The [British] National Archives (BNA) is an executive agency of the government of the United Kingdom. Based in Kew in southwest London, the BNA is the UK government’s official archive, containing 1,000 years of history from Domesday Book to the present, with records from parchment and paper scrolls to digital files and archived websites, including Foreign Office and Colonial Office correspondence and files. The collections held by the BNA can be searched using their online catalogue. Entrance to the Archives is free.
On April 18, 2012, the BNA released the first batch of thousands of “lost” colonial-era files believed to have been destroyed, including files on Britain’s former colony of Kenya. Reporters at the UK’s The Guardian were among the first who looked at some of the newly released colonial files. They found that the name of Barack Obama (henceforth, Obama Sr.), the father of the POS in the White House, is on the top of a list of names revealed in a hitherto secret British colonial file of Kenyans studying in the United States.
But it’s not just UK journalists who can access the British National Archives; anyone can. In May 2012, someone conducted a search of the Archives using the search term “Obama” and found that an unnamed son of Obama Sr. was born in Kenya in 1961. Since the POS in the White House is the only known son of Obama Sr. born after 1960 and before 1963 when Kenya became officially independent from the UK, it is reasonable for us to conclude that the POS is that unnamed son of Obama Sr. born in Kenya in 1961. And in fact, the claimed birth date of the POS is August 4, 1961.

Nothing personal, but most states currently run by the GOP are states I wouldn’t be caught dead in, with Kansas and Arizona at the top of the list. Sometimes I think the most uninformed and extreme residents of those states have some sort of bet going to see which can out-crazy the other and how quickly can they do it.

Birthers are hailing a decision by a judge in Georgia that could see Barack Obama struck from the presidential state ballot if Obama fails to prove that he fulfils the ‘natural born citizen’ constitutional requirement to be President.
“Deputy Chief Judge Michael Malihi in the Office of State Administrative Hearings denied a motion by Obama asking to dismiss the complaint that seeks to keep his name off the state ballot during the March presidential primary. The judge’s decision now sets the stage for a Jan. 26 hearing on the issue in Fulton County,” reports the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer.
The complaint was originally filed by Orly Taitz on behalf of a Georgia resident. Taitz, a prominent ‘birther’ who previously represented two soldiers who refused to deploy to Afghanistan over their doubts that Obama is a natural born U.S. citizen and therefore ineligible to be commander in chief, lauded the judge’s ruling.
“I can now depose Obama and everybody else (i)nvolved without any impediment,” the California attorney posted on her website.
Taitz, along with several other Georgia residents, will now be able to present their evidence that Obama was not born in the United States in a court of law – unless the ruling is overturned on appeal before January 26.
The case, Farrar v Obama, was also brought by J. Mark Hatfield, a Republican state representative who last year failed to pass a bill that would have required presidential candidates to submit proof of qualifications.
“The Georgia Election Code (the “Code”) mandates that “[e]very candidate for federal and state office who is certified by the state executive committee of a political party or who files a notice of candidacy shall meet the constitutional and statutory qualifications for holding the office being sought,” stated the ruling in response to President Obama’s attempt to have the case dismissed.
Despite the White House being forced to release a purported copy of Obama’s birth certificate last year, the controversy has yet to completely die down.
One time Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump repeatedly raised questions surrounding Obama’s background during the spring of 2011 before going cold on the issue, a move prominent ‘birther’ and author Jerome Corsi claimed was an organized political stunt to neutralize the issue.
The release of Corsi’s best-selling book, Where’s the Birth Certificate?, coincided with the White House deciding to release Obama’s alleged long form birth certificate. Corsi points to evidence that the document is a forgery created using modern computer techniques and has numerous discrepancies with a genuine 1961 birth certificate created by a typewriter.

“The Obama administration has created and staffed a new position tucked inside their communications shop for helping coordinate rapid response to unfavorable stories and fostering and improving relations with the progressive online community,” reports the Huffington Post.
The man tasked with the role of “disseminating push back” against Obama’s online critics by direct order of the White House will be Jesse Lee, a blogger who has previously put out White House spin in response to claims made by Glenn Beck.
“The post is a new one for this White House. Rapid response has been the purview of the Democratic National Committee (and will continue to be). Lee’s hire, however, suggests that a portion of it will now be handled from within the administration. It also signals that the White House will be adopting a more aggressive engagement in the online world in the months ahead.”
“If you’re going to post something online about Obama that isn’t true, Lee is going to be the one to handle you,” reports Chris O’Shea, noting that the move is about “squashing any negative stories” that could derail Obama’s re-election bid.

Baltimore, Maryland (CNN) -- I will not click on the link to view the long form of President Obama's birth certificate. I will not participate in this final humiliation -- in the president's reluctant acquiescence in this ongoing smear.
The release of the president's long-form certificate proving his birth in Hawaii will not stop the attempts to discredit his leadership. The so-called "birther" movement veils a much more basic challenge to Obama's legitimacy. And yes, that challenge has a great deal to do with his race.
This is not new. Black leaders always have had to prove their "legitimacy" and their allegiance to America. The way to smear the NAACP in the '40s, and leaders like the Rev. Martin Luther King in the '60s, was to suggest that they were Communists working against America.

This ongoing challenge to our legitimacy is the reason that so many blacks from earlier generations were told by our parents that we had to be smarter, more well-mannered, more well-spoken and more circumspect than our white counterparts. We had to prove ourselves worthy of the respect of whites, and to do so required proof that we "belonged." It's among the great ironies of race in this country that when black leaders display these same qualities, they are accused of "elitism," no matter how humble their origins.

