It has been estimated that over 8 billion US gallons (30.3 billion liters) of used motor oil are produced every year by the world's cars and trucks. While some of that is re-refined into new oil or burned in furnaces for heat, neither of those processes are entirely environmentally-innocuous. In other cases, it is simply discarded.

After the divorce my diet consisted primarily of uncooked ramen and whiskey. Occasionally I wondered aloud if I'd ever have another home cooked meal again. Then I discovered "Microwave for One" and everything changed. My favorite chapters where: Chapter 1: Plugging in your Microwave and You Chapter 4: How to Wait 3 Minutes Chapter 11 [BONUS CHAPTER]: Eating with Cats In closing, I give this book 2 thumbs up (and a paw!). Thanks Sonia AllisonAfter the divorce my diet consisted primarily of uncooked ramen and whiskey.... more

The hole has provided astronomers with a surprising glimpse into the end of the star-forming process. Stars are born in dense clouds of dust and gas that can now be studied in unprecedented detail with Herschel. Although jets and winds of gas have been seen coming from young stars in the past, it has always been a mystery exactly how a star uses these to blow away its surroundings and emerge from its birth cloud. Now, for the first time, Herschel may be seeing an unexpected step in this process. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/submit-an-article/362-hole-in-spaceThe hole has provided astronomers with a surprising glimpse into the end of the... more

Radio Frequency ( RF) & Microwave Prevention Tips from Safe Living Technologies
Excerpt:
"Avoid the use of cordless telephones. Most new models (DECT) base stations constantly transmit RF radiation even when they are not in use.
If a cordless phone is necessary, choose 900 MHz cordless phone before higher frequency phones. Most 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz phones base stations constantly broadcast where as the majority of 900 MHz phones do not. Also the 900 MHz cordless phones use an analogue signal where the 2.4 GHz and the 5.8 GHz phones use more biologically damaging pulsed digital signals."

The research found certain nerve damage in the form of damaged nerve cells in the cerebral cortex and in the hippocampus, the memory center of the brain. Albumin leakage occurs directly after radiation, while the nerve damage occurs only later, after four to eight weeks. Moreover, they have discovered alterations in the activity of a large number of genes, not in individual genes but in groups that are functionally related. The research found certain nerve damage in the form of damaged nerve cells in the... more

According to the New Scientist, the U.S. military has developed a non-lethal microwave weapon that creates sound inside your head.
The device – dubbed MEDUSA (Mob Excess Deterrent Using Silent Audio) – uses microwaves which interact with your ears and creates irritating noises. Such auditory effects could cause "discomfort or even incapacitation" but are heard by the recipient only.
MEDUSA is aimed for military or crowd-control applications but it is still not clear whether its employment may cause substantial neural damage.
