, Big Room. While they intend to fund “sustainability projects” with their profits, their strategy only allows companies who pass special “green” requirements to obtain the domain names.
According to Vice President Gore, Big Room’s plan is “unworkable,” and Big Room’s co-founder Trevor Bowden fired back by saying it’s “unfortunate they’ve taken this approach.”

Social network MySpace and British telecoms provider BT will be among the first companies to offer a new type of Web domain for their users to manage their contact details live online.
Telnic, the registry operator for ".tel" top-level domains, announced the general availability of such domains for all businesses this week. Having a .tel domain allows individuals or companies to have an Internet presence without having a Website.
UK-based Telnic describes .tel as a means to a 21st century business card, replacing the need for a physical card whose contact details will sooner or later become outdated.
"You have two problems today: a multiplicity of information, and mobility," Telnic's Chief Executive Khashayar Mahdavi told Reuters in a telephone interview. ".tel won't change."
Contact details can be published and managed on a .tel domain by their owners and can be accessed via any Internet-connected device without necessarily using a browser.
This is because the data is held within the Internet's domain name system (DNS). In the case of other types of domain such as .com the DNS holds details of where information can be found, but not the actual data.
Telnic says owners will be able to control who can find their contact details. They will also be able to search-optimize their data to make it easily discoverable in a Web search.
As well as MySpace and BT, Germany's iWelt -- a directory-services company with about 8 million customers, also announced a partnership with UK-based Telnic this week.
BT will initially offer .tel domains through its social networking site for small businesses, BT Tradespace.
Telnic will receive a percentage of revenues from .tel domain names sold by its partners.
Until now trademark holders such as Nestle,, Google and the author J.K. Rowling have been able to register their .tel names, followed by a period in which companies could pay a premium to have their pick of names.
Now, remaining .tel domains are generally available for between $12 and $35 per year.
Telnic's technology also holds the long-term possibility of helping all telephony migrate to the Internet.
Among other technologies that can do this are Skype's proprietary system, and ENUM -- a technology that translates existing phone numbers into Internet domain names.Social network MySpace and British telecoms provider BT will be among the first... more
