Bad Taste is a 1987 cult science fiction comedy horror film. Produced on a low budget, it is one of the first films directed by Peter Jackson. The film features Jackson and his friends taking a number of key roles, both on and off-screen. The plotline sees aliens invade the fictional New Zealand village of Kaihoro to harvest humans for their intergalactic fast food franchise, where they face off against a four-man paramilitary force, of which at least one member appears to have gone insane.............................. watch now http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/video/viewvideo/738/movies/bad-tasteBad Taste is a 1987 cult science fiction comedy horror film. Notice the boom of the latest coffee store or fast food chain? Franchising is to thank. It involves the purchasing of a brand name and then running the business yourself while sharing profits. This creates greater incentive for the business to succeed as both the owner of the name and the manager stand to gain.

Largely used in newspaper and magazine articles, headlines are also useful in many other print materials, such as flyers and posters. They accentuate what the readers are about to expect in the article itself. Headlines cannot necessarily be considered a title, but they give out the necessary information to lure the audience to actually read on. To be able to do this, one needs to make sure that the font style is as catchy as the words. A good font always gives an extra chance to get more readers hanging on to their seats. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/tutorials/12619-the-best-free-big-boldLargely used in newspaper and magazine articles, headlines are also useful in many... more

With the domestic trailer already spilling the beans on the “Ben Stiller spurts blood on his family” joke and the “Ben Stiller stabs Robert De Niro’s erection with a needle” joke (aka, “probable semen joke”), the final piece of the Focker Biohazard Comedy Trinity has at last been revealed with the new international trailer. If you couldn’t tell from the above image, it’s vomit...

For the last couple of decades, women have been treated as second-class filmgoers. The plexes have been dominated by explosions, chases, slashings, Superheroics, gross-out gags and other delights tailored to the tastes of the adolescent male and his overgrown counterpart. Now, the tables have been turned by a single franchise.
The Twilight films don't just attract audiences that are 80% female. They give vent to passions so exclusively girlish that their intensity baffles mere males. Yet on its first night out, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse ensconced itself in more American cinemas than any other film has ever managed to. The $68m (£45m) it took in the process made it the biggest Wednesday opener of all time. This also made it the most successful opener on any day of the week, apart from just one other film. That happened to be The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
In the cinemas, then, a great triumph for women is clearly being won. Just how much good it's doing them is more doubtful. The spell that Twilight casts over Twihard poppets and even their full-grown Twimoms cannot be assumed to be entirely benign.

This week, the Cinefantastique Horror, Fantasy & Science Fiction Podcast scrutinizes a pair of sequels that seem to have nothing in common: SHREK FOREVER AFTER, the latest family-friendly CGI fantasy from DreamWorks Animation; and SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD, the latest horrifying episode in George A. Romero’s on-going zombie apocalypse, which began way back in 1968 with NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. What’s the connection? Although each film has its worthwhile moments, both raise the question of whether their franchises are tapped out and in need of a hiatus to recharge their batteries. Also on the menu: a round-up of recent news, a preview of the week’s home video releases, including TRUE BLOOD: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON and THE ROAD; and listener mail.

If you go to northwest South Dakota, between Meadow and Glad Valley, there you will find the furthest spot from any McDonald's in the contiguous United States, a depressingly local 145 miles by car.
This map was created by Stephen Von Worley, who used location data on the 13,000 plus MickeyD's locations along with some coding-fu to generate the above map. What we see is as expected, a network of the franchises largely following the freeway and highway system and increasing in density in proportion to the population density. According to Von Worley, the furthest you can get from a McDonald's is in the aforementioned prairie wasteland of South Dakota, 107 miles as the crow flies from the nearest set of golden arches. And people wonder why we're a fat nation. For the complete breakdown and a full resolution version of the map, head over to Weather Sealed:

It sounded bad when they filed the lawsuit recently...
"The producers of "Terminator Salvation" have filed for bankruptcy and their list of creditors is a veritable "who's who" of Hollywood.
Just a day after the duo sued their investors for allegedly pushing them into a series of bad business decisions and placing what they claim is an illegal lien on their property, three companies belonging to Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek, owners of the "Terminator" franchise rights and the producers of May's "Terminator Salvation," filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Tuesday.
Even though the movie has sold a healthy $370 million worth of tickets around the world and has yet to be released on DVD and in other post-theatrical markets, Anderson and Kubicek apparently couldn't stay afloat. As detailed in yesterday's lawsuits, they don't have the assets to pay back one of several loans made by Santa Barbara hedge fund Pacificor, which financed their $30-million purchase of the "Terminator" rights and loaned $9 million for other operating expenses.
Anderson and Kubicek have had several legal disputes with former business associates in their short careers as film producers, as reported by the Times in May.
The list of creditors for Anderson and Kubicek's three companies -- T Asset Acquisition Company, Dominion Group and Halcyon Holding Group -- includes four major studios and several big names involved in "Salvation," including star Christian Bale and director McG. Even California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose face is briefly seen near the end of the movie, is on the list...."It sounded bad when they filed the lawsuit recently...

1: Reboot
2: Prequelise
3: Tap that nostalgia
4: Plot is highly overrated
5: It’s a blockbuster, not a cure for cancer
6: British isn’t always best
7: Comic books can fail

In a seemingly unusual tie-up, Warner Bros Interactive have announced LEGO Rock Band - which looks set to be a combination of popular rhythm game Rock Band and popular LEGO games like LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Batman. Amazing.
I think it's safe to say I didn't see that one coming. Whatever next? FIFA Kart? LEGO Minesweeper? Metal Gear Bricky? (I'm sure you can come up with some wittier ones.)In a seemingly unusual tie-up, Warner Bros Interactive have announced LEGO Rock Band -... more

Director McG stripped most of the color from Salvation in order to evoke an "other-worldly, desolate feeling." The filmmaker solicited feedback from experts who monitored the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl, then underscored the post-apocalyptic sense of gloom by using obsolete Kodak stock that was baked in the sun to deliberately damage the film.
"Most importantly," McG said, "we added three times as much silver in the processing than one traditionally would to a color stock."
McG, eager to win Cameron's seal of approval, remembers the pitch: "I told Cameron, 'This is the first Terminator picture that takes place post-Judgment Day. We'll be able explore this world that you alluded to ever so briefly and re-invigorate Terminator in the spirit of what Chris Nolan did with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight or the James Bond franchise has done in the Daniel Craig space.' So Cameron said, 'OK, that sounds interesting.'"Director McG stripped most of the color from Salvation in order to evoke an... more

The Shaolin Temple is probably China's most well-known (and comercialised) Buddhist temple, and now its planning to branch out on its success and take over four other temples in Kunming. The contract signed by the four temples allows Shaolin monks to introduce Shaolin features, including what has been touted as an "integration of Zen and martial arts." In exchange, all revenue generated by these temples through donations, tourism, and the sale of religious items will belong to Shaolin.
I can't help but see this as a rather worrying trend, as the commercialisation of temples makes them lose their individuality and effectively become nothing more than tourist traps. Could this be the start of a Shaolin franchise? The Shaolin Temple is probably China's most well-known (and comercialised)... more
