So far we've dealt with some of the politicians, prostitutes and police officers that are involved in Lexington's sex trafficking industry. I've detailed my history and how I got involved in solving the murder of Deborah Wardlaw. Just prior to becoming an Examiner, I ran for city council in 2010 to bring attention to the corruption and government ties to the human trafficking industry. My campaign wound up being a catalyst to more information filling in the pieces of the puzzle. I will now introduce you to the members, the enablers and the customers of the Big Blue Mafia....
Let's re-cap.
* I made claims that the Lexington Police take payoffs from prostitutes and Deborah Wardlaw was murdered to cover this up.
* Deborah Wardlaw herself made these claims days before her murder and named individuals involved. The individuals named are placed on her case to investigate it.
* Those same officers are either convicted or proven to be corrupt in at least three cases around the same time.
* Those very individuals, the mayor, county attorney, and others at the time of the Wardlaw murder are implicated in covering up the pedophile case of Ron Berry and the Micro-City government.
* One defendant, when asked about the case, hurls a veiled threat in my direction.
* Finally, a city council member refuses to investigate the murder of Deborah Wardlaw.
* Then, he admits to not only being close friends but helping out legally a former escort agency owner with ties to local government.
* This former escort agency owner ran for mayor when he owned the prostitution based company and was currently running for mayor when this statement was made.
Some of the victims suing Micro-City Government allege Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Officials & Mayors ran a child sex-ring. The victims allege racketeering, interstate transport of minors for sex, etc.
This was the three judge panel's summary:
From 1969 until 2000, Lexington Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) provided funding for
Micro-City Government, a summer program founded by Ronald Berry. The purpose of the program was to
provide part-time summer employment for disadvantaged area youth.
According to many of the program’s participants, however, Berry physically, mentally, and sexually
abused them, with the latest acts of abuse occurring in May of 1995. Berry was subsequently convicted on 12
counts of sodomy and abuse of minors in criminal proceedings brought by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
The plaintiffs in the present case, 96 former Micro-City Government participants, claim that LFUCG
knowingly concealed and facilitated the abuse. Specifically, they allege that LFUCG officials were informed
of the abuse on a number of occasions, and that at least one LFUCG official actually witnessed “one of Berry’s
sexual outings.”
Nevertheless, LFUCG continued to fund Micro-City Government and is alleged to have actively
concealed Berry’s behavior. The plaintiffs further allege that LFUCG retained Berry as the director of the
program even after LFUCG officials were aware of the abuse, and that at least one Mayor of Lexington refused
to cut off funding or expose Berry because doing so would not have been “politically sustainable.”....
This latest news is the result of a two-year long federal investigation into the Jesters for prostitution, sex trafficking and child sex tourism after three Jesters pleaded guilty to violating or conspiring to violate the Mann Act for taking an illegal alien prostitute from Buffalo to a Jester weekend party in Kentucky. Former NY State Supreme Court Judge Ronald Tills admitted in his plea agreement to working with national Jester officers to make arrangements to transport the prostitutes from Buffalo to Ontario for a national Jester meeting.
Herbeck also reported today that an FBI agent wrote "Tills delegated that duty to Michael Lesinski, a member of the [Jesters] and then an active deputy sheriff with the Erie County Sheriff's Department."
Tills was sentenced in August, 2009 to a year and a half in federal prison for either transporting or arranging for the transportation of prostitutes to Jester meetings in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Florida, New York and Canada. He’s currently incarcerated at federal facilities in Lexington, Kentucky.
Tills and two other Jesters were caught in March, 2008 by the FBI in a human trafficking sting that targeted four massage parlors that were fronts for the prostitution of illegal alien Asian women.
As a result, Tills and retired police captain John Trowbridge pleaded guilty to violating the Mann Act. Tills' law clerk, Michael Stebick, admitted to driving the motor home that transported an illegal alien prostitute from Buffalo, NY to a Jester meeting in Lexington, Kentucky, and pleaded guilty to what Lesinski has been charged with, conspiring to violate the Mann Act.
Members of the Royal Order of Jesters are secretly invited Shriners, best known for their red fezzes and operating a network of 21 hospitals that provide free medical care to burned and crippled children.

