Another loss for the A’s makes it now 8 in a row, and this one has to be more frustrating for the players than the past 7. This was not only a game the Athletics HAD to win, it was one that they should’ve won. Monday was not a good day for the A’s. Sitting on a six game losing streak and unable to find a way since the All Star break to put a few wins together, they found out that their singular franchise player, Eric Chavez, will need season ending shoulder surgery next week.
