"In a way, Kings of Leon may be following the career course of a band like Nickelback, with a signature sound that's essentially too rock-ous for CHR but capable of scoring big-time with a breakout ballad. The comparison will be blasphemous to KOL fans, who may already be plotting murder just at my mentioning Caleb and Chadin in the same paragraph. It's not such a stretch, though: Nickelback has already covered "Use Somebody" in concert."
Blasphemous to say the very least. Is blogger Chris Willman's comparison completely far off? It sounds to me like he's only taking a look at the slightly similar vocal stylings of the lead singers and the way both bands broke into the mainstream.