If you think ordering Craigslist to take out the Adult Services section will end prositution ads on the site...think again. The dating section has always had it's share of adult services available. You just have to recognize the code language. A recent review of the site revealed these details.
Sometimes the title will contain the clue. A common trick is the use of the $ symbol in a name or word. For instance, $exy $indy in town looking for dates. Another clue would be the use of the word 'generous'. It might read, Pretty female looking for generous men to date. Any use of the words cross-dresser, TV, she-male, TS and others are also hints that this might be an escort advertising services.
The subject may also contain clues and can be very creative. Any reference to dating or spending money is typically a hint that this is an escort ad. "Two girlfriends looking for dates" means two escorts looking for customers. Requests asking for a message in order to receive a message with details means you will receive rates and information after your first contact. A good rule of thumb for customers of the dating section is; if it seems to good to be true, it's probably an escort.
If all else seems above board, the picture is worth a thousand...dollars. Escort photographs typically seem either too professional and too pretty or amateur...on purpose. Most attractive women don't take suggestive photographs in Victoria's Secret underwear and then post the pics on the internet.

People involved in the sex trade still face discrimination, harassment and violence from the people charged with helping them. A 2009 study of Chicago girls in the sex trade, conducted by the Young Women’s Empowerment Project, paints a stark picture of what keeps girls isolated and vulnerable. Even when girls sought out the support they needed – from drug treatment and foster care programs to hospitals and the police – they were denied help because of their involvement in the sex trade. Girls describe hospitals discriminating against them and not providing full care, being physically and sexually assaulted by foster parents, and being accused of lying by the police when they seek help after being raped. In fact, girls’ reports of abuse by police outnumbered the stories of other forms of institutional violence that girls encountered by far.

My previous article discussed Mike Comberger and Fantasy's escorts. We talked about how, with the help of local police, Comberger has grown his escort agency into an international, multi-state agency. I mentioned that after Mr. Comberger found out that I was investigating his agency he came looking for me. He found me at a local Thornton's gas station and then proceeded to assault me with his vehicle. I will now detail this event and my attempts to get Mr. Comberger prosecuted, or even arrested for this assault.
On the morning of 11-28-98 I was leaving the house to go out on an advertising route. When I opened the door a card fell from the door and landed on the ground. It was a card from the Division of Police, Department of Patrol and had the name Walter R. Ridener on the front. On the back of the card was a simple drawing and a street number and name, 441 Redding Rd. Strangely enough, Officer Ridener would later show up when I get assaulted. The perpetrator happens to run an escort agency from the address written on the back of the card. I continued on and began advertising by putting small ads on bulletin boards and payphones around town. I had been doing this very same thing since 1993.
When I arrived at the Thornton’s on Redding Rd. and Tates Creek, I proceeded to the phones and found that Fantasy’s Escorts had torn down my ads and replaced them with some of their own. Fantasy’s ads can be pretty blunt and do not offer legitimate or legal entertainment of any kind. I have had a longstanding fight with the escort agencies about this type of illegal competition.
I proceeded to replace Fantasy’s ads with my own when I heard from across Tates Creek Rd. somebody yelling. I looked and it was Mike Comberger, owner of Fantasy’s yelling, “I found you, I found you, you’re gonna die mxxfxx”. Mr. Comberger is in, what appears to be, a 70’s convertible Cadillac with gold trim, he has a silk shirt fully unbuttoned with three long gold chains on his neck.

My last article talked about my efforts to get the officers mentioned by Deborah Wardlaw investigated for her murder. Deborah had called me days prior to her murder to tell me that certain police officers had threatened her life. I cannot tell you how much it can haunt you to have received a call like this and then to turn on your television days later to hear it come true.
Deborah's phone was being tapped during the call and the original recording had interference and her voice faded in and out. Modern technology and a wonderful program called Steinberg Clean allowed me to improve the recording substantially.
Will you listen to this recording and allow yourself to forget that Deborah owned an escort agency? You see, even worse than the crime she was guilty of is the crime the officers were committing. They were extorting her and other escort agencies for 'protection' money according to Deborah and investigations of my own.

