Help Get IDA's Undercover TV On The Air In Your Town!
Undercover TV is an innovative television series that exposes the extreme animal cruelty deliberately hidden from the American public.
This revolutionary new half-hour television program produced by IDA takes viewers where other shows won't - inside of factory farms, vivisection laboratories, fur operations, puppy mills, and other exploitive industries to show people the truth about the suffering of animals behind the scenes.
Most Americans have never seen how animals used for food, clothing or scientific experiements are treated because those who profit from their suffering keep them hidden behind locked and guarded doors. By showing happy animated animals on TV commercials, they depict the treatment of these animal inaccurately.
If your city doesn't yet air Undercover TV, take action by volunteering for our nationwide video distribution network. As a resident of any city, you can submit episodes of Undercover TV to your community public access station.
This simple form of activism is extremely powerful because each episode of Undercover TV that is aired can potentially wake thousands of people up to the reality of animal exploitation - something most television viewers would otherwise never see.
If you would like to bring Undercover TV to your area, contact info@undercovertv.org and we'll show you how.Help Get IDA's Undercover TV On The Air In Your Town!

Ashland, Wisconsin residents Alissa Weitz, 26, and Brian Castillo, 23, will soon be completing their 1,300 mile journey around Lake Superior.
They are a couple in love with Lake Superior and each other - on a modern day lover's adventure.
They arrived in Marquette in late July and spent Lake Superior Day hiking with friends and swimming including jumping off the tall cliffs at the city’s “black rocks.”
A big part of their quest is educating the public about the environmental value of Lake Superior.
Averaging 25 miles a day - with their longest day over 40 miles.
They encountered water temperatures as low as 38 degrees, fog outside of Marquette, rough waves outside of Houghton, Michigan that prevent them from rounding the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula - and instead cut through the Keweenaw Waterway.
They left Ashland, Wisconsin on July 1 and hope to complete their two-month journey around the first week of September.
Weitz is a native of Dubuque, IA & Castillo is a native of Madison, WI.
Graduates of the Northland College outdoor education program in Ashland, Wisconsin, the couple were competitors working for different kayak guiding companies when they met two years ago and fell in love.
They are documenting their adventure at:
http://www.sessiononsuperior.blogspot.com
Thanks to Down Wind Sports in Marquette, Brian picked up a new kayak due to problems with the one used during the first part of the trek. Sea Kayak Specialists of Marquette provided tools and space to repair their equipment.
This video was made in cooperation with the Cedar Tree Institute, Earth Keeper Initiative, Earth Healing Initiative and Turtle Island Project, all northern Michigan non-profits protecting Lake Superior.
Special thanks to the Lake Superior Binational Forum for helping make this video possible.

This blog is designed to feature a missing person's case each and every Monday that has not been given adequate attention by the media or law enforcement agencies. The statistics show almost a million people in our country are reported missing each year and only a handful of those cases are considered newsworthy.
We believe that all missing persons are important. They are someone's loved one and the devastation it causes in the lives of those families that are left behind is staggering.
We are now in the planning and working stages of this project. Our plan is to contact as many bloggers as we can that would be willing to devote their Monday entries to a particular missing person. We will contact you and let you know which case will be featured, some background information on each case and links to where you can read anything that we can find on the missing person.
We hope that you will say yes to our invitation and become a part of a blogroll that will be set up in the near future. If we can all unite and give attention to that one missing person, maybe we can be instrumental in bringing someone home to the ones who miss and love them. This blog is designed to feature a missing person's case each and every Monday... more

My neighbor friend and I are going to start taking this parenting class tonight called Love & Logic, I think their classes are nationwide...I've heard great things about it, so I'll let you all know! ;)
Love and Logic is a philosophy founded by Jim Fay and Foster W. Cline, M.D., and is based on the experience of a combined total of over 75 years working with and raising kids. It provides simple and practical techniques to help teachers and parents have less stress and more fun while raising responsible kids. Love and Logic offers many useful techniques that teachers and parents can begin experimenting with immediately. Here are some examples:
* Locking–in sadness or empathy before delivering consequences
* Setting limits with enforceable statements
* Sharing control through lots of small choices
* Building relationships with the One Sentence Intervention
* Neutralizing arguing with the Brain Dead technique
* The Anticipatory Consequence
Love and Logic is easy to use, raises responsible kids, and changes lives.

