Hollywood, California -- Former superstar Cher has fallen victim to a bogus Tweet, which announced that she had passed away last Thursday. It appears that the 65-year-old singer/actress has no way of proving that she is indeed still alive.
“Cher hasn’t done anything worthwhile since giving permission to Chastity to become Chaz,” said a leading film producer who asked to remain anonymous. “Now that’s entertainment.
“But as far as her own music and movie career is concerned, Cher has been code blue for years.”
A publicist speaking on behalf of Cher protested that today’s reality stars are granted celebrity status without any significant achievements or noticeable talent.
“Oh, I didn’t realize that Cher’s last name is Kardashian,” the producer responded.
Upon hearing of her own untimely demise, Cher checked herself into Mount Sinai Hospital for tests. But the medical staff there kept busy finding ways to ignore the former star.
“We’ve moved on to acts like Madonna and Gaga,” a hospital spokeswoman said. “It’s time for Cher to move on too.”
Cher has requested an open coffin, according to her publicist, “so that her few remaining fans can enjoy her haunting beauty until the very end. I guess this beats skiing into a tree.”Hollywood, California -- Former superstar Cher has fallen victim to a bogus Tweet,... more

New York -- Over 74% of Americans believe that the nation is “off on the wrong track,” according to a recent survey conducted for The Wall Street Journal and NBC News.
The pessimistic figure is the worst since October 2008, when 78% said that the country is headed in the wrong direction.
But the trick here is not to dwell in the past, but to look ahead and identify forthcoming signals that it’s time to become a Canadian.
Here then are the 10 future signs the nation is headed in the wrong direction:
1. China perfects the Occupy Wall Street concept, then renames New York’s financial district Chinatown.
2. NASA gets out of space exploration business and buys a carpet steaming franchise.
3. Your daughter changes her name to Snooki.
4. Citibank outsources its call center work to the Taliban.
5. They install “Tips” jars in Congress.
6. Lady Gaga starts to look like a viable presidential candidate.
7. You trade in your car for a meatball sub.
8. Alec Baldwin gets 6 to 10 after answering the question: “What’s in your wallet?”
9. The federal government bans texting while thinking.