Lexington's legacy of corruption and vice has a long history and continues to this day. Lexington's ties to prostitution and corruption can be traced all the way back to it's founding. While Lexington cleaned up, at least on the surface, for years, these issues have found their way into the headlines steadily for the past 20 years. Most recently popping up in the KLC, Airport Board, local elections and the city's auditing scandals. The characters and organizations may change over time but the one constant remains the connection to vice and specifically prostitution and the adult industry.

People may have trouble believing that child prostitution has become a national problem -- but it's on the verge of becoming out of control.

Child prostitution has become a national problem in this country. Yes, I know that you have trouble believing that. You don't want to believe it, so you tend not to.
"Widespread sex trafficking in children?" you may be saying to yourself. "Sure, it happens overseas in places like Thailand and Moldova, and while there may be some of it here there's not that much of it in our country."
Based on a months-long investigation and some reportorial digging, I'm here to tell you that you are wrong. We all are. We're in denial.
In covering news for more than 60 years, I'd like to think that few stories shock me anymore. But this is one of them. We ran across it late last year and the more we dug, the more disturbing it became.
Eighty-year-old men paying a premium to violate teenage girls, sometimes supplied by former drug gangs now into child sex trafficking big time? You've got to be kidding. Nope. That's happening and a lot more along the same lines.
The business is booming. One of the worst areas for it runs along lines running roughly from Seattle to Portland, to San Francisco and Los Angeles, to Las Vegas. But no place in the country is immune.
To pick just one example among many, Portland, Oregon is without doubt one of the nation's treasures. It has been voted one of the best places to live and work. But according to police, the city and its outlying communities has become a hub for the sexual exploitation of children. In a recent nationwide sting by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, Portland ranked second in the country for the number of rescued child prostitutes. And according to Doug Justus, the workhorse sergeant in charge of Portland's tiny vice detail, many of the children caught up in this are middle class kids from the area.
The girls, sometimes as young as 12, often 13-16, are lured by a "front man" in his mid-to-late teens. He becomes her "boyfriend," taking her to dinner, buying her nice things, sometimes meeting her parents. The girl eventually moves in with him. Then he says they need money to continue being together. First, she's enticed to sleep with his friends to pay the rent. Soon she's turning tricks for what police say is an endless supply of older men willing to pay top money for sex with very young girls. Other times convincing the young adolescent girls to sell themselves happens very quickly.
"It is an out-of-control problem. It's unbelievable," say Justus. "I've only done this vice-squad job for three years. I've been a cop for 29. If you had told me three years ago that a 14-year-old girl would go to a food court, meet a guy, and three hours later be selling herself, I'd 'a said, no frigging way. It happens every single day, every day."
It is a very lucrative business, according to Justus. "An average pimp with one kid will make between $800 and $l,000 a day. That's seven days a week, 30 days a month," he said. And the pimps usually have a stable of young girls. No wonder so many criminals in the drug trade have turned to it which they have in droves. There's less chance of being caught, less chance of being prosecuted if caught, lighter sentences -- if any -- if convicted.

Lexington, KY Mayor, Jim Newberry, recently made the statement that some people live their lives and nobody notices...their lives don't matter much. This offended the little known brother of the Easter Bunny, Fred E. Bunney.
Fred E. Bunney heard that the mayoral candidates would be debating at the Clear Channel radio station on Leland Conway's show. The already upset hare, Mr. Bunney, decided to confront Mayor Newberry there at the radio station.
Mayor Newberry had a change of heart and said that Fred's life mattered. However, Fred wanted the mayor to investigate the murder of a woman in 1999 possibly done by police officers. She was the subject when Mayor Newberry said...some people live their lives and nobody notices...their lives don't matter much. Mayor Newberry assured that he would 'try' to watch the 4 minute video after nine months of knowing about it and the issue being in the local news.
Teresa Isaac, Jim Gray and Skip Horine all talk with Fred E. Bunney and give their take on the worthiness of each of our lives.
At the end of the video Dave Wilson asks if a janitor, like himself, is a worthy life. "The Lab Named Lloyd" (His stage name) also asked whether his life was a worthy one in Mayor Newberry's eyes.
This video is done as a comedy and political satire however the issue raised is valid and one we should all be aware of as we meet people from all walks of life and all wealth backgrounds whom are EQUAL to us in every way.
