Zachary Christie is a six-year old student in Newark, Delaware who is facing 45 days in reform school because he brought his new Cub Scout eating utensil to school for lunch. Heather Lawerance, a 16 year old JROTC student at Springstead High school in Spring Hill Florida has been suspended for 3 days after walking into a classroom confronting a Muslim student and telling her to "Take that thing off your head and act like your proud to be an American"
Lawerance claims the Muslim student in question wasn't standing up for the pledge, but later reports confirmed that she was indeed standing but not reciting the words.
"This girl lied," Principal Duval said. "I have confirmed with the homeroom teacher the young lady stood for the pledge."
"You know, I made a not-so-kind remark, and I do sincerely apologize for referring to the thing on her head because that had nothing to do with it." Lawrence said in a later interview "But I told her, why don't she act like she's proud to be an American."
"It wasn't meant to be a racial comment, and I wasn't trying to bash her religion," she said. "I didn't expect her to say (the pledge). I just expect her to stand up for it. If she had a problem with what I said, I'd be happy to apologize to her."
After the incident when a school official asked her why she confronted her . "She began to rant that she was enlisting and was going to Iraq and that basically because the girl looks Middle Eastern, that makes her an enemy because all Iraqis are Middle Eastern," according to the referral signed by assistant principal Stephen Crognale.

KLBJ's AM 590 have yanked "The Todd & Don Show" because Don Pryor, co-host of the show used a derogatory term numerous times Tuesday morning. Apparently the topic for discussion was regarding illegal immagration and undocumented worker in the U.S. and during this discussion Don was heard using the term w*****k or the plural version more than two dozen times. Don used the word in context by saying things like "What happened to the good old word "w*****k?" Pryor said during the show. "Seriously, what was wrong with that? It was memorable."
Both Don Pryor and co-host Todd Jefferies have been suspended for two weeks without pay. Though Jefferies was never sited for use of the word and though he tried to stop it, station managers feel that the suspension is best fit for both hosts.
It seems Pryor feels his comments weren't racist, as the hosts cynical and sarcastic style would lead some to believe he didn't to be insulting. "It does not reflect our management," said Pryor. "I often use sarcasm."
They went on to say, "We are sorry. We do want to move on from this." It was unclear from the broadcast whether it was Jeffries or Pryor who made that last comment.
Throughout the hour, the hosts continued to discuss the issue and took several phone calls from listeners.
"We should honor these people who come here to work and want to be free like us instead of using terms like "w*****k," said a caller named Renee.
A different host will sub-in for Todd & Don during there suspension. Officials in Austin are discussing whether to boycott the show or accept the public apology as enough for the remarks made.KLBJ's AM 590 have yanked "The Todd & Don Show" because Don Pryor,... more

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ozzie Guillen earned himself an almost certain suspension Sunday afternoon. He told a dirty little secret.
“I’ve hit people before on purpose,” said Guillen, the Chicago White Sox manager, after a game Sunday in which umpires levied a suspect ejection in the fifth inning of a blowout when Chicago reliever D.J. Carrasco hit Kansas City’s Miguel Olivo with the bases loaded and incited a bench-emptying square dance.
“Yes I have,” Guillen continued. “Because that’s my job. Protect my players.”
Managers know better than to admit publicly one of baseball’s most unsavory truths, that a select number of hit-by-pitches registered each year come laced with intent. The purpose pitch – or the purpose hit, in these instances – is simply a part of baseball, and whether it’s to keep a batter from getting too comfortable or avenge some kind of perceived misdeed, it will never go away, no matter how much Major League Baseball tries to police its game.
Baseball sees this as the type of thing reserved for hockey, or Ron Artest, which is why it likely will drop the hammer on Guillen sometime this week. And yet as he continued his rant following the White Sox’s 14-3 loss that dropped them out of first place in the American League Central for the first time since May 16, a kernel of truth revealed itself. This wasn’t a typical Ozzie blowup, full of misguided fire and silly brimstone, a mouth shooting out Silly String. He made mountains of sense, and his point is something that baseball ought to consider instead of condemn.
“Sometimes people have to have a little bit of common sense,” Guillen said. “I’m talking about the umpires, I’m not talking about Olivo.”
Well, Olivo needs it, too. He charged the mound after getting hit in the hand with the bases loaded in a blowout game by a pitcher whose fastball doesn’t touch 90 mph on a fast gun.
All of which relates back to Sunday’s home-plate umpire Tim Timmons and crew chief Gary Cederstrom. Dusting a batter is not black and white. However basic and brute the act, it takes a fair amount of consideration.
Who do you hit? Where do you hit him? Why do you hit him? When do you hit him?
“You think I’m going to bring somebody in to hit somebody and they’re going to throw a fastball 82 (mph) at the hands?” Guillen said. “I’m going to bring in my best guy and make sure he gets it done. That’s Major League Baseball. That’s baseball. That’s the baseball I grew up with. Not the (expletive) they play right now.”
By his best guy, Guillen said he meant Octavio Dotel or Matt Thornton, both of whom throw 95 mph. Carrasco is a sinkerball pitcher, and with one out and a slow-running free swinger at the plate, he threw three consecutive pitches inside trying to induce a double-play ball. Even Ozzie isn’t twisted enough to call for a retaliation pitch with the bases loaded just so he can cloak it with a good excuse.