Now, even the first black president has been compelled to present proof that he "belongs" in the White House. No Harvard degree, no Nobel Prize -- not even the support of a majority of voters in this vast country is enough. More will always be required.
That's why so many of us are disturbed by the president's decision to give in and release the long-form document. We understand and respect that painful decision to try to refocus the country's attention away from these absurd distractions and on to the critical problems we face. But we also know that his gesture will do little to quell the ongoing challenges to his authority from people who will never accept his leadership. It's not about whether he was born in Hawaii. It's the imposition of never-ending hurdles, and it's motivated by the idea that racial minorities are "others" who must prove their right to have a real place in the leadership of American institutions.

It's no surprise that Donald Trump, the quintessential example of bloated, egocentric American wealth and excess, has already moved on to questioning the grounds for President Obama's admission to Harvard. No rational person doubts the intellectual gifts of the president. They've been on display for decades. It's hard to imagine a movement demanding proof that President George W. Any birther story can distract and soothe the political masses, as it has since the first time it raised its ugly bipartisan head. Like an adrenaline smoothie, it wraps us in its warm, seductive embrace....and all other political issues seem to fade into the background.

Why haven't we been watching Obama like a mother elephant on steroids, protecting her babies from a pack of starving lions read to take us down to another bloody slaughter, this time in Libya?
After all, five days ago Obama AUTHORIZED THE USE OF OUR DRONES AGAINST CIVILIANS IN LIBYA.

Honestly, do you think Obama would have done his birth-certificate Big Reveal Blow-Off finale if it wasn't for a damned good (i.e., corporate-profitable) reason? After all, he can only do it once, so it had better pay off, and pay off good.
The "birther" distraction has become Obama's greatest tool which, predictably, will do two things:
1. Distract both the left and right from whatever blood-dripping slight-of-hand Obama needs to pull.

As soon as I saw the "birth certificate reveal" article, I KNEW Obam had done something heinous. Obama would not have revealed his birth certificate unless it was to distract us from something REALLY, REALLY evil he didn't want our focus on...until it was too late to stop it.
The Obama Birther Distractor Tool--Obama's always-convenient and predictable way to distract both the Left and the Right by engaging the nutball birthers in dialogue about his birth certificate, while always playing the victim role--is extremely valuable. It distracts both sides at the same time into emotionally-laden, mindless, well-rehearsed-by-now diatribes each other.
The birther issue is crack to political junkies who haunt internet message boards. So intoxicating, so seductive, so mindless, so impossible to resist.
Meanwhile--what is going on that he, and the right, don't want us to focus on.

Obama, the Democrats and GOPers have just launched a HUGE escalation of our war efforts in Libya. Since Obama authorized the use of drones against Libyan civilians five days ago, there has been so little in the way of American protest against it.
Nope. We are far too busy with our birther crack-pipe, and letting tools like President Obama and Orily Taitz yank us around by the short-hairs over an issue as stupid as a birth certificate.

NATO forces hit civilian areas in Libya, commence drone attacks
The UN Security Council resolution purportedly authorizing U.S./NATO operations in Libya was further undermined yesterday when NATO airstrikes reportedly hit civilian targets in Tripoli and other cities.
As France 24 reports today,
NATO planes staged raids on civil and military sites in the Libyan capital Tripoli and other cities, JANA news agency said, without confirming the number of people killed and wounded. Earlier air raids conducted by the Western alliance struck near a compound in Tripoli where Kadhafi resides.
“A military source said civil and military sites were targeted by the colonialist aggressor,” said JANA, specifying that the strikes had also covered Al-Khums, Gharian, El Assa and Sirte, the birthplace of strongman Moamer Kadhafi.
Three new explosions rocked the Libyan capital in the late evening as NATO warplanes overflew Tripoli, AFP journalists said, after several earlier blasts in the city centre and outlying quarters.
The Chinese news agency Xinhau adds that civilian infrastructure was among NATO’s targets:.....

The White House has released President Barack Obama's birth certificate, in response to persistent rumours he was not born in the US.
Obama had previously released an official "certification of live birth" showing he was born in Hawaii. But fringe "birther" theorists have insisted Obama was actually born in his father's native Kenya, making him ineligible to be president.
Recently potential Republican candidate Donald Trump has revived the rumour.
Today, Wednesday, Obama described the unprecedented move as an effort to rid the US political debate of a distraction, saying he had watched, puzzled and bemused, as the birther conspiracy had built and developed over the past years.
"We do not have time for this kind of silliness," Obama said. "We have better stuff to do. I have better stuff to do. We have problems we have to solve but we're going to have to focus on them, not on this."
The release of Obama's long form birth certificate, which had been stored in a vault in Hawaii since his birth in August 1961, comes after years of speculation among conspiracy-minded conservatives.
During the 2008 presidential campaign Obama released a computer print-out of the birth certificate information that is recognised as an official record of his birth, and Hawaiian public health officials vouched for its authenticity. But the move did little to quell the birthers.
On Wednesday, the White House released copies of the original birth certificate, with a stamp indicating it was received from Hawaiian officials on Monday.
It shows Barack Hussein Obama II was born 4 August 1961 at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu, to Barack Hussein Obama, a 25-year-old student, and Stanley Ann Dunham, 18, and includes the signature of the attending physician.