I've only been a member of Peace 4 the Missing a few weeks, yet I feel as though I am at home. I don't think I've met a group of people as willing to learn and understand the confusions and pain of the 'left behind' family who is searching for their missing loved one.
Peace 4 the Missing was created by Maggie's Rose, who writes:
Can We Bring Peace?
No, we can't...In my humble opinion and own life experience, only God can do that. And sometimes, even HIS peace is not one we are capable of truly comprehending nor accepting in this life on earth.
So, why are we here then, at Peace 4 the Missing? Why do we and why should we care? Because, even if, God willing, we are "only" somehow able to bring about even one mere drop, the tiniest of sprinkle of a peaceful, even momentarily peaceful feeling to those forced to endure the anguishing pain of the missing, then it is worth it.
In her spare time, (Not that I'd imagine she really has much of that) Maggie's Rose marches to the front line...gearing to save the world one person at a time. Her latest efforts were to bring about an awareness for Lisa Hatchell, whose July 19th birthday ironically coincided with the 5th year of her mysterious disappearance.
Researching on a subject that a lot of the world prefers to close their eyes to, Maggie's Roses' efforts to activate public awareness are commendable. Actively Aware.
A second member of Peace 4 the Missing that deserves a round of applause is Delilah, who says:
Not long ago Maggiesrose and I started talking about building a place where families of missing persons could come and do what they needed to do to make their life a little bit more comforting despite the pain and sorrow they have endured. We talked and talked about what to offer and just how to do it and finally came up with the premise that if we build it, they will come.
Perhaps the mailbox isn't overflowing with requests to join, (yet) but slowly people are finding their way to Peace 4 the Missing. So Delilah, you were right...we will come.
With the blog title Mothers Are Vanishing, need I say more about Delilah's passion?
Along with the efforts of raising awareness for Lisa Hatchell, Delilah has posted on missing mothers such as:
Lucely "Lilly" Aramburo
Alice Donovan
Viridiana Maldonado
Unfortunately the list of missing mothers goes on. Luckily, they have warriors such as Delilah on their side!
One by one people who find Peace 4 the Missing are joining in. Some of these members speak of the unthinkable, talking of their angers, frustrations, and emptiness, to what is starting to feel like a 'family'
Please join us at Peace 4 the Missing, for those who are missing, for those who miss them and for those who care.

(Marquette, Michigan) - It’s a 1,300 mile, two month odyssey - kayaking around the always beautiful and sometimes treacherous Lake Superior
Ashland, Wisconsin residents Alissa Weitz and Brian Castillo are promoting the protection of Lake Superior - the world’s largest freshwater lake.
The twenty somethings departed Bayfield, Wisconsin on July 1 and hope to complete their journey by September.
The kayaking duo left Marquette, Michigan on Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 2008 to continue their journey.
They arrived in Marquette for Lake Superior Day 2008 - this year that was July 20 2008.
Lake Superior Day is sponsored by the Lake Superior Bi-national Forum and is held annually on the third Sunday of July.
Alissa and Brian spent Lake Superior Day hiking with friends and swimming including jumping off the tall cliffs at the city's "black rocks."
A big part of their quest is educating the public about protecting Lake Superior and why the largest of the Great Lakes is so important..
The trek takes them through the Canada and the United States including Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Averaging 25 miles a day - with their longest day was about 40 miles.
They encountered water temperatures as low as 38 degrees, fog outside of Marquette, rough waves outside of Houghton, Michigan that prevent them from rounding the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula - and instead cut through the Keweenaw Waterway.
Thanks to Down Wind Sports in Marquette, Brian picked up a new kayak because of problems with the one used during the first part of their trek.
Weitz is a native of Dubuque, Iowa and Castillo is a native of Madison, Wisconsin.
Alissa is 26 years old and Brian is 23 years old.
Graduates of the Northland College outdoor education program in Ashland, Wisconsin, the couple were competitors working for different kayak guiding companies when they met two years ago and fell in love.

Lisa Hatchell's birthday is July 19. It also marks the 5 year anniversary of being missing. She has 2 small children and a grieving mother who need answers. Once again I am enlisting the help of all of you here to give up just a few minutes and make a phone call, write an email, hit up a friend in high places. I know a lot of you know people who can bring awareness to subjects that have just smoldered on the back burner of the internet and bring it to the main stream. Please lend your hand and make this happen, there isn't much time and....It's her Birthday!....
Read about the case for details............

July 19th marks both Lisa’s Birthday as well as the very date that she disappeared. Such a bittersweet day, I can only imagine, for all those who love her as they celebrate her birth while at the same time are constantly painfully aware of the day she went missing. In honor of Lisa, Peace 4 the Missing is dedicating July 19th as Lisa Michelle Hatchell Day.
Please leave a message of support, encouragement, prayers…for Lisa’s Mom and two Children who so miss her. Let’s surround them with our compassion and love especially on this most difficult day.
